I feel like this is high pressure selling. We took out a 10 year service plan on our solar panels, fine I have no problem with that. We then had a visit from a compliance manager who said we needed a fire protection device fitted, again no problem with that, then we needed a voltage optimiser which would apparently save us money. This was incorrectly installed, somebody came out today, we've had UK Power Network out, gone several hours with no power. I've been in tears as has my husband. This device that should save us money has ended up adding 50% to our electricity bill in less than 12 hours, considering we have solar panels & a battery we use use very little electricity from the grid.
On top of that we took a boiler service plan out, they rang to arrange a service asked if it was gas or electric. It's gas,oh we'll have to get back to you then, we then thought what if that boiler breaks down in the middle of winter will they leave us with no heat or hot water for a week, I know for a fact the company we were previously with will get to us within a couple of hours. We did eventually manage to cancel this.
My advice don't use them, we're now stuck in a 10 year service plan & with an optimiser that's costing us more money.
Just to add to this, we monitored the voltage optimiser for 24 hours & suddenly our energy consumption went from about 0.4kw when we have just the basics running to over 10kw. It drained the battery used all the 3kw we were generating & was drawing energy from the grid. We ended up getting a local electrician to come & remove it.

My solar panel system stopped working in January 2026. Since then I have been trying to get it repaired. Companies I contacted insisted on my having scaffolding erected before they would come and look at the system. I finally found a company on the internet, Switchable, and they arranged for TGP to contact me for a free survey. They came the next day, explained what was wrong and told me what they would do to repair it. Two very pleasant and competent young men, Alfie and Harrison, came the next working day and repaired the system, accessing the roof using only a ladder. They worked very efficiently, without a break everything seems to be working correctly again. I would certainly recommend TGP to anyone having a problem with their solar panel system.

TGP provided an excellent level of service in all respects. their staff were knowledgeable and professional in all respects.

Unsolicited phone calls. I have no history with TGP, and do not want to deal with them. But they want to do do free assessment on my solar system? Does TGP not subscribe to the Telephone Preference Service? Where do they get my details from? Industry regulator is clearly not doing his job either!. Looks like pressure selling to me.

our heat pump has been doing for some time, our contract with think green partners has finally got the heat pump working! This is the first time in a long while we have found a company to trust and who stick to their word

Good so far. They've identified the problem with my batteries which has been stopping them charging properly.

They do still have to come back with the part and install it in a couple of weeks so I am looking forward to having a fully functioning system again then.

I had issues with my solar panel system showing zero output which was traced to a faulty inverter, a vital part of the system. I contacted Think Green from a Google search and within a few days a new inverter was fitted.

TGP are an excellent organisation to deal with. You can rely on the information they give you - they only sell you services/equipment you require and equally tell you what services/equipment you do not require. The fitters who have carried out work on my PV solar system have been very efficient and TIDY. They arrive at the arranged time - if they are able to come earlier or are delayed, they make contact.

Was contacted by this company over the phone come to my property and all was great I thought they was expensive but thought all must be worth it since the system was installed it has failed to work and they send engineers who don’t have a clue I have since had another company rectify there work and working fine they will lie and tell you anything I would avoid this company and wish I had looked at the reviews first

After falling prey to previous rogue companies that have disappeared when needed, TGP are in a league above. Their smart, polite and professional staff give me confidence that they will still be around if needed in the last ten years of my FIT period. Regular inspections and calls from their compliant team are reassuring.

I am writing to complain about the conduct of one of your engineers, John Henderson.

I requested an engineer to come and give us, me and my elderly mum, a no obligation quote for a clean and service of my solar panels and equipment.
On arrival John spent ages showing us power points and trying to sell us a voltage optimiser as he said the voltage into the house is too high which is affecting the use of the solar.
After a while and thinking that we were not going to learn anything else, information overload! I stopped his presentation stating that we needed time to discuss and research what he had told us. I thanked him for coming and said we would contact him if interested.
John ignored me and carried on showing power points and repeating what he had already told us.
John then said he would go outside and make some calls for ten minutes before returning to hear our decision. I asked him not to come back as we needed time to decide and weren’t going to make a decision today.
John then became very pushy asking why we needed to do any research as he had just given us all the facts, he then started showing us more power points, phoned head office, dropped the price, offered to help us to get a no interest credit card.
I must have asked John to leave about 10 times. My 83 year old mother also asked him to leave. John said there is something wrong with you! He also asked why I was being so horrible to him. I told him because he was being too pushy and wouldn’t leave.
John asked if I expected him to tell me what was wrong with my solar set up for free. I said yes that it was a no obligation quote to fix whatever may be wrong and because he was being so pushy I wasn’t going to buy anything off him.
John finally left after my mum shut herself in her bedroom and I opened the door and stood in the back garden so people could hear me telling him to get out of my house. I thought at one point I was going to have to call the police.
We both felt very intimidated and vulnerable and were shaking after he left.

This is the sort of aggressive and high pressure sales tactic that needs to be reported to trading standards.

I also noticed that this particular engineer has been mentioned on Trust Pilot for being aggressive in his sales tactics.

It is early days, but first impressions have been very good. I have found all the staff that I have connected with to be efficient and polite. Service so far has been excellent

Had issues on my battery system - Ricky came out and checked all my system and took the time to explain how it’s all running and what the issue was. No pressure tactics like most companies and got the issue resolved promptly. Installers came and did an amazing job.

They charge VERY high prices compared to other firms for doing the same job . They bamboozle you with the prices and what needs doing I was charged way higher than I understood .
According to my bank what they are doing [is a good job for some people and very much scamming old vulnerable people ] which is Bad Practice but not illegal.
I would advise ANYONE who is approached by them to get quotes from other firms and leave them well alone .That's a very polite way of puting what I think of them.
