Awful company! Been with TTNC for 10 years and raved about how good they were. Unfortunately they've been bought over by a company that has zero customer service and applies unsolicited, irrelevant services to your account on a 'free trial' then charges you for it - in this case Dark Web Monitoring. First I knew of it was when a different amount was DD from my bank account. After sending several complaints I was told it was customers responsibility to check their invoices every month to ensure a new service hadn't been added to your account. When you've a rolling payment/service that never changes, why would anyone study the invoice every month?! No one would expect they needed to check their invoices for an unsolicited service on their account - but hey, great way to make money for an unscrupulous company!
As a goodwill gesture they've offered me another irrelevant service, call credit - a service they know I've never used in the last 10 years and have no use for! I'm now left to peruse a refund though DD guarantee. All trust is eroded and I will never recommend them again.
If you sign up to them, be prepared to study your invoice every single month and inconvenience yourself going through hoops to remove a service they've applied to your account.

An invaluable addition to my business. Works without any issues.

Was paying say £8 a month all their emails were going junk on our business invoice email other than the invoices themselves. Why would I need to see their emails other than invoices it's a very simple straight forward service. However, they then opt us into a service we don't even ask for that costs £10 a month "DARK WEB MONITORING" like all we want is a phone?
4 months later we realised they more than doubled our bill to which they responded we did email you about it. LIKE HOW CAN YOU OPT SOMEONE INTO SOMETHING THEY DIDN'T ASK FOR? Absolute Scammers, literal theft.
Should we not receive a refund promptly it will be sent to our lawyers and business will be taken elsewhere. We've been with TTNC for 3+ years and I imagine they'll be losing a lot of customers unless they refund ASAP. Either stupid or money-grabbing scumbags let's see.
Update:
Company is doubling down on taking peoples money and opting them into services they didn't ask for. Acting like it's my fault they stole my money imagine.
Imagine you were using spotify and found out they've doubled your bill the last 4 months for "Pool audio enhancement". You email saying you don't even have a pool and didn't ask for it but they tell you they sent you an email telling you that you were being opted in to try it.

I was paying £2 per month and then, without my knowing found out this had been increased to £15.99 per month. Apparently this is for an "essential services fee" for another £4 per month ( which I can sort of accept as prices have gone up and £2 isn't much), but is also for a dark web service for £9.99 per month- a service they offer (without asking if you want it) where they send you a report each month - which I didn't know about or ask for - but did find in my junk. The company refuses to refund the charge when I called them. I find this sort of behaviour unbelievable - how can you just start charging people for something without permission like that?

Caroline is a gem! She was so patient and helpful as we looked for a solution to the problem with payment processing.

I came here to warn others about TTNC's bad business practices. New customers should avoid this company.
Until a few months ago, we were very happy with the service.
As others have mentioned, TTNC added a "free trial" of a web monitoring service to our account without our request, but when the free trial expired, they simply added it to our services and started billing £10/mo for it. Although TTNC send an email each month listing your services, we didn't notice the new charge because we simply had no idea that the "free trial" would be auto-subscribed.
When other companies offer free trials (e.g. a mobile phone company throwing in a 6-month free trial of Disney+ with a new phone contract), they make it clear that you must cancel the free trial before it ends or you'll be auto-subscribed. TTNC did not do this.
When we noticed the monthly TTNC fees had increased, we tried contacting TTNC to resolve the issue. Numerous phone calls over several days were answered by an "overflow" phone answering service; they are real people but they don't work for TTNC. They suggest you email or offer to take your details and you'll be called back. But no email or phone response has been received. I requested a callback using their online form but again, nothing. It's as if TTNC have outsourced the phone helpdesk and ignores any requests that it logs.
Sneaking additional services on customers is bad enough. But not being able to contact the company to resolve issues is a red flag.
Avoid this company!

As a happy user of this service for several years i am saddened to see how bad and how greedy this company has got.
As several people have mentioned, they have sneakily added a charge under the guise of providing a 'dark Web monitoring service'. They then started taking £10 a month from my account without my permission or consent.
Furthermore it used to be a breeze to get hold of customer services, however now when you phone up, you are advised to email in, they cannot help with anything by phone it seems. You then eventually get an email response which does not address your concerns from an email address that you can not reply to!
Shocking service and poor attitude. I will be looking at a new provider who listens to their customers and doesn't try to steal money from them.
Avoid this company!!!

TTNC have started charging people with a dodgy and worthless "Dark Web Monitor" service - a service that I never requested or signed up for and which they started charging me £10 a month for after an initial, unrequested "free month's trial".
Very underhand tactics to try and make money from people and I would have assumed it surely must be illegal too.
Do not reward business practices like this and find an alternative provider.

Great experience with TTNC and especially Caroline who provided a brilliant service.

Our companies have used TTNC since 2007 and received great VOIP services from them.
Until now. Apparently, on May 16th they sent out a single email detailing an "opt-out" trial of their Dark Web Monitoring service, that if not cancelled, would cost £9.99 a month. I say apparently as I did not receive this email, but have just been told this by customer services. No further communications were sent out.
I only noticed the charges by accident as I went to add another phone number and service to our account. TTNC customer services have refunded this month's charge but refuse to refund earlier charges.
Why a company would consider this a valid form of marketing is beyond belief. If we wanted such services we wouldn't look to our telephony provider.
The service itself doesn't look impressive. I found a report from the TTNC service in my spam folder sent on July 11th that shows various data breaches from years ago that are all published in the public domain. So it took the service nearly 6 weeks to find the data breaches, the most recent of which was from 2020. Shouldn't the service have found this on the first day it was running?
The content of the email is identical to a search on the free website Have I Been Pwned - the details of the data breaches as exactly the same.
For example, from the TTNC Dark Web Service:
"In October 2020, a security researcher published a technique for scraping large volumes of data from Gravatar, the service for
providing globally unique avatars . 167 million names, usernames and MD5 hashes of email addresses used to reference users' avatars were
subsequently scraped and distributed within the hacking community. 114 million of the MD5 hashes were cracked and distributed alongside the
source hash, thus disclosing the original email address and accompanying data. Following the impacted email addresses being searchable in HIBP,
Gravatar release an FAQ detailing the incident."
From the free Have I Been Pwnded website:
"In October 2020, a security researcher published a technique for scraping large volumes of data from Gravatar, the service for providing globally unique avatars . 167 million names, usernames and MD5 hashes of email addresses used to reference users' avatars were subsequently scraped and distributed within the hacking community. 114 million of the MD5 hashes were cracked and distributed alongside the source hash, thus disclosing the original email address and accompanying data. Notice 2 errors are identical, an extra space before the full stop after the word avatars and the use of the word release rather than released in the last sentence.
To sum up, they have charged every single customer £9.99 per month for a service that no customer asked for and is a simple repackaging of public information.
Edited to add that after following their complaints procedure my charges were refunded, so our review is changed from 1 star to 3 stars. Still a very poor business practice and having to take the time to follow a support then complaints procedure is far from ideal. Their telephony services continue to excel.

I've been a loyal TTNC customer for years, relying on their IP telephony. However, their recent "Dark Web Monitoring" service introduction has left me infuriated. They sneakily added this service to my account, charging £10 monthly without my consent. When I asked for a credit, they flatly refused. After years of use, I'm closing my account. Stay away from TTNC to save yourself the trouble.

Risposta di TTNC - The Telephone Number Company
Have been with this company for years, never had an issue. Until now.
They decided to add 'Dark Web Monitoring' for £9.99 per month and it was only due to our debit card expiring that I noticed this on the invoices.
We never added this service; they did.
No refund at all, which would have stopped this madness. Spoke with a man on support (and billing it appears) who just pointed me to their Terms and Conditions which obviously mentions price changes / increases etc. but nowhere does it mention that they can add charged services whenever they like.
Avoid this fraudulent company at all costs. Next step for me is escalating this to the Ombudsman and forcing a chargeback, which just wastes everyone's time and damages their merchant account reputation.

Recently introduced a dark web monitoring service via an unsolicited free trial automatically converting to a paid subscription after 30 days for existing customers. This would not have been allowed if it were a B2C relationship. Refund issued at request but the management need to understand this kind of practice is unacceptable.
As for the telephone number services, they have been great for over five years and always responsive to support requests and issues.

We've been a happy TTNC customer for a very long time, but like many others, we've been charged for services we didn't request or want. Almost doubling our bill.
We rely heavily on TTNC, but will be moving away.

As a loyal customer of TTNC for the past two years, I'm consistently impressed by the company's level of professionalism and dependability. They have effectively integrated an array of features, enhancing the day-to-day operations of my business and streamlining our communication needs.
TTNC's innovative VoIP solutions are not the sole reason behind my satisfaction, however. Their customer service team has proven to be exemplary, promptly addressing any issues I've encountered, including a recent billing discrepancy that was resolved swiftly and professionally.
In a market crowded with VoIP providers, TTNC truly stands out, consistently demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction and quality service. I am more than satisfied with my experience with TTNC, and I wholeheartedly recommend their services to any business seeking robust, dependable, and user-friendly communication solutions.

Risposta di TTNC - The Telephone Number Company
Just like everyone else is saying, they've started scamming customers by billing them for services we never subscribed to or agreed to. I'll be porting all of my numbers to someone else.
AVOID!

Risposta di TTNC - The Telephone Number Company
We are a long time customer with this company. They tried to automatically enroll us for a new service they are providing and have charged us using the direct debit we set up for the telephone answering service. We did not opt-in to this at any point. They just sent an email saying that opted us into a 30 days free trial and if we didn't opt out they would be charging us. This is an abuse of the Direct Debit scheme. Is this even legal??

Risposta di TTNC - The Telephone Number Company
Was going so well, then they signed me up to a "free" 30day trial of dark web and then billed £9.99 per month. It's against the law to sign someone up to anything they have not requested or ordered. Shocking tactic. You have to get permission from the customer to "opt in", not email once saying they have to "opt out". That breaches the Direct Debit Guarantee.

Risposta di TTNC - The Telephone Number Company
I have been a customer since 2011. Last week I noticed a charge on my bill for dark web monitoring. Something I did not request or sign up for.
When asked about why i was paying for it, TTNC customer ‘support’ said it was there because they sent an email (one) about it weeks ago and I hadn’t opted out. I wasn’t even aware I had to.
So they were about to charge for a service i did not ask for. ‘It’s legal,’ they said. No hint of an apology for a shoddy way of doing business. Not a word, to a customer of 12 years.
Soon to become an ex-customer.
