It could not have gone any worse.
It could not have gone any worse.
I arranged to meet Javier at 0900 one Monday morning to discuss what was needed on my Landcruiser. I waited 45 minutes without being seen, and left. He texted me 3 days later, apologizing, so I gave him another chance (a big mistake!).
When I went back, he eventually gave me a quote - €1.363 for a towing hook, to connect some lights I’d already put on the roof (just to connect them, and put buttons in the cabin), and to install some parking sensors. He told me he could do the work the following week, but I needed to pay him 50%. I paid 50% on 19th of APRIL. Despite asking several times, he only took the car on the 29th of MAY (“next week” actually meant 6 weeks…)
While waiting for him to take the car, someone drove into my car while it was parked, and did some minor damage to the front bumper. I asked him to fix it and I gave him the budget my insurance company gave me, and he said “ok”.
Now, he finally had my car! He said “1 or 2 days” and the car would be ready. I texted and called on day 2, with no response. In the end it was 3 days without my car.
I arrived, and to get my car back I had to pay €1.537 (13% more expensive than he said it would be). I paid, what choice did I have?
First thing I noticed was that the bumper had been put back into shape but not painted. “javier, why is it not painted? I told you it was my insurance company paying to put it back to normal” his answer “Oh, I didn’t know you wanted it painted as well! I’ll need to order the paint!”. So now, he wanted me to come back for a third time, and probably leave my car with him for some more days (‘But not next week or the week after as I’m away on holiday” he said)
Then I arrive home, and discover that the parking sensors don’t actually work, because they are positioned incorrectly – it is so obvious that they are positioned incorrectly, and the workmanship is poor. Assuming that they would be working, I reversed into a post, and damaged my car. After testing them myself, it is clear they are completely and utterly useless.
The sound of the parking sensors is also unbearable – high pitched, and very cheap sounding. I would be surprised if this wasn’t the cheapest option on the market
As for the buttons for the lights? Well, you would think that the buttons would be the same style as the other buttons in the cabin, and that they would have backlighting so you can see the buttons when its dark (like all other car buttons) – but no, of course not!
Javier suggested I come back some time (but “not in the next few weeks”) and he would have a look at the sensors, and get the paint for the bumper. I told him I had no interest in wasting any more time. I suggested he settle the problem by giving me a partial refund of €400 – I thought that was actually letting him off easy, but I just wanted to put it behind me. He didn’t respond. After some chasing he got back to me a few days later, and he said “no”, so here we are. I have a front bumper that wasn’t fixed, light switches that aren’t fit for purpose, parking sensors that just don’t work, extra dents because I thought they would work, and for all that I had to pay more than the original price given - €1.537. What an embarrassment. Javier, you should be ashamed of the quality of service you have given, and I hope others don’t suffer the same fate.
