The two roses were a great price and…
The two roses were a great price and delivery was just as prompt as promised. I was disappointed though when I opened the box to find that a lot of the compost/mulch had fallen out of the two pots and a bottle of rose tonic that was part of my order was lying on top of both roses and had damaged them, with branches and growing tips snapped off both plants. So I deduce they were not couriered standing up as the box instructs! I emailed the company who apologised and just said plant them out and prune them lightly and if they don't survive there is a year's guarantee. So we shall see and hope they survive.

We’re very sorry to hear about the condition your roses arrived in. It does sound like the parcel may not have been handled upright during transit, and we completely understand how disappointing it is to find damage like this on arrival.
The advice given to plant and lightly prune is the right approach, as roses are resilient and often recover well from this type of setback. That said, we absolutely stand by the quality of our plants, and as mentioned, all of our roses are covered by a 1-year guarantee.
Please do keep an eye on them as they establish, and if you have any concerns at all or they don’t thrive as expected, don’t hesitate to get back in touch
High quality roses
I’ve bought a number of roses from Peter Beales this year including Macmillan Nurse standards, Ballerina, For your eyes only and carpet rose coral. All arrived in great condition and are doing well in the garden.

The rose is very healthy and growing already.

The two roses purchased
The two roses purchased were for an anniversary gift for our daughter and son in law. The gift was delivered promptly arriving on the exact day of their anniversary!
Lynn quickly planted them in their garden and was highly delighted on their quality etc. We will send her more roses on her birthday in a weeks time.

I have bought roses from Peter Beales for forty years and still intend to. They have all thrived and give us enormous pleasure. Visiting the centre at Attleborough is a great experience, plenty of help and advice, lots of shopping and a super café. (My latest purchase is a rose box)

Shaken Upside Down During Delivery
Rose box was upright on delivery but on unpacking nearly all of the topping bark had emptied out into the box so looks as if the box had spent time upside down and possibly shaken to dislodge the bark!

While the box may have been handled correctly at the point of delivery, it does sound like it may have been turned during transit, which can sometimes cause the decorative bark topping to shift. This won’t affect the health of the rose itself, but we completely understand it’s not ideal to open.
