I ordered March1,
charged March 3, delivered March 25-27 while I was out of town. I first contacted customer service on April 4 and complied with multiple requests for photos while eating away at the 30 day return period. I contacted CS within a reasonable timeframe after delivery with no resolution. The rep either didn’t escalate my complaint to management as I requested twice or this company just doesn’t give a shit about consumers spending money with their company.
I now have a useless hunk of plastic.
Do Not buy direct, sadly it’s a better return policy through a third party,such as REI or Amazon. I was sent a goodwill code for a discount , I expect what I paid for, an exchange or a refund, not a discount.
The company should be embarrassed by their lack of commitment to their product

I am trying to invest in better shoes and this is an example why I kept buying cheap because at least if the shoe doesnt perform I didn't spend $85! So disappointing!

I purchased a pair of Reef Ojai Gigis. I first bought a pair in the Starfish color. They are great.
I saw a pair of the Frosty color at a store and just had to have them. I tried them on. The fit is the same as the Starfish pair I already have. I didn’t spend time walking around in them as they are the same shoe. I didn’t spend time walking around in them, as I did not expect any issues. However, now that I have purchased them and have had a chance to walk around in them, I notice a loud “clicking” noise when I walk. It doesn’t make sense. It’s the same shoe. My foot shape, arch height, and the material is all the same.
Unfortunately, I bought the shoes on in clearance, final sale. The store won’t exchange them. I’m guessing they were aware of the issue, and this is why they were on clearance, final sale. I am so disappointed.
I reached out to Reef, as they are known to stand by their product. I was hoping to see if there is any way they can help, as there is clearly a manufacturers defect with this pair. I just want the same shoes, without the clicking. Thinking maybe I could send them in for an exchange.
I included pics of my good pair of the Starfish and the defective Frosty. I don’t see any visual defects. It’s just the odd noise with the Frosty pair.
I received a reply stating:
“Factors like foot shape, arch height, material type, and surface impact can contribute to noise during walking”.
I explained that all of these factors are exactly the same.
Ultimately they will not exchange the shoes. I am stuck with a pair of shoes that make a very annoying clicking sound.
I will not be purchasing Reefs moving forward.
I ordered a pair of reef sneakers…
I ordered a pair of reef sneakers through Amazon. They ripped after wearing for three or four hours. Reef sent me a second pair, which did the same thing within a few hours. They now will not give me any money back and they want to provide me with a credit through reef. Why would I want to buy anything from the site when I’ve seen how defective their products can be. Now they’re saying that they won’t support my purchase through Amazon. I refused to buy from this company again and I hope you won’t either.

Joke of a Company Now
I want to start off by saying, I am a loyal customer to Reef. I have bought sandals and attire from them for over 20 years. Never once have I returned or complained about an item. A week ago I placed an order for two new pairs of sandals and a tank top. When I received my order I noticed that the tank top I received was not the one I ordered. I immediately reached out to customer service with a screenshot of my order number, what I ordered, and a current time stamped photo of the item that I received instead. I assumed, like any good customer service and business, they would tell me to keep the wrong shirt and that they would resend me the correct one. I was so wrong. Instead, they told me they would NOT send me the correct item that I ordered until I went out of my way to the local UPS store, which is over 15 minutes away, bought a new shipping parcel to put the wrong item that THEY sent me, and then send it back to them. For my troubles, they offered me a 20% off coupon. What a joke. A coupon? I’ll never be shopping there again after all this. I am a very reasonable person. If this was an item I ordered and simply did not like or whatever, I agree it is my responsibility to return the item before receiving any kind of exchange our money back. However, this was not my fault. They sent ME the wrong item. They even acknowledged that fact.
Get this, when I go to their website to leave feedback on each item because I want to let other consumers know that this company is a literal joke there is no way for me to leave a review. Why is that? It is so shady and so trashy. They will never receive another dollar for me ever again. You’re better off going with FloJos, Sanuk, Rainbow, or even Birkenstocks. I hope this reaches the right crowd and that this company receives the dip in sales they deserve!

One day on the beach in Cancun and these Reef sandals were destroyed by playing in the sand with my kids. ONE DAY !!!
Customer service refused to help
If a beach sandal can’t survive a single day at the beach, that says everything about the quality.

I miss the quality Reef sandals had for decades
I've been wearing Reef sandals since the 90s and I always have at least one pair of the Sandy style at all times. The quality has seriously gone down hill. One pair would last me years (maybe that's the point of downgrading the quality?)
There was a time I'd put on a new pair and the arch support and comfort would make me realize how worn out my old pair had gotten. Not anymore. New pairs are hard as a rock with almost no arch support. And the sizing has completely changed. I have always worn a size 8. I just held up my new size 8 to my old one and it's at least a half size shorter. Luckily I wear a 7.5 so these will at least fit.
These will be my last pair of Reef. These are in no way worth $45. I'll be trying out Teva or another brand that makes similar sandals. I'm very disappointed I have to do this, I have loved these sandals since I discovered them as a teen in the 90s. I've seen other people complain about this same issue for awhile now, but was hoping they were exaggerating. They are not, and it shows how the company feels about it's loyal buyers that they haven't addressed these issues.
Do better Reef. Maybe I'm returning my new pair, maybe I'll try again in a few years.
Address correction requested immediately, but no assistance provided
I want to share this experience fairly and accurately. The shipping address on my order was automatically populated from the Shop App, which still contained my previous address due to a recent move. I noticed this immediately after placing the order and contacted customer support immediately (same day) to request a correction—well before the order shipped. Unfortunately, I did not receive a response to my email, and when I reached out via live chat (same day), I was told that the address could not be changed. I understand that address changes can be sensitive once orders are in process. However, given how quickly I reached out, the lack of responsiveness and unwillingness to offer any solution (such as an address update, order cancellation, or reshipment option) was disappointing. I’m sharing this feedback in hopes it helps improve responsiveness and flexibility for customers who notify the company immediately when an issue is identified.
Best Sandals ever
First and foremost, I love these sandals. I currently own 3 pairs and plan on ordering another. I've also recommended to multiple friends because I'm not a gatekeeper. They are ridiculously comfortable, waterproof and tough enough for everything I've put them through. I've worn to the beach, long walks and even some challenging hikes because I like to test fate. I've worn casually and dressed up because I like to be a trend setter. These sandals do not disappoint and when the salsa limited editions restock, those will be dancing their way into my cart. Trust this stranger!
Rude customer service
Tried to return a clothing item - still had all tags attached and had never been worn- but I was one day past the return deadline. ( I had ordered 5 pairs of shoes and a dress mind you ) I explained that I had been really sick with the flu and could not get out of bed for 5 days and they refused. I actually just wanted to exchange for a smaller size. The customer service is beyond rude. I will NEVER EVER buy anything from reef again.
Bad Customer Support
I used to buy from them but recently there was an error with an order I placed. I tried to reach out within 15 minutes of placing the order. Customer service number was just a recording and told you to leave a message. I tried the email route and did get a reply hours later telling me there was nothing they could do. No one ever called me back from the message I left. I tried reaching out to the shipping company but didn't have any luck there. So there's a pair of shoes I'll never get. Buy from a company that has actual Customer service.

I’ve been a loyal Reef customer for years and have owned more pairs of their flip-flops than I can count. Unfortunately, the pair I bought just a week ago caused a painful cut on my foot where the material rubbed abnormally. Clearly a defective pair.
When I contacted Reef, they refused to replace them and instead offered me $10 off another pair—for sandals that are only a week old. That’s not customer service; that’s brushing off loyal customers.
Reef used to stand for quality and reliability, but this experience shows how far the company’s standards have slipped. I’ll be throwing these $60 flip-flops away and switching brands. A company that won’t stand behind its products doesn’t deserve long-term customers.

Life expectancy 2 months
Bought a pair of sandals and two months later they are not holding up well. I emailed regarding the leather falling off the front strap and was told it's normal wear and tear. After 2 months. Co sidering the price they should be made better. I was offered a 20% off coupon to spend more money on shoes that don't hold up longer than 2 months. No thanks!
