Took my 3 series to Specialist Cars Stevenage to have the Advanced Eye dash cam fitted. As I was driving home I noticed dirty marks on the trim covering the "A "Pillar. I also noticed that the trim had not been refitted correctly and there was a gap where the trim meets the roof lining. When I opened the boot I noticed a scraping noise when the boot was opened and closed.
The next day I returned to the dealer, by which time the camera was no longer working. The service rep managed to fix the issue with the boot by adjusting the trim adjacent to the fuse box. He told me that the trim by the "A" pillar had been refitted correctly but I disputed this. The car went into the workshop to see why the camera was no longer working. They found that the camera had blown 2 fuses. This was due to a wire being left exposed when they fitted the camera. This caused a short circuit. After being at the dealership for about 2 hours the work was completed. The service rep simply came to me and said "it's all done, your car is outside" NOT ONE WORD OF APOLOGY for the fact that I had a round trip of 45 miles to return the vehicle and wasted a total of 3 hours of my time due to their errors. When I got in my car the trim by the "A" pillar had miraculously been fitted correctly with no gap at the top.

Urgent warning light regarding parking brake failure on wife's BMW. Took it to Specialist Cars Stevenage to check it was safe for her to drive. Disinterested chap on reception said it would be at least 48hrs before they'd even look at it. Went around corner to German car independent and got great service. Decent car, but such bad service team I'll never buy again.

Car went in for a routine oil change, came out with more error messages on the dashboard than I'd ever seen before as I drove off their forecourt.

Took it straight back but as luck would have it all these errors occurred 1 mile after they finished their service and oil change, so nothing to do with them 🙄

I don't mind paying a premium for a better quality service, but this isn't a quality service. Find somewhere else if you can.

Booked the service with them month and a half ago and still made me wait for 5 hours for service and MOT. Appaling customer service. Will never deal with speacialist cars in luton again.

Smooth new car purchasing experience. I walked in off the street, perused and was not pressured at all. When I asked for help I received it and was made to feel welcome as a potential new customer. I eventually purchased a car on the same day with limited sales pressure as my mind was made up when I heard the sports exhaust noise of the M5. The 1200 mile run in service went well also. I would give 5 stars but they changed the air pressure on the car, which brought up an error on the dash. I therefore had to replenish as per the instructions for the car. Overall recommended.

Firstly the good news , the Z4 is excellent , really really like the car

But ....BMW are an expensive upmarket brand , the little things count

No V5 , its over 4 weeks now , never known it take this long , and sales of cars are low at the moment , I am told the problem is with
BMW Stevenage not filing the change
Media books , again I have asked for the Media books to be sent ,
nothing , total none in stock , I will have to wait

The car is 51 k brand new , yes its a demo car , but the books should be with it ....

There are many good dealerships selling excellent BMW , I dont think this Branch is one of them

Just tried to book my Mini in for a service under the service plan only to notice it run out on 30th December. And although I know they are not duty bound to honour this 10 days later ( and although we started to enquire 2 days ago , and it was never mentioned) there was absolutely no discussion of what they could do to maybe help out a bit. It was a flat ‘ no ‘. The fact that we all know how much the service would actually cost them , good will , and the fact that my mini experience has now been brought to an end is of no concern to Specialist cars. Even a phone call or e mail to remind us the service plan was coming to an end wouldn’t have been a bad thing

Leanne Aradi in service was a star, called in to ask for some information regarding a new vehicle I just purchased and she went the extra mile.

Waste of Time- Very Poor Customer Service and Everything Else
I purchased a dash cam front and rear from them (at Kirkcaldy) and paid for the installation - they put the front dash cam in the front too low and crooked, and when they put the rear cam on, it was the wrong part - they installed the CABIN VIEW and not the rear camera. When that part came in, and installed, they had to fix the front cam as I told them it was installed in the wrong place and the fine for that would be £1000 and they would be paying! So that had to be redone. All worked great for two days, when the rear camera fell from the mounting and now they are fogging me off as to installing it correctly so it does not fall down again!! Said I would have to pay to have it put right!! Are they at it!! YES!! They never return calls! Waste of time!!!

I have revised my rating from a 1 to a 4 as I am pleased to say that Specialist Cars has been very good and installed the rear dash cam to a much better position. Now the picture on screen is very crisp and clear, and hopefully it will not fall off the window. I will say I was very pleased they did take the time to resolve the matter and Rob that installed the camera to the rear was honest in stating that he was not familiar with the set up process, ie settings as they usually do not attend to that area. However we both had a go at the settings, and discovered how to set other than default settings, and I am pleased that this situation is now much better.

The worst company I have ever experienced in my 20 years plus of driving .Please please dont ever have your car serviced here they will quote u a fixed price then suddenly increase it astronomically . They will not return your phone calls-they are constantly rude -they are a shambolic company with no ethics and morals - will be writing a blog about them soon .

Booked car in for service with Mini Tring and received very good customer service, nice relaxed atmosphere in showroom and quick completion of works

My car was taken to Specialist Cars Stevenage on Wednesday evening after showing an oil level warning light.It took 48hours before anyone looked at the fault and there was a complete lack of communication regarding progress in dealing with the fault.Every time it was left to me to chase the dealer who blamed the delay on the volume of recalls they were dealing with (which does not exactly inspire confidence in BMWs!). Having promised to have the car ready for collection by 12 on Saturday,yet again no one called to confirm the work was complete.I have arrived at 3pm to collect my car and have been told there will now be a delay of at least 30 minutes in returning my car as they are short staffed!! This is a very poor example of customer service,extremely disapointing and not what I would expect of the brand.

Specialist cars have got us some great cars but the labour rates are getting ridiculously high. My advice is they will get you a good quality car but service and mot it elsewhere and you will save a fortune.

I ordered a car in January, the brochure said 4 years warranty. Apparently Renault changed that to 3 years shortly after. Neither Renault or the dealership (Specialist Cars Renault Aberdeen) did inform me of that change during the long 6 months of lead time. When I picked up the car, they told me, this has changed. I contested that and said, I wanted what I ordered. A few days later the salesman (Bill Stewart) assured me, that they had checked with Renault and yes, my car came with 4 years of warranty. Stupid me did get nothing in writing. So today I found out that my car has 36 months of warranty.
I have totally lost trust in this dealership and Specialist Cars in general.

The customer service we received at the specialist cars BMW in Stevenage was truly awful, well below the standard of what should be expected from a BMW-approved dealer.
We brought our BMW for a recall, left it there in the morning and agreed when they offered a courtesy service wash. What a mistake.......When we left the car the paint work on the bonnet was in excellent order. When we collected the car at the end of the day, we noticed that there were multiple area of flaked paint on the bonnet and a big scratch on the side.
We phoned as soon as back home, sent pictures and brought the car back the day after.
One of the staff looked at the damages, took pictures and told us that one of their manager will contact us to discuss the matter.
Despite multiple phone calls and mail , we had to wait nearly 3 weeks before we were told that the damages were already done when we brought the car etc... Complete lies , explanation given based on pure speculation in attempt to deflect responsibilities and condescending emails from one of their manager.
I would avoid to use this dealer at any cost in the future

First time I've used Specialist Cars Volkswagen ( Kirkcaldy ) they are friendly, helpful and efficient. Buying an almost new car for my wife there was a very pleasant experience , I'll certainly go back when it's time to change my car.

SpecialistCars BMW, Stevenage were exemplary in supporting me with the purchase of a new BMW. Every member of the team I came across was not only prompt and courteous, but also took the time to explain every facet of the vehicle.

Gary Hampton demonstrated a depth of understanding about customer interests and specific additions to the vehicle that truly enhance my driving experience. This combined with Kate (technical expert) walking me through the breadth of options and way to make best use of all the technology in the car, and I was left feeling here was a car sales showroom that really get customer service.

I would have no hesitation in recommending the company for their service and the cars they sell. Thanks also to Mick Donovan for his wise insight into the right car for me!
