New York Next - Furnished Rooms and Apartments Recensioni 14

I rented an apartment with Alohause for 4 months last year.
I have to admit that I was a bit worried at first, after reading many bad reviews about the company.
But now that my semester is over I can testify.
My experience with them was good: They were available for inquiries, the apartment matched my expectations and I got my deposit back.
The only thing with them is that you have to be very patient. You need to rerun several times to get a result.
Also I would not recommend renting an apartment close to Times square. The noise is very tiring.

Furnishing: The furnishing is awesome and they gave us everything that we need. The place is also super clean.

Agent: The agent that introduced me to the apartment working under them is very helpful and kind. He answered all my questions patiently and even helped me open my bank account here.

I had a lease through alohause (they use the same social media as NYN so I assume it's all one company) and I didn't really have any problems with the company itself. My biggest complaint is that they were airbnb-ing one of the rooms out (even though I had asked if they did this before I moved in and they told me they didn't). It was really annoying considering I had no idea when random people would just show up in my apartment and no one wants to live with a new pair of tourists every other weekend. I was lucky that 3 of us had signed actual leases so there was only one room that could have possibly been rented out. The room I moved into wasn't well cleaned when I arrived (a lot of dust, marks on the walls, drawers were dirty etc) but it is NYC so I honestly wasn't surprised by it. Another annoying part of my stay is one of my roommates really sucked - he was super aggressive, left his stuff all over the couch, never did his dishes, smoked inside all the time and had stolen the TV cord so no one could watch TV - but I can't really blame the company for how he acted and it is the chance you take when deciding to live with strangers. I did get my security deposit back about 2.5 weeks after I moved out so I didn't have a problem there, but I did hound them about it (NYC laws only give renters 14 days to return security deposits and they tried to tell me I wouldn't get it back for 2 months). I read a lot of reviews saying security deposits weren't returned, but I think if you make it clear that you know the law states they only have 2 weeks to return it then they should return it without a problem. Overall my stay was fine, but I probably wouldn't recommend living at 1600 broadway unless you're coming as a tourist and don't plan on staying for long.

Awesome experience - Very accommodating and beautiful apartments. Made it easy for me as an international student to get accommodation in my preferred area!

Easy process and amazing follow up. My room was an absolute pleasure and I truly enjoyed staying with other likeminded (student) people like myself.

If you're looking for a private furnished room in Manhattan - this is truly recommended!

1600 Broadway is a beautiful building. Unfortunately, the once luxury apartments have been divided into tiny pieces and New York Next is renting them out to any random person. The leases are short-term, no-questions-asked. It's unfortunate as this is a historic building in Times Square that is being exploited for some extra cash. If I owned an apartment in this building, I would sell it ASAP due to New York Next.

Stayed there for 3 month and the kitchen and bathroom was very unhygienic. I also didn't get my security deposit back! They didn't respond to my emails I sent them about the issue with my security deposit, even as I contacted a lawyer.

This company is a scam. I left after one month and will never return. I am writing this review to warn others. STAY AWAY. They have several names in order to avoid being noticed -- Alohause, Lewin and Kaplan Enterprise, New York Next, Aloha, etc. I found them through Airbnb and it was so bad. Then I found out and confirmed that they arbitrarily set the rates for the rooms and steal your security deposit. Still waiting for it to this day. I paid $100 for monthly cleaning and no one came. My apartment had flooding and utility issues and they never contacted the building to come and fix them. They don't check for anyone's background and I had criminals, crazy people, and gang people as roommates. People just randomly move in and the company says nothing at all. Plus, they showed me photos of the room I booked and a list amenities only for me to get there and the room was TOTALLY different with amenities missing. The photos showed my room having a closet but I came and there was no closet. Nevermind trying to contact them about anything (literally even if you are dying they do not care -- they only care about money). They will never pick up. Stay far, far away from this company! I was able to find a much cheaper, cleaner, and safer place. AVOID THIS COMPANY.

Had a fairly decent experience for a few months until I moved out and did not receive my security deposit back ( I moved out in September and it is now January).
Phone number doesn’t work and they no longer answer your emails.
Not OK!! Will not recommend to anyone.

I have lived in one apt at 1600 Broadway for more than one year. They did not lower my rent price during covid and I kept paying them $1,800 for a very small room where you cannot even breathe (even though I asked them to make a discount because I was not working at that time). I was quiet until I found out that they have rented all other rooms even bigger than my room for only $1,000. And guess what? They did not even know the people they rented the room. I had to call the police one night because a guy was under drug and completely out of control and he started threatening us asking for money. I was so scared that I spent all night in the common areas of the building. Upon inspecting the apartment, the police told us that AirB&B is illegal in NYC and that three rooms in the apartment (as build with the wall and no window) were definitely illegal. That being said, this kind of "real estate agency" has no clue about the people who rent the rooms. They basically could rent the room even to an animal in case the animal would pay them.
I think that animals would have been more respectful, clean, and educated rather than those drunk people who I had to share the apartment with. Not only the agency did not comply with the safety rules, they did not comply with the main rule to inspect people before renting, to make the property a safe place, to communicate the tenants where they keep their security deposit. They do not comply with all the NYC and NY State real estate rules. I have no clue how they keep doing such a bad business. Plus, do not believe to the pictures showed to you, because those pics are remote and the apt is not that new or clean as it may look. They do not give back your security deposit. They do not reply to your email about that. They are still keeping MY MONEY. I have already acted accordingly with my real estate attorney. I have known may tenants who share my same issues, I have all the evidence to prove their bad business. You are embarrassing. I had to risk my life because of you.

I was staying with NYN in fall 2019 for 5 months. The worst customer service, I could imagine. Several issues and they did not care. I had horrible roommates and wanted to move out earlier, explained my situation, but they did not care. Never ever going to stay with them again and would not recommend it in all aspects. It is not less expensive, as it appears at first sight because several fees and additional costs are charged. After moving out, I had to wait for my deposit for 4 months and only after threatened them with legal consequences, they paid the deposit back. You can barely find reviews because they manage to delete them somehow.

New York Next swindled me and my housemates out of $1500 and blocked me on social media when I began to complain (I tried to email them but they cut all correspondence). Do not rent with these guys!

I had a semester abroad in NYC and lived with NYN for four months. I did not have any problems during my time in NYC.

However, after my move out I did not get back my security deposit until now - seven months after my move out. I do not receive any answers on my emails and am not able to contact anyone.

I am sad, that the stay with NYN turned out to be so expensive.

I've planned an exchange semester in NY at March 2020. Due to Corona-virus I wasn't able to come to New York. First they wanted to put me off and told me three times: next week there will be a decision about your cancelation. Result: I´ve payed already 2 Months of my 3 months stay + one month deposit and didn't get a single euro back. To hold back my payment for the rent is unfair but may be legal, because we have an lease contract, but to hold the deposit is just criminal.
4 Fellow students this semester have the same problem.

Contact is more than unprofessional.They even ignored a lot of our E-Mails.
After telling our University the problem, we found out, that 2 Students last semester had also big problems about getting back their deposit.

Due to Covid-19 entry stop I could not use the rented apartment.
No money back not even get the deposit.
Very bad correspondence, hardly ever answers.
Definitely not recommended!
