I can only say that I faced severe racism from the management team at the Old Ship.
Do not stay at this location. Naomi & Sarah. Both managers seem professional on the outside however, they exploit the minimal power that they have to make others feel unwelcome. Isn’t it meant to be a welcoming hotel for PAYING guests. I have seen other reviews on these two. Sort it out!! How are they allowed to still be representing this hotel! Disgusting behaviour from both.

Steer clear of this place. These guys are on another level of subtle racism. I suggest the senior management keep a close eye on these two.
The were so embarrassing that another member of staff came and spoke to me in private after witnessing their behaviour as did another hotel stayer. Such a disgrace. REPORT THESE GUYS as they cannot be allowed to get away with how they treat people of colour. The demeanour, tone of voice, patronizing tone and overall customer service was vile. Do not allow these guys to get away with this. Report Report Report. 2025 now ladies. You're not getting away with it without being called out.

I recently stayed at The Old Ship Hotel, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. One of the main issues was the behavior of a staff member named Les, who seemed uninterested in helping and came across as rude and unprofessional. Rather than providing a welcoming atmosphere, Les’s attitude made interactions uncomfortable.

Additionally, the overall attitude of the staff left a lot to be desired. Instead of being friendly and accommodating, most of the staff appeared uninterested in guests’ needs. It felt as if providing good service was not a priority. I had hoped for a pleasant stay, but the negative atmosphere made it difficult to enjoy. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a welcoming experience.
