We recently purchased a property through the Starkey and Brown team and I wanted to leave a review to say how impressed we were with the service throughout.

Ben was super helpful from the very beginning. He arranged the viewing quickly, supported us through the negotiation process, and played a key role in helping us agree a price and secure the property. His communication was clear and proactive, which made a big difference.

I’d also like to mention Angle, who took over as sales progressor once the sale was agreed. She went out of her way to help during the process and even after completion. She was particularly helpful in tracking down and locating the garage key after the sale, which really showed her commitment and level of service.

Overall, we were really impressed with the support we received from start to finish. Thank you both for making the whole experience smooth and stress-free. Highly recommended.

What a great team Starkey and Brown have. Sold my property very quickly and then continued to keep me updated as we went along. When needed they gathered information and gave the gentle pushes that were needed. Would highly recommend them to anyone. Thank you Anita for looking after me so well

Scunthorpe branch starkey and Brown Avoid please anyone thinking of using these to rent their property through or anyone thinking of renting of them they are very bad at looking after tenants maintenance takes for ever endless phone calls for weeks on end .The last straw for me was in June I Had waited over a year and half for them to paint the front windows and doors and the back windows and doors the guy who came was called Danny he took 16 hrs to do the work it is a complete bogged job didn't sand down properly still can see where old paint was didn't undercoat or prime didn't use gloss like I asked for used dull matt and then missed areas completely and second visit damaged with paint Laura ashley blind in the bathroom. Complained to head of lettings Aimee Murphy who was so nasty and unprofessional and then I find out its her Partner who runs the maintenance side of things DS Projects. A week Later Kay Bardsley from lettings came to see what had been done and agreed it wasn't good and said she would get back to me over 12 weeks later still waiting ignored my emails about the problem and won't answer her phone. Im now putting a complaint into head of starkey and Brown and also the council are supporting me with this but the stress has made me ill and they dont care one bit I just wish my landlord had chosen someone better to manage the property as they are not fit for purpose I did rent direct from the landlord but because of failing heath after 9 years they put it in the hands of these imbeciles .PLEASE BE WARNED I HAVE JUST BEEN TOLD BY A CLOSE FRIEND WHO RENTED OF THEM THEY WAS JUST THE SAME TO THEM. AVOID.

Michael came with professional knowledge of the current market.
And the Team led by Angie made everything go so smoothly as they had promised.

Extremely Unprofessional and Immoral Conduct – A Warning to Fellow Investors

As very experienced property investors, we have dealt with numerous estate agents over the years, but we have never encountered a firm that has acted in such an unprofessional and frankly immoral manner.

After our offer on a property was accepted, the agent continued to allow viewings—without informing us. We submitted our mortgage application the same day and followed up promptly, yet there was no courtesy call, no email, and no transparency.

This kind of behaviour, particularly the allowance of gazumping after an accepted offer, is unacceptable and unethical. It shows a clear disregard for proper business conduct and respect for serious buyers.

We strongly advise others—especially fellow investors—to be extremely cautious when dealing with this firm. This experience will be reported across social media, property investor networks, and review platforms to ensure others are fully informed.

Proceed with great caution.
