Unhappy customer
I was very disappointed with the quality of this rose. It only had one decent shoot and when I removed it from its container all the stuff (root ball} just fell away leaving the bare roots. I did correctly dig a large hole and carefully planted it. It has substantially wilted and doesn’t look very healthy.

Sorry to hear you’ve been disappointed with the condition of your rose that’s not what we want for our customers.
All of our roses are covered by a one-year guarantee. As they are living plants, some variation can happen, but the issues you’ve described don’t sound as expected for a healthy plant on arrival.
We’d like to take a closer look at this for you. If you’re able to, please send a few photos of the rose (including the roots if you have them) along with your order details to support@peterbealesroses.com. Our team can then assess things properly and arrange the right resolution, whether that’s care advice or a replacement if needed.

The order took six weeks to arrive
The order took six weeks to arrive, although the website stated that it would be dispatched in 5-7 days. I tried calling 5 times, and on two occasions there was no answer. I spoke to an agent on three occasions, and each time I was given a different reason for the delay. Finally about 30% of my order was sent to me, as the other items were out of stock. I will say that I was dutifully refunded for the roses that I did not receive. Overall a very frustrating and disappointing experience with this company.

A six-week wait alongside unclear communication isn’t the experience we aim to provide. Stock availability can sometimes change quickly, but you should have been kept properly informed throughout, and the mixed messages you received from the team clearly didn’t help.
While I’m glad the refund for the unavailable items was processed, the overall experience you’ve described isn’t acceptable and we’re taking this on board internally, particularly around communication and stock accuracy.

Roses fine but DPD were hopeless
Roses fine but DPD were hopeless. On second delivery attempt they left them by the front door where they could have left them in the first place. I think they tried to mis-deliver them or not at all.

I ordered a potted rose from your… Customer services ignored my request to increase my order and still not bothered to contact me.
I ordered a potted rose from your company(on a Sunday). I almost immediately emailed to increase the order to two roses and and to invoice me with the balance owed. This was completely ignored and one was dispatched. No contact regarding my email.

Your order was placed on Sunday 22nd March at 2:57pm, and our customer service team operates Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. We work through emails in the order they are received when the team returns, however your order had already been picked, packed, and dispatched at 9:54am on Monday 23rd March before the team had the opportunity to see your message requesting the change.
With potted roses we aim to dispatch quickly, often within 3–5 days, but during quieter periods orders can sometimes leave within a few hours of the working day beginning.
We completely understand why you were hoping to amend the order and are sorry we weren’t able to catch it in time before dispatch. If you would still like to place an additional order or need any assistance, please do contact our customer service team and we’ll be happy to help.

Could do better
On a positive note my order arrived quickly and in a sturdy box.
However my rose is lopsided with one shoot having lost its only leaves due to the string tie catching them. The other 3 are growing very close together.
Customer service have not responded to my email request for a replacement.
This rose is not to the standard would expect and certainly not worth the premium price paid. I wouldn't have picked this plant at a garden centre.

We’re pleased the plant arrived quickly and safely packaged. Having reviewed our records, we can see your email was received on 20th March and the enquiry was passed to one of our rosarians, who responded and closed the case on 24th March.
From the photo, the rose appears healthy and already producing strong new growth, which is a good sign that it will establish well once planted. Roses can sometimes look a little uneven early in the season as new shoots begin to develop, but they typically balance out as the plant grows through spring.
That said, we completely understand wanting the plant to meet expectations, especially when purchasing a premium rose. If you still have concerns, please do reply to the original email and our team will be very happy to take another look and assist further.
