Very poor service, ordered some acrylic swatches they arrived with etching on them which was not in the description
Basically spoke to the company who said I could return them at my own cost but that I should have asked if they came pre engraved with the company logo
In response to Sketch Laser Cutting
Looking at one of the swatched that I purchased 3mm Acrylic - Glow In The Dark Phosphorescent Acrylic - Banana Yellow it does indeed show etching in your pictures, if I choose a different size it also shows the same etching, does that mean the bigger pieces also come with free engraving of your company's logo?
On your website you also sell samples example being Material Sample Set - Iridescent (x7 Swatches), it quite clearly says on this page that the swatches come with a hole and engraving
Other points to note regarding my order, it shows shipping as £10.95, I changed this to Royal Mail tracked 48 hours for £4. I placed my order on 30.12.2025 and received it on 08.01.2026, there was nothing on your website regarding Christmas closure, and I also chased this order on the 05.01.2026
You maybe a small business but will not be used by me again

Hi Brian, I’m sorry to see that you have left a misleading 1 star review for a hardworking small business who has treated you honestly and fairly.
For clarity -
You ordered a selection of acrylic sample swatches, which are £1 each including delivery. These are clearly sold as sample swatches, and are prepared to show the material finish and the results of laser cutting, engraving and etching. These swatches are not sold as blank sheets, and nowhere is it stated that they are.
As Maria kindly explained to you, as there is no fault with the items then you are completely welcome to return them if they are not suitable, however this would be at your expense, as explained in our shipping and returns info page.
You stated the items are not as described, this is false. The swatches are not described as being blank sheets. There is both a description and also photos of the swatches showing the logos on multiple places on the website. In your email to us, you also acknowledged you had seen that the swatches were etched.
As Maria also explained, if you need small sized blank acrylic pieces for making products, we can supply those as a custom cut to size sheet, with the usual cutting fee, however we cannot cut custom sheets and supply them to you for just £1 a piece.
I hope that you will consider the serious harm that an unjust 1 star review does to a small business and remove it.

No, as shown in the photos the full sized sheets are plain, and the samples are etched. The listings for various material type show images of both full sized sheets and also of the small sample swatches. We believe this is clear, as in over a decade of trading no other customers have had this issue, but if anything on the website is confusing customers are welcome to ask questions before ordering and we will happily advise.
Yes, thank you for admitting in your revised review that it does clearly say the swatches have a hole and engraving.
Yes you are correct, we offer various shipping options at different prices, £10.95 is for courier delivery, £4 is Royal Mail 48. The jewellery findings you ordered in addition to the samples are not free shipping so you were free to choose whichever option you prefer based on the weight of the non-free shipping items in your order.
Your comments regarding no information on closing hours are unfortunately also untrue. There was a scrolling banner on every page of the website during the closing days and for several days before we closed stating the closing days and when shipping would resume. We reopened on the 5th, and this banner was taken down the following day on the 6th. There was also a large image on the front page stating this same information during the closed days. I’m sorry to hear that you missed that information when ordering.

Nice selection of solid hardwood veneers (boxmaker's wood)
I was looking for some good quality 3-4mm wood for a small project. There can be some good quality plywood with attractive faces in this size but there's also a lot of mediocre sheets that will have an unattractive edge when cut even with sanding. Sketch Laser Cutting have a good range of solid hardwoods in 100mm and 150mm solid sheets, intended for the cutting side of the business.
A shop is ideal for being able to check and select the wood based on grain, there's no shop but you can arrange to collect Mon-Fri - it's right next to Deptford Bridge DLR. I dropped by just before they closed and picked up 3 wood sheets. I had a chat with Maria and she showed me the stock and offered alternatives if I didn't like the grain. There's a slight curve on the 3mm birch sheet I picked up but not a problematic one. Their cherry isn't aged so will look light in colour.
Stock control could be better, I ordered 3x 3mm which were shown in stock on website but one wasn't. I switched to a 5mm instead.

Couldn't recommend this company enough. I ordered cutting in mirrored acrylic. It was my first time and Maria asnwered every question swiftly with patience. Nothing was a problem. The cuttings are just gorgeous. Thank you thank you

I love working with Sketch Lasercutting. All my samples from Sketch always arrive on time, and they never fail to answer any of my inquiries. They provide top-quality materials and laser cut services! I highly recommend them. Lovely people to work with!

Love Sketch!
Fantastic customer service, quick turnaround time (including different rush order options!) and really high quality laser cutting.
Maria is super friendly and so helpful, especially with my first order where she was so patient double-checking all my silly mistakes!

Brilliant Service
I have just placed m y second order with Sketch Laser Cutting as my experience with them has been excellent. Firstly they are so prompt in responding back, very fast in accommodating my order and delivering it. Also the quality of their cutting is superb in comparison to other laser cutters who can deliver scratched or damaged pieces.
I am so happy with them and Maria in particular as she is very friendly and accommodating.

The team at Sketch were so so great in helping me not only sort my order, but in consulting me with what I needed file & material wise. Laser cutting is new to me and Maria was amazing in helping guide me through the process.

Brilliant service
Brilliant service. I just received my second order of laser cut UV printed shapes, which I am thrilled with. Sketch are great to work with and are helpful and friendly, the final product is superb quality. I highly recommend them and will continue to order from Sketch in future :)

Fast feedback
Fast feedback, polite, helpful. This is easily the best service I’ve found anywhere. I was met with an attitude of ‘anything is possible’ rather than the typical decline of complicated designs, I can’t suggest this company enough.

Absolutely brilliant
Absolutely brilliant! I really wasn't sure how to send over the files or even put them together but they were so helpful, friendly and patient with me that I managed to get everything sorted and made. Everything arrived really quickly and it really does look amazing. I am so pleased with everything and will definitely be using them again!
