Return fees are disappointing - landfill instead
After reading the description of a product multiple times over, as part of wide research into floor paints, I assumed that the product I was looking at was solvent based.
Upon receipt of the item, it has a label describing it as water based which isn't as durable as what I was looking for. The product photos did not show the side of the can with this label.
Going back to their website, it definitely doesn't say water based in the description whereas the polyurethane alternative they sell does specify this in its description. One of the category tags does say water based, but I didn't spot this at the time as I was too busy reading the multi paragraph descriptions.
Their returns policy deducts 10% as a handling fee and a further £10 for original postage.
In return for sending back my £16.95 of paint, I believe I would receive £5.25.
Minus return courier fee, I believe.
Instead I will likely send it straight to landfill.
Two stars because it arrived quickly.

The product is described as a Quick Dry Alkyd Floor Sealer, states that it is low VOC, and also specifies that it is thinned with water, which identifies it as a water-based alkyd formulation rather than a traditional solvent-based product.
We appreciate that product specifications can sometimes be overlooked when comparing different products, but we are sorry that this wasn't clearer when comparing products.
Regarding returns, we completely understand that returning an item can be frustrating. Unfortunately, due to the nature of paint products, even smaller parcels typically have courier costs starting from around £10 + VAT, as liquid products are considerably more expensive to transport than most non-liquid items.
If you're ever unsure about a product specification, please don't hesitate to contact us by phone or email before ordering.

Patricia at the Reddish branch of Paintmaster was fantastic from start to finish. She was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to understand exactly what I was trying to achieve, offering helpful advice and product recommendations throughout.

Excellent service and product
Very quick and helpful from my first e-mail asking for advice on painting the roof sections on my rather old horse trailer. The machinery enamel paint was delivered within a couple of days and had been very well packaged. I have found the paint easy to work with and I am very pleased with the result.

Metal Enamel Paint
Purchased from this company as they had the paint I required for the deck of my boat. Went for JCB yellow to brighten it up. It certainly is standing out from the crowd in the Marina now !
The paint goes on really well with a brush and roller. I’ve been using it on sunny days and it touch drys quick but not so fast as you will have any probs with.
It was a really good price and I’ve ordered some white to try that next.
Very quick delivery well packaged.

Informative webpage

Paint Good , Customer services not so
I ordered some paint on Friday morning and received an email confirmation straight away. I needed the paint by the following Wednesday, so I phoned and emailed the company for an update. Unfortunately, the phone was never answered, and the email response was just a standard “we have your order and it’s being processed,” with no clear delivery information, even after I asked twice.
The paint was eventually delivered by APC, who were excellent—very informative and reliable. However, the customer service from the paint company could definitely be more helpful, especially since they already knew the order had left the factory when I contacted them.
That said, the paint itself is very good; it’s just the customer service that let the experience down.

As your order was placed on Friday, we couldn’t give a delivery date immediately because it still needed to be freshly made, but it was produced on Monday, dispatched the same day, and delivered on Tuesday.
