I have been on many of NWS trips and everyone has been superb - reached or even surpassed my expectations.
My latest safari to Botswana however has to be the best holiday I have ever had. It will be hard to follow, but David is trying for me. The personal contacts have always been helpful both at the Brighton office and in the country, but also at the airports and arrivals. I have joined small group organised trips to explore gorillas and polar bears in the wild and extended these with personalised additions. Botswana was a totally personalise excursion over four weeks and the welcome by the lodges, quality of the guides, accommodation and above all game-viewing in different climates and terrains were unsurpassable.

We have taken 2 trip’s with NWS and have been pleased both time The first was a small ship tour in the Arctic. The other a private family tour of Brazil and Argentina.

Throughout the trip the only surprises we had were pleasant ones. All the guides were outstanding and the accommodations great.

We loved the planning sessions with your reps. They listened and delivered what we wanted. The trip was like nothing we experienced before. All the providers were top notch.

For the amount of money that we paid we thought that at the first lodge the food was very restricted. We were offered mushroom soup as a starter it came in a huge bowl but only contained one spoonful of soup! When the meal finished we were still quite hungry.
Breakfast the next day we were offered a full English breakfast but was told if we had an egg we couldn't have beans, if we had bacon we could not have hash browns, if we had sausage we couldn't have the second option.
All very bizarre and very restrictive on the amount of food we could have.
The food at our last lodge could only be described as poor quality, no choice, cold and on our last night there our evening meal consisted of cold sticky rice and nothing else our guide had the same disgusting meal.
We complained to our booking rep on our return home who was only interested in our next booking and when we said that we would not go to South East Asia again but would stay with Africa, she just said that her colleague did this area and put the phone down on us!! We have now booked our next two holidays both to Africa but with another company. If this is your customer care then we prefer to keep well away from you. You are not a cheap company and we were not expecting cheap poor quality poorly served food.

An excellent personal service and staff who are knowledgeable and thorough. A very easy process to plan quite a complex trip with a variety of stops. Would highly recommend.

The experience was top notch from the time I got off the plane to the time I left. The guides, the wildlife, the people, all just simply wonderful. Natural World Safaris is the marquee tour operator and I will travel with them again.

NWS create journeys that have an extra touch of magic, finding experiences that are not the usual tourist ones and finding guides who are specialists in their field. They can take you to the countries that other tour operators do not work in. We went on 3 amazing and memorable trips last year, South Pole, Gabon and Socotra and will be off to India soon, all arranged with the friendly and knowledgeable teams at NWS

Other than the flights when BA let us down badly every thing else was above expectations. We loved it all once we got there and were treated like royalty wherever we stayed.

We do not recommend booking a holiday with this company. Their online literature gives the impression of a professional organisation offering a wonderful opportunity to swim with blue whales but once out in Sri Lanka the organisation was nothing short of shambolic.

We paid £14k (excluding flights, food, and beverage) to go on a Sri Lankan blue whale safari trip that was without doubt the most disorganised, disappointing, and most expensive holiday we have ever experienced. Aside from the trip being a strong contender for the world's worst honeymoon, we were misled to believe that the Picture Adventure Expeditions operation that Natural World Safaris commissioned for this holiday, would have permits to swim with blue whales in the Northeast of Sri Lanka. This was what sold us the holiday. The literature sent to us from Natural World Safaris in both selling us the trip and again after we had paid the first instalment for it, boasted that they work with the top blue whale scientist in Sri Lanka: Asha De Vos. By coincidence, we met two acquaintances of Asha's on a later part of our holiday in Sri Lanka whilst in Wilpattu. They were surprised that Asha would be involved with an operator that allowed tourists to swim with whales and contacted her to verify this claim. It turns out Natural World Safaris were falsely using Asha De Vos' name and she publicly denied all association with Natural World Safaris (which we confirmed by contacting her directly ourselves).

When we contacted Natural World Safaris (at the end of the trip) asking for proof of the permits to swim with whales in the Northeast of Sri Lanka, we were informed that although they had been requested by Natural World Safari's "partner", they had not been confirmed because Natural World Safaris had failed to provide our passport details to them despite them having had them for over a year or contacting us to check whether they had changed.

During our holiday, the incompetence and recklessness of the employed boat captain was truly alarming. This “personally taught” (by Natural World Safaris) captain had no idea how to safely drive a power boat and the tour leader from Picture World Safaris did nothing to intervene despite the distress of his three clients. As a qualified yachtsman and RYA powerboat driver myself, I had to intervene several times to curb his ‘joy riding’ style of driving a speed boat in high waves and at beaching it too. Our accommodation at one point in the trip was little more than a hostel and of the quality that even the cockroaches were trying to move out. On top of this, our guide and operator of Picture Adventure Expeditions, Josh, seemed to be concentrating more on running his printing business back in India than ensuring his guests, who had each forked out £7k were kept safe and received reasonable value for the holiday they paid for.

Having said all this, our experience seems to pale in comparison to other customers who were kidnapped on their trip!

I am going to go ahead and respond to NSW’s response to my review regarding my kidnapping while on a tour I paid them $8k USD that they brokered out to Wild Frontiers. Their response is just words of a typed letter I never received. Where’s the actual hard copy? and where is the offer of help? Trust me I would have responded. They would not respond to my attorney they just forwarded to their insurance and did nothing, offered nothing. Yes they were in contact w/ us embassy but that was for themselves as Im sure any intelligent person could surmise why since no one knew i Was going to make it back alive.
Here is fact.
They did nothing for me they took no action to help me overcome the trauma that I experienced while in their care And continue to experience on a daily basis. I have had to roll with the loss of a family heirloom platinum diamond ring that I hid in my bra during my kidnapping but ultimately lost( I believe on the savanna after being taken out for a ransom call and doing a deep bend because My back was so sore from sleeping on hard packed ground with only a sheet to cover me with)I hid it for fear that my kidnappers would chop off my finger to get it. I have had to roll with the massive loss of income to my business because of my disability due to my kidnapping. I have had to roll with a loss of friends and family who cannot understand the ordeal that I continue to go through. I have had & continue to pay for therapy to help me work through this trauma.
I have had to live in fear, On a daily basis, in a way that I never experienced before. I was that woman who went to uganda by herself and by the way there was no one to meet me at the airport when I got off the airplane this is how My tour started with them.
This tour company did nothing but distance themselves from me and my awful experience again while under their supposed care. They can write whatever they want to try and damage control their choice to handle my experience the way that they did. Nothing changes that no matter what they say. In my opinion their letter reads very cold which is how they have behaved this entire time. Again their choice and now that I am getting stronger it is my choice to speak out about their deplorable behavior & my trauma to warn others which I believe to be fair. They had an opportunity to help one of their Clients recover losses from the most traumatic of experiences and again they chose not to.
Yet they consistently sent me out advertisements about their tours and they most certainly took uganda off, it was no longer available trust me again I looked it up.
In closing their response is too late cheap talk to try and cover up & salvage.
Also there’s quite a bit of victim shaming going on here, that it’s my fault I didn’t respond to them, me the victim. They’ve done this before when they tried to get another review taken down on a different site saying that my review will hurt Africa. No! that’s not it, me being kidnapped on a tour I purchased from them will hurt Africa. They are the ones that didn’t provide any kind of security that others in the same area, QENP, had. So, I’d ask what have their actions been?…nothing and those speak much louder than their cheap tone deaf words of CYA.
That’s it!
Anyone reading this it would be My advice to pick better if you’re going to travel to dangerous places.

only use them on their regular trips - Borneo and Churchill were great but did a special one to Seychelles and got no help - no tips on eletrical or tipping and the worst - no schedule - and no confirms - had to finally call hotels directly to get the confirms as we could not get in without them to the country. specialist never got back to us. It was the most in the dark trip we have ever taken -- didn't know the plane times, who was picking us up - no vouchers that the hotels couldn't believe we didn't have....

I have travelled with NWS about 18 months ago to Svalbard and it was impeccably planned and executed, truly a trip of a lifetime. Not only was the trip great but customer service is truly excellent, from the very responsive and helpful destination specialists, to the trip app, I have felt well taken care of.
But it is the current experience of arranging my next trip with them, and re-arranging due to Covid, that really makes this company stand out. I could not ask for a better service in these uncertain times, and I cannot wait to plan more trips with them in the future.

Echoing previous reviews (that seem to no have been removed from the faceobok page) in that they were budget tours at luxury prices. I had a number of major issues on my tour that took months to get resolved with the company but I am glad they were willing to resolve them. It remains my worst experience traveling in my 10+ years of consistent travel. There seems to be issues with internal communication between the company and guides in terms of itinerary. E.g., I booked my flight 6 months prior to the tour but was repeatedly asked by the guide (and eventually made to despite not wanting to) leave the tour a day early to go back to the city (with the airport) because the guide: 1) thought my flight was at an inconvenient time, and 2) another employee wanted my spot in the van because they wanted to go to the city to see their spouse. This resulted in my having to take a ferry alone that docked at midnight with all my luggage, which is a stressful way to end a trip as a female in a strange city. There were other big issues (e.g., guide making a joke about my drink being roofied, waiting for 3hrs while the guide filmed footage for their other business) that, for the sake of length, I won't get into. I wasn't going to write a review but I came across this article recently where I recognized my boat from the tour, and, given the company's values, it made me deeply uncomfortable that we were being viewed by locals to be engaging in both unsafe (for snorkelers) and unethical behavior for whale watching. I reached out to the author to provide more context and agree that the majority of his observations were correct. Happy to discuss my experiences more via private message if helpful.

Thank you so much to the team at Natural World Safaris (NWS), especially Oliver Greenfield for creating a tailormade itinerary. I’ve had the best adventure in Botswana, so much so that I’m already thinking about my next trip back to Africa.

Would highly recommend NWS and to work with Oliver to create the trip of your lifetime. He’s knowledgable, friendly, professional and helpful.

The whole experience from enquiringly about the destinations to invoicing to travel was very well communicated and organised. The company is transparent with the partners they work with and the conservation they support.
