Renault Staples Corner Rates Minus Nil Stars
M Sicard, CEO Renault UK
Apart from their benchmark excellent Richard Green, the rest of the staff come across as Z‐listers whether in Used or New Car Sales departements, particularly the latter's so‐called 'Manager' whose alleged 'talents'would in my view be better employed stacking shelves in a supermarket. One example, as follows, serves to illustrate a whole raft of shortcomings under his command: a few days ago my bank account was credited with £500.00 from this dealership but it took him >THE MAJOR PART OF THIS YEAR< to finally fall awake and get round to refunding a deposit paid on a subsequently cancelled order stretching way back to the early part of 2022... As a direct result, that mega unimpressive individual has not lost his bosses one piece of business from me but two in the form of a further potential purchase [jointly amounting to roughly £45,000.00] because I've just ordered a brand new Clio E-tech though not at the sinkhole that epitomises Renault Staples Corner but elsewhere, with professionals.
In my indelibly memorable experience, excellence is a quality largely absent at this particular dealership. They thereby disgrace not only themselves but ●heavily soil Renault's reputation too●, inescapably contaminated by association.
'Steer' clear of them.
A Falling Star Crashlands And Heavily
About a week ago on this forum I wrote a glowing review about my experience with the Used Car Sales Dept of Renault London West. With the same degree of sincerity and candour (pause, are you absorbing all this Mr Bennet‐Fisher, Prinicpal?) I'm now compelled to report a double deep plunge in my perception of the outfit. In Business, perception is everything.
(1) It took their slothful Accounts Dept three days short of three weeks - t h r e e weeks - to release to the px finance company the considerable sum of money involved, causing me a shedload of avoidable time-consuming hassle, annoyance and inconvenience in the elongated process. The dealer's flimsy'defence', which I don't buy for as much as a moment, is that the festive holiday scenario intervened to delay matters. Fiddlesticks - and that's the polite version of my angered expression. In my adamant view the process should have been initiated at the very latest by the second working day of the new year; in the event it took until yesterday the 18th January 2022 for the offending department to fall awake. Xfxguufhtt!
(2) To spread the stain on Renault London West's soiled image, a separate individual comes into the picture to add their own contribution to my displeasure. The staffer in question kindly and voluntarily gave up their day off to deliver the car to my home address.
Despite no claim that there were mitigating road traffic circumstances causing delay, they fetched up at my place just under two and a half hours later than the firmly agreed time. This not only occasioned ginormous bother and worry for myself but also, more importantly, a third party who was relying on me to drive them to a shared appointment. Grrrrrrrrrrrr! I was put in not simply a difficult but an impossible position because I could hardly complain to the culprit given the described nature of the handover. However, seeing I've been subject to additional aggravation, as outlined in my first paragraph, I most definitely do now.
In summary, altogether an indelibly memorable 'experience' - but for the wrong reasons... it leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.
[Dealer, note: no response is remoteiy required, nor would it be welcome. I'm not interested, apart from which I've already been 'offered' one regarding my main gripe. I'll let the second one lodge in the memory.]
Zoe zero safety, zero customer service
. I had decided that I wanted to purchase an ev. I trialled a Nissan leaf and the Renault Zoe amongst others. The priority for me was safety and efficiency. Renault Swansea advised that Renault put safety first with the Zoe having a five star NCAP safety rating. On this basis, along with a projected delivery date of end of NovemberDecember, I ordered a Zoe GT line on 12th October and paid a 500.00 deposit. After paying the deposit, I was then presented with a vehicle order form and asked to sign. The salesman, Chris Marland pointed out all the figures on the form to ensure I was happy they were correct and advised the delivery date had been input as 13th January but should be sooner and he would contact me once he had a firm delivery date. I have not received a firm delivery date, only verbal updates suggesting February or March. On the 8th December, NCAP reduced the Zoe safety rating to zero. I contacted Renault Swansea on 9th 9th December to express my concerns explaining that I was worried for the safety of my grandson and for myself driving the car given that a material change in the car I was promised to the car that would be delivered. The salesman was not aware of the review but understood my concerns. He advised me to email him confirming cancellation. I asked about the refund of my deposit and was told that would be dealt with by his manager and he would forward the email on. I received a call back later from the salesman telling me that Renault Swansea could not refund my deposit and that I had to contact Renault UK directly. He gave me a contact number to call. This I did, speaking to Tim who took details, advising they would liaise with Swansea and get it sorted out. On 10th December I received a call from Wasim Choudary from Renault UK who was sympathetic and promised to contact Swansea to try and resolve the matter. On 13th December I contacted Renault Swansea again to find out what was happening with regards to my deposit but was told by the salesman that as Renault UK was involved, he could help no further. I asked to speak to the sales manager and was promised a call back. On 14th December I received a call back from the sales manager Darren Bowen, who then went into an attack on the NCAP report, stating it was inaccurate with regards to my vehicle, that no airbags or any other safety features had been changed or removed. If this is true, which I dispute, then why had I been left to stress and worry for a week I explained that I no longer had confidence in the Zoe in its current form and asked for a refund of my deposit. He advised I would need to confirm cancellation by email before he would accept cancellation. I informed this had been done on 8th December. He then replied that he would check and email me an invoice for any costs already incurred, any monies due to me refunded or any monies due to Renault Swansea invoiced. He said that their terms and conditions state that deposits are non refundable and I should have read them before signing the form. As previously stated, the form was held in front of me, I was asked to sign, with no mention of the deposit being non refundable. A reputable organisation would not brush over any clause as important as this, it should be discussed with the customer in the interest of honesty, integrity and clarity. I initially advised the salesman that I would be happy to return to Renault Swansea in the future once the safety rating had been addressed as to that point they had provided excellent service. However, their reaction to my cancellation and the way in which they dealt with the whole situation has soured my experience of Renault. The final response from the sales manager was to invoice a sum of 1079.16 plus vat, but as gesture of goodwill discounted the figure to 500.00 inclusive of vat, the same amount as my deposit, citing administration, remarketing of vehicle and delivery costs. Bearing in mind the vehicle is not yet built, no delivery date given, I find it staggering that they arrive at these sums. Their operation costs cannot come anywhere near these figures. I have spoken to Renault UK and RCI Renault finance and have been advised I should have my deposit refunded, that they would ask someone to look at the case to help get the refund paid but nothing has materialised. Be very wary of purchasing from Renault retail group, particularly SWANSEA.
UPDATE ON DEPOSIT 25th January
I am happy to say that I have now received a full refund of my deposit following intervention by the Renault Retail area manager for which I am grateful.
The worst van we have ever owned for…
The worst van we have ever owned for work. As an engineering company we cant afford for our van to be in the service department for weeks on end continually. Top of range van but no air con working, digital sat nav, radio, music usb never worked, now outside 3 years warranty they are keen to charge us thousands of pounds to fix what they have failed to do for 3 years! 1st and last Renault van. We had an independent report done and it still has the factory fitted air/pollen filter, oil filter, brakes! so all the services we had done and paid for replacement service parts, they didnt change them. Truly shocked will never buy Renault again.
Tromperie !!!
Renault Retail Wolverhampton.
This afternoon I picked up my new car from Renault Retail Wolverhampton. My Capture was immaculate considering I hadn't seen it due to Covid.
James was very attentive and couldn't be more helpful.
Thank you,
Looking forward now for my Holiday in Scotland in a nice car!

Beurk!!!
PRE DAMAGED CAR- DENIED LIABILITY-BUT THEY KNEW
I bought a car for my son back in June 2016, from Renault West London, which is part of the Renault Retail Group, and the Salesman Chris Beasley assured me that the car was one of their own and a demo vehicle, hence the car had 1340 miles and was 9 months old. The car looked good, and everything was fine until the car was around 28 months old, we found rust on the full rear arch, and this was starting to blister the paint. Our local dealership took the car in and reported that it was a pre-damaged panel, and subsequently Renault UK have refused to carry out the work under warranty, as West London said the car had not been damaged by them, and it was a repair that we have had done.We then were informed by Renault UK that the car would not be covered under any warranty.
We have been perusing this via The Motor Ombudsman, and after almost a year, we have now been given a file from West London via the ombudsman, and the car had been in a major accident and £3200 worth of damage caused to the car, although they still deny the damage.
Before we had the evidence, Renault West London categorically denied it, they said that we had damaged the car, and actually put out a statement to Renault UK, that we were to blame.
I am still perusing this case, and also informed Renault UK about the evidence, but to date i still have a car less than 4 years old with rusting arch, and deteriorating at an alarming rate, and waiting for a decision on the case. Renault UK and Renault Retail group need to talk more, and basically come clean and about problems.
It seems the only way forward is to inform other potential buyers, that spending around £10,000 with Renault Retail group could be a waste of money, and you could end up with a car that previously damaged and not worth the price you have paid for it.
AVOID RENAULT WEST LONDON
AVOID THE RENAULT RETAIL GROUP
THEY WONT HELP YOU, AND DENY ALL LIABILITY, AND CERTAINLY WONT COMMUNICATE WITH YOU OR HELP....SOLICITORS NOW ONGOING
Terrible after-sales service
Bought a used car from Renault London West; pre-sales and sales service all good. However, the car was handed over without the boot shelf and front mats, and the USB isn't working. Despite initial promises to sort this out nothing has happened, even the request to purchase an extended warranty hasn't been followed up! Such small things to get right and now I will never go to Renault again.
