I have been trying for months to get $67 from my mother’s annuity after her death. I have gotten the runaround and have had to call numerous times. I received a Next of Kin form to complete and mail in - they refuse to do any business over email. I completed the form and had it returned as I completed the line “Social Seccurity Number” with my SS# and the line “Relationship to Deceased” with “Son”. Apparently, I was magically supposed to know that I should have completed the lines with the estate’s tax ID # and the name of the estate. In addition, they did not enclose a new form to complete or an address to send the new form to. I called AGAIN since I could not find the form on their website. They promised to fax it to me and 5 days later, I have still not received it. You win Pacific Life, you win. You have worn me down. I give up. You clearly need the $67 more than my siblings and I do.
Customer support is terrible . They have support personnel that have very thick and hard to understand accents . On top of that they sound so far away you can hardly hear them.
The reason for the call is they changed my draft date and won't change it back . So I have to pay double payments to get them to change to another draft date different from the one I started with . So very frustrating!! They can change dates without money but I have to be double charged for me to change dates !!!! Unbelievable!
Disappointed and Denied Without Proper Review
My experience with Pacific Life Insurance was extremely frustrating and disappointing. I was denied coverage without any prior notice or explanation. After investigating, I found out the decision was based on a misdiagnosis in my medical records—something that could have easily been clarified had they reached out. There was no attempt to verify the information or give me a chance to respond. For a company that deals with something as important as life insurance, this lack of transparency and professionalism is unacceptable. I cannot recommend Pacific Life as a trustworthy provider.
I called looking for my policy number. Customer service would not provide it for me even tho I answered all the security questions correctly. Then she hung up on me. I work in customer service, and this was WILD to me.
Should be negative xero star ability.
Was only remaining heir to about $30k life insurance policy. (& They are FULLY AWARE that this is likely) But aunt developed cognitive functions fairly rapidly, upon following up on notes to me, pac life continued to come with "policy lapsed" (well of course it lapsed she wasn't paying almost everything in this state & your little $300-$400 in monthly fee totals dont justify robbing a overworked family of $30,000 for a few hundred in fees low, shady, and dispicable)
Pacific Life has taken over my pension plan payments. I need withholding tax taken before payment of my pension. It has taken over a month for Pacific Life to make the change. I have called the help line four times with still no resolution. The staff are polite but hugely ineffective.
I made rhe mistake of contacting them about a claim related to a pension fund I had. Soon after I realised that I didn't actually have a claim to make and one day after my initial and only contact I cancelled everything. Now I can't get rid of them. In spite of phone calls and email I've made to them they persisted in phone messages and now I'm receiving text messages and emails. Avoid this company completely.
I had a variable annuity with Pacific Life for over 14 years. I decided it was time to transfer my IRA to Charles Schwab because the return on my investment was weak, and I was around 600.00 a year in fees. After I completed the application with Charles Schwab, the company contacted Pacific Life to request the transfer. Pacific Life transferred my account to Charles Schwab. This is when the nightmare began. Someone at Pacific Life made a mistake. The funds shouldn’t have been sent until they received a custodial release from the investment advisor, who was the custodian on the account. Pacific Life realized they made a mistake and recalled the funds from Charles Schwab. The funds were transferred for the first time to Charles Schwab around March 24th. The funds finally made it to Charles Schwab around May 9th. It took six weeks to complete the transaction, which should have taken a few days. Over the six weeks, I talked to more than 12 customer service people and managers. The market had changed during the six weeks when the check finally showed up at Schwab. My account had lost about 675.00 in value. I explained my situation to Luke, a manager at Pacific Life. He had little empathy for my poor experience or the financial loss, even though his company made a mistake that cost me money, time, and frustration. My suggestion is to keep looking if you're considering Pacific Life.
HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have been attempting to get financial documents for my Mom's medicaid application since Nov 1. It is now December 21 - no documents. I have jumped through all of their hoops. They said they would mail the document - it never arrived. Then they said they would fax the document - it was never received. Then they said they would have manager call me by today - and that never happened. You can't get an actual person to own your request. There is no follow-through and each time you have to call in, there is a 45 minute wait and you have to explain the situation all over again.
Got a good insurance rate for term life. They don't notify you before scheduled payments. The website is basic and the billing history doesn't actually show history. Nobody ever responds to emails. I would leave but now rates are higher everywhere else.
AVOID at all costs. This place hunted me down for a policy I never knew I had. Refuse to pay and keep adding conditions to get it. Can't trust anything they tell you! Not only is this review TRUE but it was also written once I knew I was never getting nothing. I'll be back
Before my father passed he told me of two Pacific Life insurance policies. After his death I contacted Pacific Life multiple times and multiple times they told me there was only one. After so many calls and time wasted, I finally accepted what they said and redeemed the one policy. Nearly a year went by and I received a letter addressed to my dad notifying him of an RMD on a policy. Thankfully, I had his mail forwarded to my home. Again, I called Pacific Life and at first they denied it and I had to argue and argue. Finally they "found" the policy and made good on it. No admittance of error or apology. Don't trust Pacific Life.
