Not one for usually writing or leaving a review but I feel in this instance it is only right to do so!
After getting the wife’s permission to buy a new shotgun I decided to just pop into Sportsman Exeter for a brief look at a potential candidate, what can I say an hour later after talking and going through a number of shotguns and having it fitted by the sales team I am the proud owner of a new Beretta shotgun which fits me a treat! I even look the part with a new skeet vest to match, all the gear and no idea springs to mind but a great visit to this well stocked shop, thank you sportsman!

Despite an initial minor issue with my new FX IMPACT M4 FAC .25, Ryan arranged an immediate swap and the replacement arrived at my local gunshop the very next day as promised.
A catch up with Tom Jordan also after the event proved that although the manufacture of the FX’s is purely out of The Sportsman’s control, the aftersales customer satisfaction certainly is . A really good job done by the team there . Keep it up . Thanks Darren

Bought myself a winter coat, extremely good quality, very pleased with purchase.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Shop is well stocked, clean and tidy. Highly recommend.

Went in to sportsman Exeter to look at tikka rifles in .308 and .223. Tom the salesman was fantastic, loads of advice, not pushy at all and gave me all the options I could go down. Left me with lots of thinking to do, but as soon as my variation comes back I will be in to place my order!!

I have been using the Dorset branch of Sportsman Gun Centre for many years, and I can honestly say the service provided has been fantastic. The knowledge of the staff is amazing, I swear there isn't much between them that they don't know about the shooting industry.
Looking forward to more visits to this wonderful shop and the amazing staff.

I recently bought a pair of wellies from
the Exeter branch, and the man in the shop could not have been more helpful.
I was very indecisive, and ended up trying on lots of different pairs, but the staff member was very patient with me, and knowledgeable on the boots too. Thank you so much, I will be back!

I was interested in purchasing a new scope from SGC dorchester branch .Dave "salesman"informed me he had the same model scope coming in "used" that would be half the price of the new scope. and quoted me a price which I accepted.when I arrived to collect the scope he pointed to a box on the counter and dissapeared "which I thought was suspicious". when I inspected the box which showed signs of ageing "the box was tatty and the labels discolouerd, the scope itself seemed to be ok showing minimal signs of wear. At the side of the box was a scruffy looking document which turned out to be the original invoice with the then new price.when I finally collared Dave regarding the invoice he stood with his mouth open and would not give an explanation why he now wanted full price for the used scope he had twice assured me I could have half price. as I was getting nowhere with Dave I approached Bert the ? "he was present when Dave had informed me of the half price scope" I was told by bert he would "have a look on the computer, which he did then informed me I could have the scope for £40 more than the price quoted!The answer was no!
The net result I had a 40 miles+ £20 pounds in fuel , and a day wasted .If ever there was a "caveat emptor"this is it.

I've been working closely with James on a number of issues recently and can only praise him and the firms response and timeliness in our interactions. The service level and breadth of knowledge at hand has been a real help. Would definitely use again.

I bought an stx liner on November 5th 2024 over the phone since that time of getting it i havnt been able to shoot a target the size of a car from then till today I’ve been trying to tiger out why my arc 22 superior heavy liner can’t shoot slug try stressing trying an trying at one point I wanted to splash the gun up over 180 pounds with of different slug I bought to a gun smith four times with no results the last guy today showed me that the barrel i have is bent he rolled it on a flat surface with a touch an it’s bowing in the middle I am so livid I am so discussed I’ve waste for mouth lost permissions due to this lost money due to not being able to do pest control

Poor quality control and poor service. Bought £2000 CLii rifle but the magazine failed to load the final round so I arranged a replacement via the dealer. I was advised that the replacement was sent out Monday 3rd direct from supplier. I sent mine back the same day. Mine arrived back, with the dealer 2 days later, tracked, confirmed. As of 8th I am still waiting for the replacement. How can I get 2 day delivery for £4 but a trader, used to send out loads of items cannot arrange delivery within a week.

Good comms and service when buying well-priced products. Dropped a star this time as one item showed stock yet couldn't be delivered in time for a birthday/Christmas present. Emails quickly answered and, amazingly, the product arrived in time for Christmas day.

As always, I have dealt with this company for over 20 years and have always found their staff to be very helpful, I ordered an item over the phone and had next day delivery, sure enough it arrived at 8:15 the following morning, thank you Sportsman gun centre for your first class service and customer care, just excellent.

Two orders, more than a year apart and both didn't go smoothly at all.
The first was an air gun moderator that simply never got delivered, attempts to contact customer services at the time fell on deaf ears as I received ZERO response.
The second, more recent shambles was an order that consisted of a shirt and a pair of trousers. Both items marked as "limited stock" at the time of ordering, which didn't seem to affect the lead time for trousers as they got delivered as expected. The packing slip that was included however read that the shirt was also picked for delivery in the same package. This was definitley not the case.
I did have a response from customer services this time, albeit extremely unhelpful basically telling me that the shirt had been delivered with the trousers and refused to listen that only the trousers were actually in the delivery. This resulted in being ignored after a few emails had been exchanged.
I've since written another enquiry to them giving them another chance to send the shirt or to issue a full refund, let's hope they can be bothered to reply!
I definitley will not be using them again - online shopping run by a bunch of cowboys.

I had to return a faulty item and was kept waiting for four months to get any action. Never once did these guys proactively contact me, leaving me without the item and having to do all the chasing. Promised actions never happened and I ended up demanding a refund instead. I shan’t be placing custom here again, there are plenty of gun shops that do even basic customer service better.

I can't thank Aboo, Gary and James enough. Very accommodating and patient in helping guide me to choose the right first gun for me. Very knowledgeable and hospitable. Highly recommend!

I bought an FX Impact M3 .25cal FAC air rifle on 26/01/2023 and the item has been problematic since day one. I persevered with their telephone support and finally gave in and sent the rifle back on 28/04/2023.
Called a few times asking when it will be repaired and ready for me to use and all I get is another two weeks or so. The date today is 11/09/2023 19 weeks and three days later, and they still have my rifle in for repair with no update despite my email I sent two days ago asking for an update.
Eventually got it back in mid-October 2023. They even had the cheek and audacity to charge me a £75 fee for their time to test the rifles zero. It still wasn’t right so eventually I had to seek help elsewhere like the Utah Airguns USA. Their knowledge of FX air rifles is far superior to the Sportsman Gun Centre.
You tell me, how should one feel about customer service and trust.

Won a gun at ATA Cup and James and team very kindly changed the woodwork to adjustable comb for me.
I turned up late in the day and they were extremely accommodating.
Brilliant service.

Original order 5/2022 and I am in the USA. Sportsman Gun Centre was willing to take my order! Lead time for my special order was one year. Order was shipped and was incorrect. Sportsman Gun Centre reordered with another approx year lead time. Mr Harry Ward handled my reorder and did a superb job to rectify the order.

Purchased a lovely ‘brand new’ Strasser 243 rifle last year from the Doreset Branch, which to be fair the team did a good job in keeping hold for a year due to a delay in change of address for FAC.

Upon collection & through updates prior to this I was informed that I would receive some kind of ‘deal’ which was not upheld.

The problems really started to arise, once I attempted to zero in & due to the fore end & barrel touching (this should have been a floating barrel) it was making my shot placement erratic… I called the shop to explain this & seek advice, however I was met with the attitude that this isn’t an issue & I would have to adapt my shooting position to a less stable position & should i insist on having a bipod to install a tapping further down the fore end (not in the normal position) to counter act this. They then agreed to shave some of forend down to widen the gap to create a floating barrel - their initial response was that I would need to pay for this amendment on a ‘brand new rifle’ they then agreed to do this free of charge after i sought further advice from different gun smiths.

Then then took this back & shaved the fore end as per request which took a further week to do so after being informed this would have been a quick turn around - when dropping the rifle off a member of staff gave a care free attitude & said ‘this will be done when it’s done’. After chasing multiple times I collected the rifle a week later, the issue still remained & I was met with the same attitude as previous visits.

I made the decision to return the rifle the next day for a refund & overheard one of the staff members make some very unprofessional remarks towards & the situation.

Whilst this situation was ongoing I had been in contact with Strasser & was informed the gun in question was actually 10 years old (this was sold to me as a brand new gun)

Overall this was a very negative experience from the staff there & it seemed as if the staff were only interested in receiving my money, once the transactions were complete they weren’t overly interested. I certainly wouldn’t recommend this shop to anyone else or returning in the future.

I will say the chap who served me originally (I believe his name was Andy) was very good, apologetic & actually cared so these comments are no way a reflection on his work towards a very shocking experience.

I feel i was insulted with the amount of money i was offered for a trade in Air rifle. The rifle was approx. £800 new was in immaculate condition, re sale value in store would have been approx. £650. I was offered £150.
The rifle also had a silencer, scope and mounts.
I do understand they need to make a profit, but i feel it was an insult. Its not as if i was a stranger to the store. I would rather they said, we don't want to buy it. Now i now why there is virtually no used guns on their website. I wont be buying an Air rifle from them in the future.
