Our claim took 2 years and 3 months to complete. I felt I had to fight NFU for every penny! Not what anyone needs when they’ve had to move out of their home to dig up their entire floors. There was no compassion whatsoever!

The fact they listened to our story/claim.. it had all been so so stressful. But we received compensation so joy and relief. Everyone was helpful when I phoned. All resulted in joy!

After a car accident which I was not at fault, but my car was written off, NFU sorted everything at 5.30 in the morning, including recovery, getting home if needed,courtesy car the same day and a good prompt settlement. Honestly, I am absolutely furious. I thought I was going to be able to get a home insurance with NFU but just three days before my renewal, they let me down for a flippant reason.
Do not trust this company that is not reliable

My car was hit by a hgv driver who admitted that he did not see me on a roundabout and clipped my vehicle, a clear admission of driving without due care and attention. I felt that the person who dealt with my case at NFU did not challenge the other drivers insurance company robustly enough and was more prepared to accept liability for the accident then to spend any money defending my case. I will always maintain that this minor accident was not my fault, but I now have this on my insurance record for 3 yrs because of the ineptitude of the person who dealt with my side of the claim from NFU. I will never use this insurance company again who are more concerned with saving money than defending their clients.

Customer service was excellent, my claim got resolved swiftly, and staff so helpful, they really do go above and beyond to help.

Car insurance with NFU. About 40 years of driving without an accident, and then I crashed my car. Was impressed with the kindness, courtesy and efficiency of everyone I dealt with: police, recovery service and all NFU call handlers and engineers. I was very shocked and felt cared for. My claim has been settled and I can buy another car.

Unfortunately in 5 years my house insurance has doubled in price. Could not get hold of anyone at NFU to explain this, despite calling multiple times and being promised call backs. Feel like the service has significantly reduced as they have cut branches, while prices have continued to increase.
