Paid £149 for diagnostics — incorrect diagnosis and no aftercare
Paid £149 for a diagnosis, but the fault remains and MINI won’t re-investigate
We had a persistent warning light on our MINI Countryman that we’d been unable to resolve. Before booking it in, we spoke to Stratstone MINI Milton Keynes and were assured its diagnostic service would definitely identify the fault.
We paid £149 for MINI’s specialist diagnostic expertise. We wanted the cause of the warning light identified, not a repair.
MINI diagnosed a faulty low-pressure fuel pump and quoted £769.56 to replace it. Because of the cost, we bought the recommended part and had a local mechanic fit it. A week later, the engine warning light came back. The diagnosis and recommended repair have not resolved the problem.
We contacted MINI to explain what had happened and ask them to investigate further. They refused to re-diagnose the car and told us, in effect, that we should have paid them to carry out the repair.
The problem remains unresolved, and MINI is refusing to investigate further unless we pay again. We don’t think that’s fair.
Stratstone MINI Milton Keynes, please take the car back in, identify the cause of the warning light and help us reach a fair resolution.
