I often buy from The Model Centre.

I like the way I can make multiple low value purchases (eg: to take advantage of a flash discount sale or other special offer) and TMC will hold them in a Trunk for me until I have reached a decent goods value and can call them in.

I’ve just returned to Railway modelling after a very long time, and have found TMC an Excellent retailer, with competitive pricing and some excellent products.
I purchased some ‘National Benzole’ tank wagons, and decided to have them weathered, as I was a little afraid to do this myself, I went for the ‘medium weathering’ option.
They arrived today, and I have to say I’m really impressed, the originals were very clean and shiny! And didn’t look right for my planned railway.
Now I have the perfect wagons IMHO.

TMC. Great selection of models and some at very competitive prices that I am happy to pay.

I have just sold a large and varied collection of n-gauge items after the owner died. Jonathan has been unfailingly responsive and helpful and the money offered was more than a number of other dealers were willing to pay. I would strongly recommend TMC.

My order consisted of a lot of smaller items such as glass jars of paint and liquid plastic cement in glass bottles. Each item was individually wrapped in bubble wrap and then taped round. When the parcel arrived and unwrapped all the items had arrived in perfect condition. Thanks to who-ever packed my order ready for dispatch. The items were all discounted in the TMC sale and were a very good price.

Generally, I have been very pleased with my many purchases over the years from TMC.

But my most recent purchase was disappointing to say the least.

Firstly, it took 7 weeks from placing my order to delivery. In the main this was due to poor internal communication at TMC.

Secondly, the quality of the product. I ordered 7 EFE JIAs in n scale, 5 of which were to be weathered. The weathering was perfectly fine but the models themselves are atrocious. None of the 7 would remain on the track. On inspection this was due to insufficient space between bogie and body to allow the bogie to turn when negotiating curved track, even 15" radius. This model is not fit for purpose and should be withdrawn from sale.
I have since found that other modellers have had the same problem with this model and while I appreciate that TMC are not the only retailer of this model, they and others are probably already aware of the problems and should have had the decency to refuse to sell such a dreadful product.
It is particularly annoying since I have paid extra for 5 of the models to be weathered.

I have used TMC a number of times and their service is excellent. When I visited their staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, a definite 5 star company.

I bought a second hand Hornby Elite controller from TMC, delivery was on time, however the after sales service has been first class. As I had switched from bluetooth control to this, I have had several conversations on technical questions, and each time excellent, would fully recommend TMC

This is a great model and TMC fitted sound.
There is a question about stay-alive with which TMC are dealing and they are good communicators

the people were very responsive to my questions and emails and provided great service. they let me know an item was out of stock so i could make a substitution for it. the items were promptly shipped and i was able to track their progress. the prices were very competitive and a great value. i will order again from them with no hesitation

The despatch was prompt & delivered to W. Australia within 3 weeks. However, I do not understand why a VAT charge of 8.06 pounds stg appears on the invoice when items to Australia are meant to be VAT exempt. Would you please explain.
