The service was fine. However, the staff are not trained in safety. I was in a potentially dangerous situation and asked your staff for help and they announced I had asked for help in front of the person I was asking for help from making the situation much worse. Thankfully a friend had arrived. Please educate your staff.

My car was booked in for 4 tyres at the Reading branch on the Basingstoke Road at 10 am eventually I got my car back at at 12.45 !

On Christmas day I travelled on the motorway & discovered I had wheel wobble so booked it back in to get it correct at the beginning of Jan. Got the car back & still not right. I phoned Halfords who fitted me in at their Wokingham branch & they r balanced my front wheels on 12 Jan and although my steering was no longer shaking the back end was. They fitted me back in this morning and balanced the rear wheels but found that they had no weights on them what do ever!!!
Hence the back of my car was shaking.
I will never go to National again, however Halfords at Wokingham will certainly see me again. Great set up, great staff can't recommend enough!!!

From the first conversation with National Tyres to them completing the work was outstanding service. They were honest with me at all times, They explained to me it would be cheaper for me to buy the tyres on the their online website and book it in. When I took my car, they told me how long it would take, they called me when my car was ready, they also said they weren't able to do the wheel alignment, as they didn't have the spec because my car was too new, they explained what this meant, and where I could get it done and refunded me for wheel alignment. Cars can be a mindfield, when you don't know alot about them and you have to trust in a supplier, you hope you aren't going to get ripped off.
This honesty is what will keep me going back to National Tyres, thank you :-)

Booked in for Alignment and Balancing, they didn't do the balancing.
When i called i did mention 'Wheel weighting' instead of balancing which caused a bit of confusion.
However, on the day i had to call to find out if the work was done or not (made three calls that day they didn't call me to let me know).
On the phone i asked them how it went and said alignment is done, asked about balancing and they said it's not down for this so it's not done.
They then said they will get it done today, called twice more and then finally called them at 4:30 to a reply of we have been expecting you to pick the car up... how was i to know without them calling me???

They said everything was done and balancing.

But still had a shake on the steering wheel on the motorway.

Took to another garage two days later and they did the balancing, it was very out.

Terrible service, will never go back and will tell anyone who wants to listen not to go to them.

I took my car in for brake pads replacement, both Darren and James were really helpful. I have also booked in for full service next month.

Staff not friendly no coffee machine and charged extra £20 for the privilege of having tyres fitted on the same day.

Easy to use website to navigate.

Each time I go onto the website to book /buy new tyres, it remembers my sizes, plus I find it effortless booking tyres from this site.

Below is email to National Tyres customer service which has gone unanswered:

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to you in complaint of my car being left unsafe after having new tyres fitted at National Tyres on Basingstoke Road in Reading on 23 September last year 2022. I had four Goodyear tyres fitted at a cost of nearly £600.

However, after having my car (Alfa Romeo Giulia L77WPC) put in for its MOT on Friday 30 June 2023 it became apparent that your fitter had been severely negligent in carrying out the task. So much so that the car FAILED the MOT for a missing wheel nut on the front passenger side wheel - seemingly he forgot to put this on and the driver's side front wheel was put on the wrong way around. No one else has worked on my car since and my wheel is kept in a locked compound at night and is only use to and from work where there is also a secure garage.

Obviously the missing wheel nut is the most serious but also having an asymmetric tyre put on the wrong way not affects the handling and stability of the car when corning particularly in the wet. Put the two together and you have the potential for disaster.

Happy with tyres and tracking, friendly staff and experience. The appointment was on time.

The website booking process is not robust when it comes to selecting a branch or postcode finder option.

When I called the call centre I was told by the agent that I wasn’t using the site correctly. As a web developer I assured him that I was. When I did it the way he asked. The tyres increased from £145.99 to £155 each. I suspect the reason why I was not allowed to chose a branch was as the prices had changed due to my IP address being monitored. I did the same search again switching off my VPN and got the £145.99 price, but when it came to branch selection, I was not able to select and proceed to payment. I think that this is very underhand and it cost £18 more than I was expecting to pay.

Furthermore, when I tried to resolve by phoning the branch, the said tyre was £216! The last time I purchased these 12 months ago they were £121 each - this is a 28% increase. I know inflation is high but this is taking the biscuit. When I was told about the take over by Halfords last year by the person on the front desk at National Tyres I said ‘that means price increases’, I was not wrong was I.

I would suggest that you do your searches in incognito mode to get the best prices

Daren very friendly who helped to book online and it was n't that difficult when I booked on monday.
I tried to book on sunday but it was not clear about appointment fee so I didn't book on sunday.

This is the first time that I have booked an MOT on-line.
I found the experience quick and easy.
The confirmation of the booking was quick with an email that I could print.

Easy process, good service, will use again.
Taking 1 star just because would prefer to be able to have the option to create an account for historical data like purchases, bookings, etc.
