Fantastic Inspiring SUS Takeover Event today. Great line-up and useful workshops. Fun day out highly recommend.

Well where to start. I’ve been looking to start playing bass for a while and decided ukulele bass was for me. My local shops didn’t have what I wanted so I decided SUS was the one to go to. Was it worth the traffic and the 3.5 hour drive you bet it was. We had a warm welcome and Romeo was brilliant. He listened to what I was thinking and then gave me several different styles and makes of bases to try. There was no pressure to pick a certain style or make and no pressure to make a decision. We felt we could take our time and we really appreciated that. I was able to keep trying different basses swapping between them which wasn’t an issue and this really helped me make my mind up. Then in walked a guy from Canada on his last day of his holiday. I was thinking he was going to buy a lovely electric uke but no I guess he just wanted to jam. He asked if he could try the bass I had decided on as he normally played bass. So he and Romeo had a mini jam session. We sat back on the very comfy sofa and just listened. Was great to hear both of them play. Romeo then helped my daughter to find a ukulele for her. He really put her at ease (she doesn’t do new people). Again he let her try different sizes and tunings of ukes but he could tell she wasn’t quite convinced. So he suggested a baritone. He started playing it and there was an instant smile. That was the one for her. I can’t recommend SUS enough. Really helpful staff. Relaxed atmosphere great knowledge and advice. Thank you. We will be returning.

Romeo hosted me really well and patiently took me through the options for my new tenor ukulele. I'm really pleased with the one I chose and was surprised at just how clear the differences were between different models and also between the different tone woods.

I took my new L Luthier Le Manga C along to lesson #2 of my beginners workshop series this morning, and our teacher was really impressed with it. I enjoyed the full, singing sound and also the space on the fretboard which is letting me finger the chords much more easily than I managed on my grandfather's 100 year old soprano.

I’ve been using Southern Ukulele Store for a few years now, multiple Ukulele’s purchased and I’ve also attended some of the sus takeover days. The staff’s knowledge and experience with all things Ukulele is excellent. Always very helpful with all my questions and I’ve always been happy with the advice they have given. I always end up leaving with a big smile on my face. Highly recommend a visit.

Uma UK-16ST Solid Spruce Top Tenor Ukulele w/Gigbag. This is my first Ukulele, but I though I’d get a good quality one to save upgrading later, I bought the Uma UK-16ST and was delighted at the quality and finish of it, the web pictures don’t do it justice, it’s a beautiful thing, and the bonus is that it was set up perfectly, tuned and ready to play straight out of the box. I also had strap pins fitted, just in case I’d prefer them. I’d never heard of Southern Ukulele’s before, and only found them after watching You Tube for Ukulele reviews. I glad I did as the purchasing process was so simple and efficient, ordered on Tuesday and was delivered Thursday, set up, modified and ready to play. Thanks to all at Southern Ukulele’s in anticipation at the pleasure this little instrument will bring

I really want to love and support these guys… but they do make it hard at times.

On both occasions I have ordered from their website only to be told days later that the item that I ordered is not available.
This is really frustrating as they were birthday gifts and I had no option but to accept their suggestions for alternatives.
On one occasion it was a black UBass rather than the desired red one and the other was a thinner ukulele strap rather than a heavy duty bass version.

When I complained about my experience they didn’t seem to be very apologetic and all they did say was that they know that there are problems with the website and that it is always best to phone first to check that the item is in stock.

Great products and set up when it works but they are let down by their website

Just bought a Flight Fireball Soprano that was exclusively made for Southern Ukulele store and it is amazing!🤩
The following day it arrived and I'm absolutely delighted with the choice. 🥰

Ordered from these guys because of their videos and reputation for individually setting up instruments. My initial order had an unforeseen issue, which Alex dealt with impeccably, and I re-ordered a different uke informed by advice from Romeo. The whole experience was very positive, with good set-up, fast shipping and friendly communication from folks who love ukuleles. Recommended!

I received a new KALA Contour baritone all solid mahogany today,with Alex’s strings fitted as recommended also strap buttons.The whole setup strings,action and frets were impeccably done and I couldn’t be happier so huge thanks to you guys at SUS.Ill be back 👍

I firstly need to mention that I'm a complete novice when it comes to playing a ukelele, and I had no intention of buying one up to a couple of months ago.

For years I'd tried to play a guitar but eventually got myself stuck in a rut with my progress, so I'd hung my guitar up where it gathered dust, as I'd lost interest. I didn't think I'd ever get pick it up again.
Just before Xmas a wall fixed ornament fell off the wall, and I didn't think I was able to repair it, so I tried to find a replacement but to no avail. Because of its shape, I thought something like a violin, or ukelele would do the job, so I eventually bought a cheap ukelele off the web. I wasn't fussed about its playability as it was going to be an ornament, but it was a tenor model made by Kala, and it included a basic tuition book. Having an interest in music I started to play a few chords, and in the process I noticed the good quality of the instrument that I'd purchased, and it was a nice size compared to a guitar. I suddenly found myself trying to find out more about ukeleles and what was available. My initial intention of fixing it to a wall as an ornament were dispelled. I now had another purpose, the spark had ignited a fire! My online searches eventually took me to the Southern Ukelele Store (sus) website and trawling my way through the different types finally took me to the baritone ukelele. Four strings, tuned like a guitar, with a wonderful tone. While I didn't seek advice from SUS I found that their website provided me with all of the info that I needed so I took the plunge and bought a Kala KA-BG baritone ukelele from them. It was one of their cheaper models but I'm well impressed with it, and although I've not mastered it (review maybe in 10 years time) it's encouraged me to learn again, not only with ukelele but also with my guitars. I now have another problem, I'm so impressed with this model, I'm wondering what the next model up in the Kala range would be like, or should I be looking at a different brand. I can see that I'll only be able to move on from this by taking a trip to their store to try a few out. I can't rush to do this yet mind, as I need to learn how to play it!

I’ve purchased 3 ukes now online from SUS truly providing a Super Ukulele Service experience. You get the actual ukulele photoed in the online shop, a YouTube review and sound sample from Alex, Romeo or Phil, next day delivery and thorough set up. The demo from Romeo sealed it for me getting the Fanner Jazzy 19 and this was followed up with info on strings/tuning from Alex and call from Phil on set up of floating bridge

I've been watching the YouTube videos for a while and decided to buy my uke from SUS as their advice had been pivotal in my decision. I ordered and Phil rang me to say there'd be a delay as the model wasn't in stock but promised that it would be the following day, true to his word it was and dispatched the same day, it appeared today exactly as it should be, tuned it up and can't leave it alone, thanks chaps! You've done me proud.

Fantastic morning at SUS!! Purchased a Millar T A 260 All Solid Acacia Uke. Always a warm welcome and excellent service and advice. This is my third Ukulele from SUS and Alex’s demo videos are brilliant to watch. Each one of my Ukuleles, the ANueNue, Kala and Millar were purchased after watching his demos, Alex really knows his stuff. A big thank you also to Romeo for setting up my Uke and all his advice. Really look forward to seeing you both again some time next year…and to anyone visiting SUS try to catch Romeo playing live, a great songwriter and musician. Thanks mate loved the evening.

Excellent experience, my stupidity in ordering the wrong size Uke was quickly resolved by Rob and Romeo. They then checked stock and found the one I wanted was available. It was sent that day and received the next. They both took me from feeling helpless once I realised my mistake to elated. Well done chaps. My first Uke (a Snail Tenor) is delightful and at an excellent price. Lifetime guitarist battling with a small neck ! 10/10

Top notch! Could not recommend more highly! Received my Flight Vanguard this morning, looks great, sounds great and a great experience throughout. From popping in a couple of weeks ago, just to have a look though to a speedy delivery this morning. Phil was very helpful, he answered all my novice questions which helped making the decision to wait for the one I really wanted to come back into stock. It was definitely the right choice! I recently purchased a Flight Pathfinder Baritone electric ukulele. It was delivered very quickly. The uke is amazing. You can't go wrong with Flight ukulele, especially from SUS. The guys are masters at customer service. They set the ukulele up perfectly for playing. Well, I gave it 5 stars just because I couldn't give it 6. The best store in the universe!

Answered all my questions promptly.
