Cannot recommend this company enough. I ended up buying a bridesmaid dress from them as was sold out everywhere and needed it for a wedding abroad. Had a bit of a nightmare as it got lost in the post but customer service was excellent and very reassuring. You know there’s a real person ready to respond which makes all the difference. Dress turned ip in the end and is in perfect condition and I can’t wait to wear it. Would 100% recommend.

I rent my precious wedding dress out with Something Borrowed and I am so pleased with the service! I couldn’t recommend renting out a wedding dress more with Something Borrowed - its a great little earner and also a fantastic, sustainable option for brides. If I knew about something borrowed before, I probably wouldn’t have bought a dress - I would have rented!

Christie has been kind and communicative throughout, and the dress itself ended up being one of the nicest quality I’ve ever worn, delivered well-packaged and beautifully cleaned and ironed ready to wear.

It’s a small business run with a lot of warmth and care, making it a sustainable option to dress in something wonderful and align with others for a special occasion, and it’s based on good faith and trusting renters to help this ecosystem, which also feels right.

Only 4 stars as there were some changes to the original order needed when other renters failed to return dresses and it affected the wedding day with some stress and concern ahead of time, and I myself almost accidentally returned mine late but Christie very kindly went out of her way to make the return easy to ensure a good service for the next customer. It’s a wonderful service that relies on customers to use it well, so please support it by being reliable and prompt – I imagine too many backup dresses would be expensive for this business to hold for emergencies, given the extremely high quality of the garments you’ll get!

What started as some small hiccups along the way, ended in a lot of stress right up until the morning of the wedding. I was a bridesmaid for my friends' wedding and she fell in love with one of the dresses that Something Borrowed had on their website. We thought that renting the dresses from here would make getting the bridesmaid dresses cheaper and less hassle, as the 4 bridesmaids live up and down the country which made dress shopping together, in-person difficult.

I opted to use Something Borrowed's try-on service as part of the process, as my dress size can differ depending on the brand. I asked to try on 3 different sizes of the same dress in the colour that the bride wanted for the final dresses. After requesting the try on, I was told that they couldn't provide what I'd requested, but could send me 2 sizes of the dress style I wanted, but in different colours, then another dress style with the correct colour in the remaining size I required. Whilst this was slightly annoying that I couldn't try on the dress that I wanted to wear on the day, at least I could try something on and get a good idea of what size I needed.

I received the dresses on time, tried them on and sent them back within a day and my postage tracking confirmed they received the dresses back quickly. Almost 2 weeks after they were confirmed as delivered, I was still waiting for my deposit to be refunded, which was quite a significant amount of money to be out of pocket from. I chased them for the refund and they replied with the excuse that they'd been busy and initiated the refund then and there, saying it would take a further week to reach my bank account.

A couple of weeks after I received the refund, They emailed me to say they'd refunded me too much, so I had to pay them back by buying something through their website again.

A couple of weeks before the wedding, they emailed me to confirm they were due to ship the dresses soon, but they told me I'd rented the dresses from 18th-25th July, when I'd actually asked for 23rd-30th July. The wedding was on the 26th, so had they not emailed I would have received the dresses early and been penalised for sending them back late. I had to go back through all of my confirmation emails to find proof that I had actually ordered them for the correct dates. They then confirmed that I was correct.

A week before the wedding, myself and 2 other bridesmaids received an email from Something Borrowed to say they could no longer provide us with the dress we requested because another bridal party hadn't sent theirs back. The best they could do was send me a dress in the right colour/style in a size too big for me, or a different style dress with the right size. I ended up asking to have both options sent to me.

I then received an email to say the dresses were going to arrive a day later than the date I'd rented them from, because they had to order one of the dresses from the supplier (I'm unsure why this wasn't done earlier). All the bridesmaids were very stressed at this point because it was cutting it fine to know whether we'd all have a dress for the day. A couple of us even had to go out and buy dresses as back ups, in case the alternative sized dresses that were sent didn't fit.

I ended up needing to put temporary stitches in one of the dresses for it to fit me then give the other dress to another bridesmaid, who had the same issue as me, but neither replacement dresses fit her. Because this bridesmaid lived hours away and could only arrive on the morning of the wedding, we had to just hope that the other dress fit her.

The whole process felt very disorganised and caused a lot of stress/worry for me, the bridesmaids and the bride. The bridesmaid dresses should have been the least of the bride's worries leading up to the wedding, but ended up being the biggest worry. Something Borrowed knew well in advance of the rental period and somehow didn't have any action plan for anything going wrong. I also don't understand why they left it so late to order a dress from their supplier to send to me, when they had plenty of time to do it in advance.

What frustrated me more is when I received apologies they constantly reminded me that they're a small business, which felt like a poor excuse for so many mistakes. I have a small business myself and know other people close to me that do too, and would never allow so many mistakes to happen.

Overall a very disappointing and stressful experience. I've given two stars because I managed to get a dress in the end, but not without significant struggle. I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone else looking to rent a dress.

The girls in the office were super helpful when I was stressing over getting an order in time for my son's wedding. They communicated brilliantly, made sure the deadlines were met and were incredibly friendly and responsive. Highly rated service!

Christie was super helpful with my request, which was niche as I just wanted to borrow an accessory of a particular dress. Communication was really clear, the item arrived in time and super easy returns process.

I had a wonderful experience with Something Borrowed, renting a wedding dress for the day at a fraction of the cost was so much better financially and also environmentally. I also loved wearing a dress that had been a part of so many other people’s special day, it felt extra magical.

My experience with Something borrowed was flawless. Great communication, timely and the dress was packaged well. I loved the dress. It came nicely ironed, no hanging threads or stains. I would 1000% order again and recommend.

I had the best time with my bridesmaids trying on the samples for my wedding in September 2025. The dresses which came were high quality, and sizes matched true to what we expected. The samples came in different colours which are offered on the website, which was nice to give a chance to see them in real life, and confirm the colour selection I am going for. I would 100% recommend Something Borrowed to anyone thinking of renting for their wedding, and my bridesmaids are looking forward to getting their selected dresses later in the year. It's a great no fuss option, and it's sustainable too!

I'm so glad I came across Something Borrowed whilst planning my wedding. I found my absolute dream dress thanks to them, and I still get compliments on it over a year later! The customer service was 10/10, I truly can't thank or recommend them enough x
