I worked away with Summer Takeover in 2019 (before all this covid rubbish) and had such a good time.

My rep Rachel would pop in to check how we’re getting on and help us out with our little dramas 😅

Seriously thinking about doing another season now things are getting back to normality.

Two years ago I did a summer season in Magaluf with Summer takeover. Pete the rep was helpful and got me a job at Red Lion behind the bar then I went on to do ticket sales when it got really busy. I’m getting itchy feet again and thinking about doing another season in Magaluf.

Hi folks, make sure you read all the terms and conditions before handing over your details, I learnt that the hard way. Take your time and read all of the information given, so you can use it to your advantage and make an informed decision before handing your bank details to a company that makes it as difficult as possible to understand their method for payment.
Top tips
1. When you click to pay your £1 reservation fee, this signs you up to your full payment plan, for me was around £800.
2. £49 cancellation fee.
3. The time limit that pushes you along, and the only a few places left sign is there to make you make a quick decision, so don't panic, if it runs out, you can go back and do it again.
4. Your first payment is a few days after your £1 payment.
5. Their offices aren't open on weekends so take that into account when trying to book/cancel.

In our experience, this web site entices young travellers to part with £1 (which now says £50!) as a deposit to secure a job abroad! This initial fee will turn into hundreds of pounds for what seems to be very poor experiences abroad (Please read the 'Mums Net', 'Trust Pilot' and 'TheStudentRoom' reviews before deciding to purchase, so you are fully informed!). It's very difficult to find the cancellation fee on the web site, which is £49 ( search summertakeover.com terms and conditions ). The company claims they use a live booking system and that's why they say 'We pay a £49 non-refundable deposit'. This practice is illegal in the UK as a limited company must give 14 day cooling off period for goods/services purchased. Search gov.uk accepting returns and giving refunds.
Looking at the appalling reviews left by others on the state of the accommodation alone that they provide, it is very unlikely in my view that they are using a live booking system and being charged immediately!
Trading Standards are aware of this company and its parent FDT TRAVEL LTD, Company number 11952759, based on a number of complaints they are investigating their trading practices. This company has very low financials and two employees listed. Suggest avoid at all costs. Please do not get fooled by a note from David (he's one of the directors) saying he will look into it following this review I've already been in contact with them! AVOID!

After going to Magaluf with Summer Takeover last summer I’m really thinking about going again this summer but choosing maybe ibiza or Zante.
What I liked about Magaluf was I had already been there on holiday a few times so I already new my way round. The Summer Takeover Rep Aden was very helpful getting me my job as an event rep on the Magaluf Full Moon Party and as a sales rep on a ticket stand on the beach after he took me down to the Magaluf Boxoffice recruitment day. What I liked best was I enjoyed meeting new people everyday who were on holiday and partying with them on the events on the night time. If you have no ties I 100 % recommend doing a summer season. Now I just need to decide which resort to choose for this summer...

Last year I spent a season in Zante, and going with summer takeover made the experience possible and just extremely fun.

The reps were helpful and never far away, they are always thinking of new ways to make the days and more importantly the NIGHTS! memorable.

you are put into cool group-chats that involve everyone heading off to your chosen destination, no matter if its Zante, Magaluf or the famous Ibiza!
you will get to know everyone before your summer starts.

If you are stuck working 40 hours a week at the same place doing the same boring, repetitive job then get booked and get partying! its as easy as that.

I went to Zante with this company in 2020 and had a great time. The reps met us at the airport moved us into our accommodation which was alot better than I thought it would be and was a much better standard than the normal workers accommodation. I shared with 2 girls I met in the summer takeover chat group. After a week of partying I got a job working as a shot girl for tidal boat party and also did abit of hostess work. They have offered me my job back for next summer and I’m really thinking about going back for summer 2022. One tip I would give is be prepared with high factor sun tan cream it’s so hot July and august and was like a lobster for a few days. I always wanted to do a summer season abroad. After having a look at a few companies a friend told me about this one. I didn't know exactly where I wanted to go, just that it was in the sun and out of the UK! I started an application with them online and requested a call back for more info. A rep called Aiden gave me a call back on the same day. He was brilliant, gave me lots of useful information about all the resorts and an insight into what to expect working over there and that was it! Later that night I was signed up and secured my place to Magaluf!

The online rep support before I arrived was amazing! I got to know the other recruits even before I arrived through the social groups the reps set up for us. I received my Welcome Pack after my 1st instalment, which got me buzzing!

I met up with another recruit and we flew from London, both wearing our Takeover t-shirts and wristbands! Our transfer already sorted, with thanks to our rep, we were on route to Magaluf!

One of the in-resort Reps Shannon met us at our accommodation. The whole process was smooth, fun, and very exciting! We were all there in the sunshine, about to move into a new apartment in a foreign country, excited to get out and explore!

The reps both online and in-resort were brilliant. They were always reachable and helped me out a lot. It being my 1st time doing anything like this I felt very looked after and never felt alone! The first week they had planned for us was mad! Boat parties, bar crawls and even a day playing drinking mini-golf (I nearly won!). They helped us all with job trials, getting around, one-on-one training and they know how to show you a good time! After the 1st month I extended my stay weekly.

I would highly recommend this company if your thinking about doing something like this! There support throughout has been A++ and best of all they know how to show you a good time! If you have never done anything like this before and you want to, word of advice, do it! I met some amazing people, learnt many new skills and had some epic parties!

I secured my place with summer takeover a few months ago and i cant thank the team enough, they have been great help. Cant wait to be going away this summer!!!

I signed up with up with summer takeover to go abroad next summer and so far the reps have been really helpful and reassured me on everything as being pretty nervous coming out by myself, they instantly added me into the group chats and have started to get to know people before I fly ☺️ I highly recommend Summer takeover if your not sure on how to work abroad!!

I booked my place to go to zante in June with summer takeover, the reps Shannon and Aden have been really helpful and gave me all the information I needed. Im now really looking forward to my new adventure in the sun ☺️ roll on summer 2022

Shannon one of the reps is an incredible member of staff, totally understood that i have never done anything like this before answered the questions i had, but now unfortunately i won’t be able to make it due to some issues, Shannon was very understanding and still made me feel welcome to try again in the future, many thanks x

Scam, a real scam
I paid £1 and after that I couldn’t cancel , They had told me to pay a « cancellation fee » of ourse I refuse to pay £49 to cancel as that is a scam!? Then they kept trying to debit 100s out of my card and it’s very very unfair, I had to cancel my card and reissue a new one, I’m a student, having them do this could have rendered me broke for a while, I tried to contact a member of their staff but they were completely useless and they told me to pay the £49 , there is no warning at registration else I wouldn’t have registered !!!
This company is scum.

I was quite nervous when signing up for summer takeover but after talking with one of the reps Shannon I have become more excited as it’s my first time out of the UK in years! Can’t wait for summer 2022!

First time with company and felt so nervous but when got chatting to shannon one of the reps i feel at ease and prepared and ready to go if it wadnt for the incredible staff they have i wouldnt be going ahead so thank you and cant wiat to see you all
