Increase in price on arrival and damaged vehicle
I enquired about a vehicle that was advertised on their website, all was great , great member of staff helped me . I made an appointment to view the vehicle, and that’s when it all went wrong.
On arrival I was kept waiting for approximately 10 minutes. The salesman then came over and introduced himself , he then shown me the sales details of the car and to my surprise the price of the car had increased by £500 pounds.
They took my car away for a valuation and kept me waiting for another 10-15 minutes why they did this and why the car was been finished been valeted.
On return , the vehicle was shown to me and I was left to look around it . First impression was it was nice. Then u noticed a funny smell in the car , like a paint smell. I lifted the bonnet to look around the engine ( I’m a fully trained main dealer mechanic for (40 years) and the engine bay was full of a white powder that looked very similar to body filler , I’m not saying it was , but it looked very similar. I then noticed body damaged to the front bumper and the front grill was all damaged and broken away . I went back into see the salesman who then started to pull my car apart and offered me a £1000 less on the part exchange. I then pointed out the damage on the selling vehicle and he told me that they wouldn’t paint the front bumper and he got me an estimate for ME to fix the front grill. At this point with the price increase and damage found , I felt I was shown the door very quickly. I was a cash buyer . Please be very wary of these people and don’t be taken in by the nice show room

Sytner Group – A Let Down to the Motor Trade
As someone who operates in the motor trade professionally, it takes a lot for me to go public with a complaint—but the level of service I’ve just experienced from Sytner Select Warrington, part of the Sytner Group, has been unacceptable and has directly impacted my business, both financially and reputationally.
I initially spoke with Darren Kitching, followed by Adam (who I’m told is his manager), and finally Martin Clever. The issue revolves around a vehicle I had been chasing for over a week. Despite the reserve not being met, I was led to believe there was still a chance to acquire the vehicle. I followed up diligently, made multiple attempts to secure it, and even took a deposit from my own customer in good faith.
Only today—after being ignored for days—was I informed by Martin that the car has now been transported to yet another auction, without any warning, discussion, or consideration for the situation I’d been placed in. This level of disregard is shocking from a group as large and (supposedly) reputable as Sytner.
To summarise:
* I chased the vehicle for days.
* Took a deposit from a customer, believing Sytner would act professionally.
* Was finally told—without consultation—that the car was sent to auction.
* Followed up with professional messages asking for a solution.
* Was ignored for two days before a brief phone call today that offered no resolution, just confirmation the vehicle is now going elsewhere.
This situation has left me out of pocket and embarrassed in front of a customer I gave my word to. For a company of Sytner’s stature to behave in such a careless, unprofessional manner is nothing short of disgraceful.
To all my fellow traders: exercise caution when dealing with Sytner Select Warrington. This is the level of “support” and “integrity” they offer to motor traders.
I gave them every chance to resolve this behind closed doors, but they’ve shown me nothing but poor communication, empty promises, and zero accountability.
