I wrote for a complaint on surpricecars that raped my money… not a finger moved… the message is that if you consume goods and you are ripped off who cares… why are we paying our taxes then if you won’t protect us from these scammers. Shutdown your operations… don’t know who is worse? The ones rips us off or the ones we expect will protect us from such scammers… You are the scam… shame on you.

Total embarrassment this organisation. All those food apps such as Uber eats getting away with daylight robbery by not delivering thousands of items and keeping customers money and trading standards so absolutely nothing about it. They are completely useless for 99.9% of the population and no doubt focus their efforts on ways to ensure the government gets more money via fines. Totally disgusting what the UK has become in the last 5-10 years. Every employee and politician should be embarrassed of what they are but they're all narcissistic sociopaths so they aren't. Disgraceful.

You Cannot contact trading standards directly. You have to ring citizens advice bureau. I spoke to citizens advice and raised the issue to Trading standards. Citizens advice Gave the impression that trading standards would very likely not respond or deal with the issue. Sadly I have no confidence in trading standards now, due to being unable to communicate with them directly.

Absolutely useless! I reported a trader who had conned me and many others out of money for a service they didn't provide. I had hard evidence and was able to acquire much more. Trading Standards did diddly squat. Zilch. Sweet FA! Not interested! They are not contactable directly and you are forced to go through Citizens Advice who appear to work by a script and provide a buffer to TS so they can sit on their backsides and do nothing. They only offer a green light to criminals and it irks me that tax payers money is spent on this useless organisation. Rogue traders take money from customers for a service they don't provide and this shower do exactly the same thing with our taxes. Deplorable!!!

I agree with the other negative reviews. If I could have give zero stars I would have. Recently a number of my complaints, relating to fraudulent merchants have been referred to Trading Standards by the Consumer Service. In every case, Trading Standards did not acknowledge the complaint and did not advise if they would be investigating. Since they did not bother to respond to The Consumer Service either, everyone was left in limbo on the offchance that they may be contacted. Years ago the situation was different: individuals could contact Trading Standards directly, an officer would be allocated to your case and would keep you updated. Nowadays, much like the Action Fraud lot (don't get me started on them), they merely provide an illusion of a service in my opinion.

I tried to purchased a beautiful leather crossover handbag advertised by this company as supple leather beautifully. Stitched, rain, stain resistant, suede lining. Adelle £34.95
When it arrived it was cheap vinyl. Horrible
Crackly, crunchy plastic lining. Despite writing to the company, no full refund offered.
Now they are using all the same advertised pictures from Jones-London, but trading now as Hilda-The Label. Adelle handbag is renamed as Agnethe £29.95.
Please do not purchase anything from them.

Have tried to contact Trading Standards via Citizens advice which I understand is the correct procedure . Citizens advice have confirmed my complaint against Homefuels Direct has been passed to T/S , Alas not even the courtesy of an acknowledgement from T/S . My complaint against Homefuels was their misleading online advert promising 5 day delivery of heating oil . No-one gets 5 day delivery check their reviews on here to see how misleading that advert is . Many of us end up paying surcharges for quick delivery elsewhere because Homefuels/Certas fail to deliver in weeks never mind 5 days .Stoney silence from T/S A DISGRACE FROM A GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT .

Trading standards in Blackpool very unhelpful uncooperative and condescending in that I have been ripped off by a trader for a roof replacement the job wasn't completed nor was it satisfactory trading standards just not interested wasted tax payers money what is it that they actually do Blackpool resident

This is the second time we have used Isle Landscapers, the first being 8 years ago to install a brand new drive. Andy Wright made such a fantastic job at that time with some tricky access and layout involved. We contacted Andy again last autumn to arrange for him to lay a new patio in our back garden. Once again his workmanship and attention to detail is second to none and we are delighted with the end result just as we were previously. We cannot recommend Andy and Isle Landscapers enough. Many thanks from us both, Andy.

Contacted East Sussex Trading Standards and Elizabeth called me about my issues with Octopus Energy and their operating systems Kraken steeling money from me. Told them I was hiring an accountant, at my expense of £960 to verify their false accounting practices- I have the proof and they are not interested.

You are letting this company scam tons of people out their heard earned money?? Why??

Isn't it the case that Trading Standards are supposed to protect a consumer from companies who wilfully mis-advertise and mis-sell ?
Clearly not. As Kirsten Hotchkiss has the attitude of ''The company say this is the case, therefore it is''

She no doubt sleeps well after doing nothing for anyone all day.

2 months ago I contacted themm about gardening express as I have received plants that turned up broken in rooted and nearly dead! I have received nothing from them!

Aren’t these people suppose to protect us, the British people!!!

Absolute Joke

Where are they? What are they doing all day? They are a government funded institution and cost thousands, but no one seems to do any work, got a problem? Trading standards just pass you on to CAB, an unpaid amateur organisation run by volunteers. You can sit on the phone for weeks and get nowhere or email them and get unhelpful useless unqualified or out of date contact information. Or you can go to unmanned offices, make an appointment and get no advice from an unqualified but kindly volunteers. I have tried 4 of them having been told I could get free legal advice, ha! I have paid solicitors for legal advice and got none. Why is the public paying for these useless ombudsman and other institutions that lead to hair tearing anger and nothing else?

Big fat tax payer funded scam outfit that does nothing to protect Joe Public. All it does is protect the scam corps like ebay/amazon. The police should investigate who is bunging who with ££££££££s for silence.

No one appears to have reviewed this organisation so I thought I'd be the first. I had an issue with a company that both maintained and claimed that their products were Made in Britain, and they even had the official registered trade and kite from the 'Made in Britain' organisation. I found out that the products were actually manufactured and made in China, and so I then approached both the Advertising and Trading Standards, supported with document and photo evidence. Reporting to the Advertising Standards was great and very direct, however not so good with Trading Standards. The CTSI wants to channel ALL reports and complaints through the Citizens Advice Bureau - a group of part time volunteers, who are only equipped to advise and not resolve. Why the CAB is the gateway to all complaints is beyond me. The CTSI has a cast of thousands - it has a management team, a board, a council, presidents and vice presidents, but what do they all do? The CTSI seems to be an impotent institution, full of personel who don't seem to want to tackle fraudulent trading direcly. It is therefore unsurprising that the general public are forced to using Social Media through the likes of Trust Pilot, TripAdvisor and Google reviews to report and spread the word of rogue traders.
