I recently had my new car serviced at the garage in Crewe. I paid for full diagnostic checks and a major service. The team picked up on a faulty steering system and with my permission sorted out the problem on the day including resetting the tracking. I was very pleased to drive away with peace of mind and would be more than happy to return in the future.
POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
Went online and ordered 4 x Goodyear tyres , Paid on line as it gave me a 15% discount (£414.77) and booked in to fit today , (it seems i input the wrong size (205 should be 225) Dropped the car off but received a call 1 hour later saying they did not have the tyres and could not understand why it let me book the fitting, I asked what tyres they did have and happy to pay the price asked if i could still have the discount to be told no as its over the phone, so i said can i go online and was told yes but i would have to pay the full price again £537 and they would refund me my initial payment which would take 5 working days to go back into my account as they were not able to transfer the payment over ( this is 2026 not the stone age) so i said ok i will just have a refund , went to collect my car and asked for proof of the refund only to be told it wouldn't happen until the tyres had arrived ??? i asked when that would be and told in the afternoon , seems to me that they just did not want to action the refund today , they said i would receive confirmation by Email today mmmm lets see , Managed to call another company who had the tyres i want and did not want money up front only when the job was done (Mr Tyre) maybe today will teach me a lesson that the big companies don't give a toss about the customer
Free Tyre Check
Had a booking at 1230 today for a free tyre check. On arrival was told had to leave the car for 2-3 hours! How utterly ridiculous to offer a booking system and then expecting me to leave my car and no where to go for a simple free tyre check. Will take my custom elsewhere to replace all my 4 tyres before my MOT next month.
So unhelpful
Used them for an MOT. They failed it, which is fine. But weren’t remotely interested in doing the work.
I won’t be back ever again.
Worst staff i have seen ever
Worst staff i have seen ever. Rude and not helpful at all. Halfords why you are partner with this people. They are ruining Halfords value.
Disappointing service and rude staff
Booked a tyre check for 10:30am, on arrival the young lad who appeared to be the only person there didn’t seem particularly bothered or happy to see a customer. Returned 1 hour 10 minutes later as hadn’t heard anything but expected it to be completed by then, same member of staff said hadn’t looked at my car yet. No apologies and appeared very disinterested. I said I’d take my key and go elsewhere as expected it to be done by now as usually very quick. Staff rudely said that well the time is a ‘drop off’ slot and not a time to complete and that it says this in the booking email.
I checked my booking email and whilst it does state this - it states this if you have booked a ‘drop off slot’ which I had not. I had the check booked for 10:30. So not my error.
Took my car down to Selecta Tyres with no appointment and they repaired my tyre within 20 minutes and with friendly and polite staff.
Excellent service
I booked online but mixed up my dates and went in a day early,. Despite having other vehicles booked in they fitted mine in between and had my tyres changed well within the hour. Excellent and friendly service and good value.

Crewe branch fitting 4 tyres today was told would take 1 hour. Took over 2 hours with no explanation and became angry when queried the delay. Not very professional. Web order ref W8456282

Absolute amateurs, and also lie to you on top of that..
I went to have a simple tyre change, old for new when a so called technician snapped a locking wheel nut with the use of a power / impact gun. They phoned my wife to say this might happen but only after they had snapped it. They strongly denied this but my camera in the car tells me otherwise. I spoke to the branch manager and gave him every chance to admit there wrong doings, but he insisted this wasn't the case they followed procedures. They say it was over-tightened!. I took my vehicle to a second garage who said that all the other wheels locking nuts were all tightened correctly!. The last person to touch the wheel was a range rover technician, so I think it is safe to say that the range rover and the second opinion garage were probably trustworthy.
So after insisting that they were in the right and that the locking nut was over tightened, I am 1 hours labour in costs a broken wheel locking nut down and no new tyre...
Thanks National tyres Crewe you really are specialists....

Not impressed…Why are Halfords ruining the good reputation which National Tyres has in Crewe.
We as a family are not too impressed with National Tyres since they've become joined with Halfords.
We cannot knock the staff at Macon Way in Crewe, (Ashley, Matty, Kyle, Matty, Mark & Co) they are all diamonds, respectful, and always most polite and cheerful.
My problem is all to do with the new call centres that serve both the stores and the tyre fitting operations. Our conversing with the personnel we can often barely understand & sometimes they can also misunderstand you. (language) It is just so frustrating. Some employees have no idea what the company's price match promise is or what this also entails.
We had two better-priced quotes from two other local companies for the same exact tyres. These were Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 tyres: 225/45 R17 94Y XL
These were also inclusive and without tracking quotations. (we still need to address the tracking)
Incidentally, the steering re-alignment/tracking machine was broken at Crewe on the afternoon of the fitting, but we were not told this before turning up on site.
Overall, it was a terrible and more expensive experience than it should have been. Add to this, we are still without tracking to our two front tyres which were purchased new, (money already taken) and we are still waiting for the call back to see if National Tyres/Halfords can price match over a week later. Not going to hold my breath either...

So you drive in with an illegal tyre,or flat tyre or just phone up for new tyres….your told not that they do not have the tyres in but we cannot fit you in today? And this was a 3 national tyres centres, however as I drove past one they have 5 bays? With no cars in them what so ever, don’t know what’s going on but companies are now will to throw money away rather when they have staff waiting and doing nothing,how is this cost effective?and we wonder why companies are going to the wall…. I even asked them have the days gone where you can just turn up and get a legal tyre or puncture done? He said yes you need to book in advance 😂 I’ll remember that the next time my tyre needs replacing because of a defect,National would have you drive home with illegal tyre rather than replace it by the staff that are doing nothing at that time,

I booked an appointment one week in…
I booked an appointment one week in advance for a wheel alignment check and brought the car in on time. About 40 mins after the appointment time I returned and was told that it might take all day for my car to be sorted. Sorry I cannot afford to waste my time like this and will not be using this branch again.

Shocking customer service from so called Manager
To whomever it concerns
I was so disappointed at the argumentative attitude of the so called Supervisor/ manager.
I was booked in at 12pm, apparently, although I was sat at home, waiting! I thought for a phone call to let me know my tyres had come in.
I went to the depot around 1230 and asked why I hadn't received a phone call, the person (I will refer to him as person as he does not deserve the accolade of manger or supervisor) said he told me to come in at 12pm, I asked the person the reason he had taken my phone number if not to ring me when my tyres had arrived, he said I told you 12 and now you have missed your slot, and will have to wait for 45mins.
I didn't have to wait, because i left.
I was not dealing with this complete and utter goof, I went up the road to one of your competitors and ended up spending £800.00 on tyres and brakes and received excellent customer service.
I suggest you encourage your area manager to place this person on a customer service course, I run my own business and have three vans and my car, plus my wife's vehicle, I will never use NT again and nor will my friends and family.
This will also now be placed on Trustpilot to encourage people to make a different / better choice than National Tyres in Crewe.
