I’ve just picked up a new car for my son, we noticed that small dent on the rear of the car. At the time of pick up was assured the dent could be taken out quite easily, also no service record was available despite being told at the time of sale a full service history was available. After 2 visits back we’re still waiting on the service record and that they were unable to make the dent good(must be some sort of special dent)!
I’ve had cars from Ron Skinners over the years but they seem to have developed a “whatever attitude”.
Very poor and disappointing from what was a local company.

I bought a car Sept 2021 from this company and have to date taken it back 4 times for engine repairs in various forms, the first occasion being 2 months after driving off the fore court! On that first occasion, once the work was completed I was told they would test it before i was able to collect the next day, sounds good right- wrong as the next day I was told the same thing but they let slip the mechanic had been taking it home in the evenings to "test" it! The second time was for failed CB joints within 5 months of the first incident. this was done under warrantee then three months later I was called and told it would need to come back in to have the same thing done again as it had not been completed the first time round. This most recent time I called at the beginning of march to report another engine failure after my dash lit up again but there was no answer. I did not get a call back and had to chase them to book it in. when I went to collect my car following a call from them I was there for 30mins while they tried to find my keys as they had lost them they were found on the workshop floor. On each occasion I have asked for a report of work done but none was give. In addition, when I took it in for a service in 2022 as I was sold a service plan when I purchased the car they did not bother stamping the book. Avoid and believe me I will be taking this further.

Visited store but was constantly asking for out business before we even saw a car but in a friendly way

Had poor repairs to the bodywork rear demister never worked thay told my finance company thay replaced it but thay tried to repair it to no avail took the car back thay said that the damage was caused by me there were multiple brakes in the rear demister even there own machanic said so 😂😂 lucky I voice recorded the hole conservation the crap that thay came out with iv got pictures and voice conversation of proof of there lies ready for the small claims court and for the omnibusman 😛😛

I taken out a car with these and never again would I they hound you like hell turn up at your house and more to the point let you drive away with no insurance but sell it you are covered by them with no trader insurance ie red registration plate

I have bought a couple of cars from Ron Skinners over the years and have been pleased with the deals and selling process, but this review is in relation to the service department.

I bought a package of services when I bought my last car and I am extremely impressed by the customer service. I booked the car in and they rang and told me there was no need to have the service yet and to save it for later. They could so easily have done the job, which would have been cheap and easy for them but instead they put the customer first. Very pleased and impressed, will definitely be telling everyone how good they were.😊

I bought a car recently and found what I was looking for in Ron Skinner in Neyland. I found staff there welcoming, very friendly and helpful, at no time did I feel pressured in making a purchase or buy warranties, service/MOT packages. I am very pleased with the car and can recommend this car dealer.

We recently purchased our car from the Tredegar branch. The salesman (Keith) was very helpful when we narrowed it down to two cars. Allowed us a test drive before making our final decision. At no time at all did we feel pressured into Purchasing a car. We had a great deal on our purchase and will definitely be buying again when we next want a car.

2015 Renault Captur Signature Nav. Cars are priced higher than most dealers and the car I bought was was no exception. It was a little overpriced.
I had limited finance options and the selection of cars wasn't that great for my budget so that didn't help.
Told by the salesman that the car was in "mint" condition after reserving it online.
Went to see it in a garage with poor light so didn't notice all the scuffs on the interior until I drove it home.
I was also told by the salesman that the car had one previous owner. When my log book arrived I found out it had two previous owners. So misled there as well.
Overall a disappointing experience considering how popular the dealer is you would expect more from them.

Go elsewhere as the only advice I can offer to anyone thinking about going to this company for any car and whatever you do, NEVER pay them a deposit because it's not refundable subject to viewing the car you reserve as their website states, that seems to be a case of false advertising (If anyone has been refunded, then if I were you I'd use that money on lottery tickets, because you clearly have more luck than the rest of us) when you show an interest in any of their cars they will inundate you with calls and messages and keep on about taking a deposit from you, but try getting that deposit back when you decide not to buy any car because that money is on a one way street as soon as you give them your card details, they will even ghost you for trying to get it back.
1 star is the lowest option on here and they don't even deserve that.
For every 10 potential buyers who pay a deposit to reserve their choice of car and decide against buying it, this company makes a grand without selling a single car, I am convinced they only advertise the word refund as a ploy to lull people into paying the deposit that they have no intention of refunding, I can't even say you'll only get that refund back when they take it off the price of the cars they're selling because they're overpriced by hundreds of pounds.
The only thing this company are concerned about are themselves, they're not out to save you money, so if you want to save yourself the time, the effort, the hassle, the waste of fuel driving to their locations and your money then go elsewhere like I did, I ended up with the same age car, much better condition much lower mileage and I received over £300 more for my old car than this company's highest offer.
Personally I wouldn't go to these again even as a last resort, pretty ironic that the finance company is called "SMILE" they're the only ones smiling.

I wasn't going to write a review but want others to be aware. Bought a black 2017 Suzuki Vitara in march from another company for £12400 and I just didn't like it, sold it to Ron skinner who now have it for sale for £12k, it's valued online at £7k. Bought a car from them and 8 days later it had a mechanical fault, but they did give me a full refund on that which I was grateful for

Purchased a car from them in 2019. Vauxhall Insignia 2015 plate. Very happy with the car, there was however damage done to the wingmirror AFTER signing, which, when noticed was fixed prior to collection.

Prices are generally decent, a little high, but I felt like I got a good deal with a decent company, rather than forced to buy a car that I did not want, unlike some other firms.

There was little to no pushy sales process and they have a very stand offish policy. Which is good.

Bought a skoda Octavia from Ron Skinners in Neyland in January with a warranty. Driving down the M4 one day in March and all the infotainment blacked out stopped working, no radio, Bluetooth or touch screen. Also had red warnings flash up on the dash at random then disappear. I'm a driver for a living and weekends are sacred being the only time I'm home this is getting silly now. I've been in twice to get it repaired still no joy and they only have one mechanic in their workshop I'm told. Whenever they've said they'd call me back they haven't I've been chasing them. Called them yesterday 5 times and kept getting put through to voicemail. They were keen to take the money in the first place but aftercare is really poor I wish I'd kept my old car and never bothered using Ron skinner as they just aren't professional.

Ron Skinner & Sons where absolutely amazing for my car! The finance company took there time but that was anything to do with Ron Skinner! They sorted the whole thing out for me with no fuss and I drove away within 24 hours with my new car! When I get another new one I will be going to Ron Skinner again! Thank you to my salesman and business manager for all the help and getting me back on the road! Jo 😍😍😍🚗🚗♥️

Don't even deserve one star, posted a comment about an Audi that my other half bought and was taken down! Just goes to show they only keep the good reviews up! Please dont buy your car from here worse dealership around!!!

Ever since I passed my test my dream car has been a mint green Fiat 500. I finally have one and I could not be happier! The staff at the Tredegar Branch made the whole process so easy and stress free and It all happened so quick. They sorted out absolutely everything and answered all the questions and concerns I had. The staff are really friendly and really approachable and Jay has been absolutely amazing. The only down fall was when I collected my car there wasn’t much fuel and the light was on the dashboard.

Happily took my money to reserve a car but are now doing everything possible to avoid giving it back! With the current used car market booming we saw the exact car we were looking for and reserved it straight away to avoid disappointment. Took 3 weeks for the car to come in but by that time I’d found another and was desperate. Requested my refund which I was told was 100% refundable. They clearly do not know the definition of refund. I strongly advise you not to reserve a car with them!!

Only 3 stars as although the car was an excellent buy , there was no fuel in it which they didn't mention until I bought it . They could of put half a tank in there and some car mats . Not their policy the lady informed me, lucky there was a petrol station just down the road .

Crosshands very professional nothing was to much trouble would 100% buy a car from them in the future 😁
