Purchased a life time product to access everywhere. They blocked me from using after couple years. Contact customer service they cannot find me... They collect the money and run. Stay away from this scam business. Set them all the proof, they close the tickets without responding. Bad bad bussiness.

This company is not based out of Delaware as their ad would have us believe. The sales phone number attached to the ad does not work. When I questioned a charge from them with PayPal, PayPal looked up their information and found they are actually stationed out of Israel. I would not recommend doing business with a company that operates in this manner.

purchased the product, downloaded it, and could not copy and paste my book to edit. I emailed the company to explain my problem and asked for a refund. Told them thank you and that I would consider their product for my next project. They did offer if for an extra year free but again I told them thank you but I can't use it. I emailed them seven times but they refuse to respond. It's sad that people are just out for your money and will rip you off. I told them to keep their money and I will tell every student at the college beware and buy Grammarly.

I would give a 0 star if I had the option. This company is a rip-off. Trying to cancel my auto subscription, and I am unable to talk to anyone. I have left several messages and send numerous emails, but still no response. I am contacting my CC company and dispute the charge. Unprofessional behavior from The Whitesmoke!!

I’m a longtime user of WhiteSmoke. I purchase the lifetime plan subscription in 2013 and suddenly my account was closed without any notices. I’m being told as per the license agreement the account was closed. I was never provided with an agreement and this company is a SCAM.
They have removed the lifetime plan users and requesting the to pay additional to continue using their product.
Please stay away from dealing with WhiteSmoke..

Had a problem recently with a Mac update and the people at WhiteSmoke have gone above and beyond to help me fix the problem. I highly recommend them and their customer service is outstanding.

Horrible- white smoke does not correct grammar as it claims. Auto renew scam- there is no way for the customer to opt out of auto renew. You must contact customer service and then they ask for feedback instead of cancelling as requested. I used both White smoke and Grammerly to compare software and honestly Grammarly is A FAR superior software. Grammerly catches mistakes while Whitesmoke creates mistakes!

The software is horrible, it is not accurate and it adds additional words to my work.

I bought a lifetime subscription back in 2012. Now Whitesmoke emailed me saying they are not going to honour the agreement and want me to pay again to continue using the software.

I’ll be honest - Do not Purchase without reading terms and conditions. Actually they cheat with the Lifetime plan. The lifetime plan is not actually a lifetime plan, it only lasts for 6 years.
Regarding software experience - it is not worth it, you will need to proofread again. It makes silly errors by giving stupid suggestions.

Conclusion- Don’t buy this junk.
Go for Grammarly or Google Translator or proofread services.

I bought whitesmoke 1-1,5 years ago and I never got my order. They charged me but I never got my product. I contacted them with Email but never got any answer. 6 Months ago i got a reply, after 1 year of waiting. They apologized for late reply and said that my Email was in their spam/junk folder.

He continued to ask if i still needed support. I said yes and explaiend my situation and why i need Whitesmoke. To this day i havent gotten a reply.

Oh my God.
The quality of this soft is so poor, the accuracy is so low. It couldn't be compared with ProwritingAid.

I had problems installing this software before my screen went completely black and I couldn’t use my laptop at all. I unplugged everything and tackled the issue the next day by rebooting my laptop. When I asked Whitesmoke for a refund because there is no way I would go through that problem again, my request was refused as I’d had the software for more than 7 days. From my experience, I say stay away from Whitesmoke. I’ve used Grammarly for years without any problems.

Bought the 2012 "non-expiring LIfetime" license only to be told after six years, the license isn't valid and "Lifetime" means "Software." I know. It makes no sense.

The software itself is okay. But is not sufficient by itself. You still need to proof with a person. It mostly catches repeating words, missing words, and gives you a "score" for how good the writing is. That score is pretty meaningless.

It also has to connect to a server, and as others have mentioned, is probably not very secure.

When you see so many negative reviews, they exist for a reason. If you buy this software, I can't even say that you are getting what you pay for because they will probably say you didn't buy what you thought you did. Good luck!

I am concerned about the business practices of this software company. 1. There is nobody to take or return the calls. The customer service is almost zero, 2. They want the credit card so that they can continue to bill the card in future. The drop down window at the purchase column has yearly charge included as a condition.

IT Dept can't install WhiteSmoke because this is considered a KEYLOGGER.IT IS MALWARE. SPYWARE.

Guess what -- you can call and write to their customer service department all day long and there is NO ONE THERE! Some kind of foreign scam -- RUN AWAY.

PROS: Synonym function that help to choose the proper word. However, it is not user friendly. Desktop version did not function properly such as translator, it also did not uninstall with the window version updated. The web log in is error so often, it keeps showing username and password wrong, while the support team take too long to reply the issue, and not follow or provide the possible solution. CONS: The billing department for cancellation did not response the related issue about the refund. The customer service did not offer any helps and solutions. And finally they lose your contact without any responses or responsibility. I decide to get the refund, but I have not any response from the billing department, just only automated responses sent back. Hope this helps before subscription.
