A Very Disappointing Experience for an Important Family Occasion

I have used StayVista multiple times in the past, including for corporate outings, and have recommended it to friends and family. Unfortunately, this experience has completely changed my view of the company.

We had booked a StayVista property for my mother's 75th birthday. The team was fully aware of how important the occasion was and that our family was coming together specifically to celebrate it. Despite this, several commitments made at the time of booking were not honoured.

The problems included issues with the promised decoration, unclear and misleading communication around meal policies, and poor coordination between the booking team and the property operations team. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of ownership when things started going wrong.

To be fair, one senior member of the team eventually came forward, personally spoke to us, apologised, acknowledged the seriousness of the situation and genuinely tried to resolve the issues. I appreciated that effort and the willingness to take accountability.

Unfortunately, it was already too late. The birthday celebration had been disrupted, and the moment we had planned for months had already passed.

That is the fundamental problem with this kind of service failure. A refund, discount, complimentary service or compensation cannot recreate an important family moment that has already been lost.

What concerns me even more is that the issues appeared to be systemic rather than a one-off mistake. There seemed to be a disconnect between what was promised during booking and what the operations team actually delivered. When something goes wrong, there needs to be clear ownership across the organisation, not just an attempt to fix the problem after the customer has already suffered.

I understand that mistakes happen in any business. What matters is how the organisation prevents them and takes responsibility when they happen. In this case, I felt that the processes and accountability simply weren't strong enough for an occasion of this importance.

I am particularly disappointed because I had trusted StayVista enough to repeatedly use and recommend the platform. After this experience, I will unfortunately not be recommending or using StayVista again.

The property may be good, but for an important family occasion, I would strongly suggest considering alternate booking platforms where you can have greater confidence that commitments will actually be delivered.

Extremely disappointing first experience with StayVista. I booked a villa for around ₹85,000 for an important celebration, only to be told the very next day that it was unavailable due to a “technical glitch.” Surprisingly, the SAME property continued to show as available on their website for larger room configurations.

I’ve spent hours trying to resolve this. What is particularly frustrating is that StayVista themselves are sending me alternative properties that have a minimum two-night stay and telling me they can speak to the owners to accommodate us for one night and negotiate the price. However, when I find two-night-minimum properties that I actually like and ask them to speak to those owners in exactly the same way, they are simply not willing to do so. I genuinely do not understand this inconsistency.

The alternatives being offered are either not comparable to what I originally booked or are now significantly more expensive, with no meaningful compensation being offered for an issue entirely from their end.

A refund does not solve the problem when an ₹85,000 confirmed booking has disrupted an entire celebration and comparable properties are now more expensive.

The issue is STILL unresolved. If anyone from StayVista’s senior management or escalation team sees this, I genuinely request you to intervene because I am exhausted trying to get a reasonable solution.

If there are natural calamities around that region then also they will ask you to come but does not offer a refund to the customer. They take the full booking amount and then just don't reply to the customer.
Don't fall for their trap
for reservation they will speak to you on call very nicely and politely
Once the booking is done they will treat you as theire servants although we have paid the money
For cancellation you have to mail and request and plead them like nothing although the trains to that region has been cancelled by the government only and then also they will say sorry we can't do anything.and also says us that apko Jo Krna hai krlijiye
They are just there to take your money
They are worried about nothing
So it's a humble request to everyone not to book with Stay vista as they won't help you in your difficult situation and won't listen to the genuine concerns which the whole world knows

This has been, without question, one of the worst travel experiences my family has ever had, entirely due to StayVista's gross mismanagement and complete lack of customer care.

I had booked the villa months in advance for 12 family members, and we travelled all the way from Ahmedabad to Lonavala expecting the vacation we had planned. Instead, at midnight on 26 June, while we were already travelling, I received a simple text message stating that my booking had been cancelled because the property owner had decided to stay there instead.

This is absolutely unacceptable.

How can StayVista confirm a booking, take full payment, and then cancel it at the very last moment because the owner suddenly wants the property? This is not an unforeseen emergency—it is a complete failure of your booking and inventory management.

Horrible experience. Went to celebrate my wife's birthday with my infant. There was no caretaker of the property, no AC's working, and no water.

I spent 3 hours in this horrible villa before I was downgraded to another nearby StayVista villa and could never decorate the villa for the birthday celebration; and in the name of compensation, I was refunded the difference amount of the villa I booked and the downgraded villa.

Have celebrated every small or big ocassion over last 4 years with Stayvista. Service, quality of homes, and availability and reliability are the bighest usp.

Have to say StayVista is a really good brand. I booked a vacation home through them for new year party and the entire booking process was seamless. Very user-friendly, self-explanatory interface of their homepage. My stay experience was beyond my expectations. The property was well maintained, clean and the staff was very polite and professional. Absolutely gonna book again.

When it comes to amazing stay experiences I always book from stayvista. Wonderful services and well-maintained amenities.

Stayvista has one the best and luxe properties across India. Love the services, the staff and overall booking the property was a smooth experience.

The photos they use on their website do not reflect the true state of the property. Then they refuse to do anything about it. They hide behind anonymous emails so you never know with whom you are messaging. I have had to start legal action to get suitable redress.

Be careful of this website as they don't add true negative reviews!
