OneUnited Bank stands out for having the friendliest customer service people I know. They are expert at what they do and handle my inquiries very efficiently. Talking to them makes me feel like I am back in the old days when community banks were the norm, and you were treated with respect and dignity.

Refused to reimburse me my money in a timely matter

I WILL NOT BANKING WITH THIS BANK EVER AGAIN ITS A JOKE NOT HELPFUL AT ALL MY CARD WAS STOLEN WHICH PUT ME IN THE NEGATIVE HAD A DIRECT DEPOSIT THE NEXT DAY AND WAS TOLD IT WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT REMEBUSING ME MY MONEY THE LADY WAS RUDE IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE A BLACK BANK BUT DO YA'LL REALLY HELP THE BLACK PEOPLE ALSO THEY SHOULD HAVE RULE THAT BEFORE THEY CHARGE YOU 37.00 OVERDRAFT FEE AT LEAST BE 50.00 DOLLARS OVER DRAFT NOT A 1 AS SOON AS I'M DONE WITH THIS MATTER I'M GOING BACK TO CHASE

At OneUnited Bank, once a new card is ordered, a digital version is typically issued within 24 hours so you may continue making purchases while waiting for your physical card.
Per our established terms and conditions, if you suspect an error or unauthorized transfer, the bank generally has 10 business days to investigate the claim and determine if an error occurred. If we require more time, we may take up to 45 days (or up to 90 days for new accounts or foreign-initiated transactions), but we will provisionally credit your account within 10 business days for the amount in question while we complete our review.

I love banking with OneUnited Bank

I love banking with OneUnited Bank. Showing up like Superman in my finances saving the day. I appreciate getting my pay checks two days early. I love the CashPlease Loan. I had a little issue going on with my online banking and the bank called me at home wanting to know what was going on and how can they help me, that made me feel so good to know my bank cares about me. Customer SERVICE Representatives are so sweet, professional, patient and always wanting to please customers. I love OneUnited Bank. Just one more awesome thing. OneUnited Bank rounds up each of my debit card purchases to the nearest dollar ("my change") at the end of each banking day and AUTOMATICALLY place my change in my savings account. I looked at my savings account one day and was so surprised and pleased to see how much money I had in my account.

One United Bank needs a lot of improvement for new customers

Unfortunately, I am impressed with One United Bank I applied for their secured credit card not only was I'm denied I didn't receive any notification via email. J had to go on their website, which can be confusing and check the status Also, I was sent a message stating that my deposit was immediately refunded Which was a lie I spoke with my bank, and I was told that they are waiting for one United bank to release my funds. Because as of now my account is in the negative because one United I was in the process of ordering checks online for my new checking account, with one united.Mind you I wasn't told that I couldn't order checks by the rep from one United Matter of fact I was told the opposite go online and order checks myself Long story short the system wouldn't process my order because I have to request assistance from a one United representative

Patronizing Doesn't Always Workout!!!

I waited over 30 days to receive my debt card. I had to call to enquire about the debit card. Waited until they sent another card. Then it takes 3 plus days to send money from One United to another bank. On top of waiting 3 days, One United charges $1 fee to do so.

Thank you for your feedback. We would like to clarify It takes 7 to 10 business days to receive your debit card. All customers can access their digital card with in 24 hours of their new card order.

There also multiple free ways for customers to move money in and out their account. Such as our surcharge free atms, funds transfer, and money moves for non instant deposits.

A great business place

Having a knowledgeable associate handling the case. Gives one a bit of relief feeling confident that it's getting done right. The bank was in a great visual state. Neat and orderly with security at the entry point. A good feeling knowing that when I visit my bank things will be done properly with excellent associates handling my papers.

Not 100 percent

The only thing somewhere far I don't like is, you don't let people know they have overvdraft protection if they don't want it. So merchant take from your account that they don't have permission or unauthorized. Then I call your customer care and they tell me I have to turn that feature off after being charged a healthy fee. Not right.

The Overdraft Privilege service strives to pay checks and automatic bill payments when funds are not available. For consumers, this service is only extended to ATM and everyday debit card transactions if you explicitly provide consent (opt-in).

If you were charged a fee, it was likely an Insufficient Funds Charge or Uncollected Funds Charge.

You have the option to Opt Out of Overdraft Privilege (our standard overdraft service) at any time. To opt out, you can call us at 877-663-8648. Opting out means all items presented against insufficient funds will be returned unpaid, which will result in an Insufficient Funds Charge.

Support a black owned business

I joined the organization specifically because it is one of just a few black owned banks. I have enjoyed my experience because they didn't give me problem, but when I did have issues they resolved it quickly, accurately, kindly, and professionally. I would recommend them without hesitation.
