Out dated & ancient tech

I had an error with my scanner. It says to send them an email. I sent one on the 20th, there was no response until they called via telephone to mither why I hadnt sent this week.
Their drivers list the most recent OS as WIndows 7, a 15 yaer old OS that hasnt had any updates for 5 years.
They want you to run Internet Explorer, a browser that was discontinued in 2022.
Their software isnt signed, so looks very suspicous.
The scanner is 30 year old tech, requiring outdated software & drivers to function.

When their list of suggestions didn't fix my error, I emailed back, their response was to call them via telephone. Why they have an email support address when they just want you to call who knows.

Closed account then non stop hounding from them

Was with shop and scan for awhile, stopped doing it due to life in general getting in the way, my account was closed to to in activity then they sent me a envelope out to return the clicker , sent it to the wrong address after I told them the correct address. After they finally sent it to the right address I sent it off then emailed them straight after to say I sent it back and since then I’ve had constant emails and letters telling me to return the clicker even though I returned it weeks ago

Horrible experience with customer…

Horrible experience with customer service. Contacted a few times but got only standard replays eg. how to redeem points. I know how to redeem points but app won’t let me to do it. It looks like a technical issue. No solution how to do it was offered. Not happy.

Why only Windows?

Mostly we (my wife & I) are happy with the process for logging our shopping with Shop & Scan We share the task of scanning our shopping with the clicker, and I deal with scanning the receipts and submitting the barcodes from the scanner. *HOWEVER* my wife's PC (running Windows 10) seems to be getting slower and slower - we have a strong suspicion that this is a dark plot by Microsoft to force her into buying a new PC and Windows 11. My PC runs Linux, and I would be happy to install Linux on my wife's PC *BUT* this would cut us off from earning a useful supplementary income from the incentives to Shop & Scan. I would be interested to know how many other Shop & Scan users would like to turn away from Windows!

Been with them for years but as soon as…

Been with them for years but as soon as i upgraded my pc from windows 9 to 10 the desktop app no longer sent my codes now they close my account for 'inactivity' when i cant send them, why not update form the clicker to a smartphone app. KEEP AWAY!

App not working in Windows 11 and the website freezes in Internet Explorer mode

I have also been with Shop and Scan several years and like another customer here, I have not been able to use the app since upgrading my laptop to Windows 11. I have contacted the Helpdesk several times by email as the phone lines are no longer manned, none of the fixes provided worked properly; loading the webpage in internet explorer mode works sporadically, most of the time it just freezes when I click the transmit button; I get fed up with trying. The main reason I suspect is that the technology used is unforgiveably "ancient" as one reviewer has noted. They really need to invest in modernising this.

Don't even bother

Don't even bother. I was in hospital for 4 weeks and they cancelled my account and didn't give me enough time to take out my points (closed my account fully within a day). I have emailed and called various times but have not heard anything back. This has been over 2 months now. I have requested for all my data to be deleted, let's see what they will reply to that. I will update this post. There are many more much better and understanding companies doing the same, which I have been a panel member for years now. We might be household numbers to you BUT WE ARE ACTUALLY HUMANS WHO CAN GET SICK. Absolute shame.

Joined ship and scan over a month ago

Joined shop and scan over a month ago. Been on lots of shopping trips and entered them all. They were all accepted. Still no points. Points sitting at zero despite a months worth of various shopping trips entered. It’s a shame because it seemed like a promising site. The reviews however seem awful but I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt. I’ll keep entering my trips for a while and if I’m actually given any points I’ll come back and change my review but for now, this is my experience.

Only been using this for a few months…

Only been using this for a few months but really enjoyed doing it.
I was in hospital for 2 week so no scan and I let them know
They still cancelled my account.
I emailed again to let them know the circumstances and they would not reopen my account.
Very unfair company
Have 2700 points left but nothing availed for that amount

Closed my account for no reason

Terrible company. They closed my account as i was in hospital and could not scan any items. When i went into redeem the vouchers it would not let me log in. When you ring customer services they often hang up.

Awful experience got points but app…

Awful experience got points but app won’t let me claim rewards. Tried on my. iPhone abd computer at library still won’t work. Says my password is wrong but won’t let me reset it so can’t win. Spoke to company loads of times abd they still can’t solve it

Closed account for no reason

Completely rubbish I wouldn’t bother they might close your account down for no reason . They closed my account down for no reason I haven’t done anything wrong and I will continue making reviews until I get spoken to as they are ignoring my emails . Unacceptable to be honest Because this was helping me a lot since I have two kids things have been difficult lately and this really helped me

Reliable But With Truly Ancient Tech

We've been with Shop and Scan for decades, and it works very well. With one major caveat.Their scanners are very primitive (but generally do work). Their technology is over 30 years old - still dependent on Windows and its browsers. Needs external connection to USB in order to work, very limiting.
They would do well to update it with smartphone tech, and make it fully platform independent.

Have been using shop and scan for years now, never had a problem till now. Got a new Lenovo laptop, windows 11 downloaded the app the app won’t allow me to download my barcodes. I have called you, emailed you twice. Someone said they would call me back. No one has.
