One of the Worst Broadband Services
I had one of the worst experiences with Vodafone while purchasing their broadband service. Initially, they offered a huge discount in the form of gift cards, which seemed appealing, but I later realized the issues hidden behind their service.
After installation, I found that the WiFi range was insufficient for my home. I contacted Vodafone customer service, requesting a solution either to fix the issue or send me a WiFi booster (one or two, depending on the need). Instead of resolving the problem, they insisted I upgrade my contract to a more expensive plan to get a booster. All I asked for was a WiFi extender, not free broadband for life!
The situation worsened when a customer advisor promised to call me back on December 26, 2024, to arrange a return. Not only did she fail to keep her promise, but she was also extremely unprofessional during the call. I could hear a house party in the background, with kids crying and noise throughout. If you can’t fulfill a promise, don’t mislead customers it adds unnecessary stress. Why couldn’t Vodafone use the voucher credit they offered as part of the promotion to send a WiFi extender or their so-called booster? It’s frustrating that they push customers to upgrade their contracts instead of using the existing credit to address basic service issues. This would have been a fair and logical solution, considering I only needed a simple device to fix the poor WiFi range not a costly new plan.”
My biggest concern was the cooling-off period. If I didn’t return the equipment on time, I would have been stuck in their contract. Thankfully, I contacted Vodafone again around 5:30 PM (UK time) and spoke to a representative named Bumba. He was professional, helpful, and explained everything clearly. I truly appreciated his assistance and told him I’d leave a review to highlight the issues and commend his support.
Now, Vodafone has sent me an email stating that I need to pay for a full month’s service, even though I only used it for six days and canceled well within the cooling-off period. According to the Consumer Rights Act, this charge seems completely unjustified.
