Incompetent Tyre Fitters
I chose to fit premium tyres to my cars as I trust them to reward me and my family with increased safety, performance and longevity. In the UK, ProTyre garages are frequently Pirelli preferred 'performance centres'.
ProTyre Syston is my usual tyre fitter though on this occasion I wished to have my MOT (and wheel alignment) too, something that garage doesn't offer.
I ordered 4x new Pirelli tyres for my vehicle. Once the tyres were fitted, it was presented for an MOT in which the wheel came lose during the test.
The garage recommended that I needed intensive repair work to the wheel hub to allow secure fitting of the wheel to my vehicle.
Note that my car arrived to the garage, and had been driving, in a safe condition prior to the tyre fitters working on the vehicle.
I argued this, and had to 'strong arm' against the garages recommendation of repair and take my keys back. In the car park, using the cars own jack and tyre iron - I was able to correctly reattach the wheel and tighten accordingly and drive home safely.
All it needed was a bit of patience to do properly.
I returned to the garage to have my MOT retest and wheel alignment. The former was obliged but despite booking in a week in advance, I had to return *again* for the wheel alignment as the garage had become overwhelmed on that day.
The wheel alignment was 'completed' although the technician identified I that there was damage to my vehicle. My once straight steering angle is now worse off following a wheel alignment, and I suspect I will have to book elsewhere to have this rectified.
I ought to add that the managing staff were open and honest, I could tell that they were trying their hardest given the cards they were dealt which I understand in a flexible business such as a garage can be particularly inclement at times.
There is one particular tyre fitter/technician which made a mediocre experience worse.
I am of mind to write to Pirelli UK as this is not the experience I ought to receive from an accredited Pirelli performance centre.

I went somewhere for an MOT and they cancelled as i got there and my mot was die the next day so i went round the corner to protyre and they booked me in for the next day and were able to do it for me

I cannot thank everyone enough at…
I cannot thank everyone enough at ProTyre’s (Leicester) I went needing a tyre replacement, and they were very friendly and had the tyre in stock, and a good range of new tyres. They replaced my tyre in good time and the price was very reasonable. I could not have been any happier with their service.
