I ordered materials from Travis Perkins for a small garden project during my week of annual leave. The order was made Saturday for delivery Monday. Monday came and went with no delivery.

When I called on Tuesday, I was told I’d simply been “missed off” the schedule and it would now arrive Wednesday, with a call beforehand to confirm a time. No call ever came — just a sudden text saying the driver was arriving soon. The driver himself was polite and helpful, but one item was missing, which I then had to chase. I was told it might come Thursday, but even that wasn’t confirmed.

The whole experience showed a real lack of care. My time off is now wasted because I can’t start the project, and no gesture of goodwill was offered. Very disappointing service.

Extremely Disappointing Experience with Travis Perkins, Epsom

My experience with Travis Perkins in Epsom was, quite honestly, one of the most frustrating and disappointing customer service experiences I have ever had.

I was looking to spend several thousand pounds on materials for a decking project. Despite being a serious customer ready to place a substantial order, I was repeatedly given incorrect information, left waiting for responses, and made to feel as though my enquiries were an inconvenience. I made several phone calls and sent emails, but my attempts to get clear information and assistance were repeatedly ignored or left unanswered. The constant response that they were “too busy” was simply unacceptable.

What made the experience even more frustrating was the changing information regarding discounts. Initially, I was told that a discount could be offered if the purchase was made through a company. Later, this position was changed, leaving me confused and thoroughly dissatisfied with the way my enquiry had been handled.

After wasting a considerable amount of time trying to deal with Travis Perkins, I eventually decided to purchase directly online from the composite decking supplier, Cladco. The contrast could not have been greater. Cladco were polite, professional, efficient and responsive. My questions were answered promptly, and I was able to place my order within minutes—without the stress, hassle and endless chasing I had experienced with Travis Perkins.

A customer who is prepared to spend several thousand pounds should not have to repeatedly chase a company for basic information and assistance. Good customer service should be the foundation of any successful business, and unfortunately, that was completely lacking in my experience.

Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend Travis Perkins in Epsom to my friends, family or anyone looking for reliable customer service. I sincerely hope the company takes this feedback seriously and reviews the way customer enquiries are handled, because no customer should be made to feel ignored or unimportant when they are trying to do business with you.

Having ordered and paid for two bags of shingles to be delivered from Tadworth store to my house, 5 minutes away, the following day, delivery twice got moved. Supposed to be being delivered tomorrow morning (I won't be holding my breath). Why do they promise delivery for something they clearly don't have in stock and need to pick up from elsewhere. Had they been honest about this, I could have rearranged my team, or gone elsewhere. It is so infuriating! Will be selecting a more reliable supplier in future!

Who thinks scheduling a delivery slot for 6:15 in the morning is acceptable?
​To make matters worse, I wasn't even notified until a text arrived at 7:10 AM. I rushed to get ready for the driver, only for no one to show up at all in the allocated 2 hour slot. To top off this absolute mess, the tracking link now marks the order as "cancelled" while simultaneously listing the items as "delivered."
​The sheer level of incompetence and lack of consideration here is mind-boggling.

Just had a delivery of roofing materials and insulation boards the driver Andy from Wolverhampton depot is a complete asset to your company well done 👏 will look forward to the next delivery thanks 10/10.

Once again staff at the Staines branch have been very helpful, Martin (branch manager) seems to have a bunch of guys who want to work and don't disappear when you need help loading up,other branches should use this branch as a template for good customer service

I use tp Neachells lane Wolverhampton, Craig Anson plumbing manager has made a massive difference since his arrival to the branch, plumbing and heating products well stocked varied range of products even down to knowledge on plumbing systems. Credit to your branch

Dani (East Grinstead branch) dropped off some building supplies - sand and timber. Property is not easy to access and neighbours are difficult people. Dani navigated both very professionally. Very impressed. Great driving skills.

Unbelievable, I wanted to arrange a delivery, put my used batteries next to other's batteries on the un-emptied collection container first, then received a whole load of condescending attitude from Justin at the Ryde IOW branch. It's not the first time he's been surprisingly unpleasant. I had to walk away and abandoned my intended order after his four minute passive aggressive psycho-drama.
I am truly disgusted with Justin's passive aggression and appalling customer service, just remove the battery container if it's full instead of being disgraceful to people. What a nasty piece of work.

Craig, the driver from travis was a top bloke! He tried and tried to deliver my goods and eventually did!!

Great service!

Bought some 100 x 50mm treated timber from TP to replace some 4" x2"s on some decking. When i Got it home it turns out to be 'finished' 38 x 89mm. which is only 3 1/2" by 1 1/2"! I cut it up to fit in the car so cant take it back. Travis Perkins 38mm is not 2 inches.First and last purchase.

I ordered railway sleepers from Travis Perkins, Tonbridge. Sadly not a lot in the way of communication about my order, but a huge thank you to the delivery driver, Mark, who took the time to crane the delivery into our garden.

Mark is a advertisement for the company.

Staff at the Radcliffe branch were really helpful and free delivery and the best price for my NEHH angled cooker hood ( seperate review). The delivery driver was friendly and obliging, a 5* expyall round

Rory at Borehamwood was very helpful and responsive. Got me pricing quickly, arranged anything efficiently. Some of the goods came damaged but he quickly sorted that out. Need more Rorys !

All good, no issues or problems to report. Items are accurately described. Ordering processes & checkout easy to follow. A courtesy call received next day thanking for order and with delivery details. Delivery was as scheduled, driver was respectful & helpful in unloading.
