Rented a RAV4 Hybrid off these clowns…
Rented a RAV4 Hybrid off these clowns and within minutes of driving off, noticed swaying when turning. Checked the car at the servos and found one of the tires at 12psi.. pumped it up and next day, same thing. Called the customer relations and was promised a call back by a manager that never happened. On the last day, the of the hire, the car wouldn't start.. flat battery was found by the RACQ roadside service guy; he also mentioned nothing he could see would have drained the battery like that - must be something wrong with the car. I then got charged the call out fee of $150 + GST!! what bullocks.. Can't get a hold of anyone, nor anyone would call back and they still dared to charge me for the call out fee to get the faulty car going!! Absolutely not acceptable at all and i would assume many would just proceed to let them get away with these things.
STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE! ZERO COMMUNICATION WHEN THERE ARE ISSUES. POOR BUSINESS PRACTICES.
Have contacted AFIA and will proceed with ACCC before legal action if it gets to that.

Take very detailed photos prior to renting …
The rental process was fine yet upon picking up the car the staff told another customer that their car had acquired a scratch during their rental period. Both the customer and vendor had photos of the car prior to rental yet could not come to sn agreement. I took a video of the car before hiring just in case the same thing happened to me. Upon return of the vehicle sixt did the same to me, pointing out three tiny marks on the windscreen (damage to the outside). My video did not collect such detailed information of the windscreen as the photos would need to be of a very high quality. I paid for insurance to cover everything prior just in case. Please note: there was no damage to the windscreen during my rental period yet they made it difficult to leave unless I filed out their insurance claim. My guess is this is how their business works to get parts replaced when it is no fault of the renter. When you rent from them take very very detailed photos and a video of the car.

sixt has a branch in the suburb we are staying in, which also happened to be on the way north which is the direction we were headed on the day of pickup. we arrived early and it wasn’t a problem for the friendly staff. Vehicle was clean , tidy, late model and nice to drive.

SIXT is doing an excellent job of making the pick-up experience simple, efficient, and genuinely pleasant. From arrival to driving away, everything felt well organised and customer-focused, which is exactly what you want when hiring a car.
What stands out most is the staff. They were friendly, professional, and approachable, taking the time to explain the rental details clearly without overcomplicating things or rushing the process. Their communication was transparent and reassuring, which builds trust and removes the usual uncertainty that can come with car rentals.
The efficiency of the pick-up process is another major strength. The vehicle was ready on time, clean, and in excellent condition, matching what was booked. The handover was quick and logical, with no unnecessary delays, hidden surprises, or confusing steps. Everything felt streamlined and well thought out.
SIXT also does a great job of balancing speed with care. While the process was fast, it never felt impersonal. The team made sure I was comfortable, informed, and confident before leaving, which shows strong training and a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction.
Overall, SIXT is doing very well in customer service, organisation, and transparency. The experience was stress-free and professional, setting a high standard for car rental pick-ups and making it easy to recommend them to others.

SIXT BLACKTOWN - THE WORST CAR RENTAL BRANCH EVER!
THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL RENTAL COMPANY EVER!!!!!
In 9 years of using Sixt privately and professionally, never have I ever experienced such unprofessionalism as I have this time around from the branch in Blacktown.
The branch was closed early because of holidays, however nowhere was this to be read, neither on Google nor anywhere else.
We arrived around 1pm and had booked pickup from 12, and NEVER have I ever experienced with Sixt or any of their competitors that the team just goes home without trying to contact the client first!!!!
When we arrived, the gates were locked, and we were told from speaking with customer support that we should have known... HOW???
Customer support eventually agreed that we would get a full refund and compensation for the 100 AUD we paid for an Uber to go the the branch, however after 19 DAYS of reviewing our case, Sixt's team in Blacktown now doesn't even want to refund us for the car rental!!!! The Duty Manager is extremely unprofessional and we will be escalating in whatever way possible to make sure we get our money back, including a potential lawsuit for unfair consumer treatment and disputing with our bank. Saying we got offered to pick up the car the next day when we had rented the car to literally go stay in a hotel in Blue Mountains the same night... how is that in any way just compensation?
Avoid at all costs - it's better to walk than dealing with these unprofessional people!
