Waste of time, Avoid!!

I took my car in for a free exhaust check after my engine management light came on. I provided the diagnostic fault code at the time and explained that I believed the issue was likely the sensor. I was told this would be checked. An hour later I was informed that the exhaust had been resealed and that this had resolved the issue. Unfortunately, the engine light came back on a few days later.
I rebooked the car and clearly explained when dropping it off that the exhaust had already been resealed during the previous visit and that the problem was still ongoing. I again offered the diagnostic code but was told it wasn’t needed as they would run their own diagnostic.

I heard nothing all day. When I called at around 4pm, I was told they were too busy to call me and that once again they had resealed the exhaust — despite me already explaining that this had been done before and had not fixed the issue. Only after I questioned this did they finally run a diagnostic check, which confirmed the exact same fault code I had originally provided weeks earlier, based on this code they suggest the sensor would need replacing which I mentioned on my first visit, by that point it was too late in the day to do the work.

If the diagnostic had been run in the morning as originally stated, this could have been resolved. Instead, my time was wasted, unnecessary work was repeated, and the issue still remains unresolved after 2 visits. Absolute waste of time, I will not be returning and would not recommend.

Went to National Tyres to assess tyre damage thru a loose screw embedded in my tyre.
Advised the tyre was not repairable.
Sourced a replacement and fitted two days later at National Tyres.
All excellent work by John and the crew at Market Street, Aberdeen.

Avoid.

tbh honest I never used them because they cancelled the MOT I had booked ont he morning it was due. Fair enough, things happen but two things really annoyed me. First it was the call to cancel where they began by saying they had been trying to contact me for a few days but had been unable to. They have my mobile no and my email and I received plenty of other calls/messages in that time period. The biggie is though that they took payment on the 7th Jan and I now finally have confirmation that it will be refunded on the 21st. Can't help feel I'v been royally conned!

I visited for a simple puncture repair for 245/R45/18 tyre but was told I needed a full tyre replacement. They quoted £197.99 for the tyre, despite the exact same model being listed on their website for £153.99. When I questioned the price difference, I was told that website prices don’t apply in-store.

After the replacement, I noticed the new tyre was three grades higher than my other tyres hence more expensive. When I asked why, I was told they didn’t have the matching grade in stock. I found this extremely unprofessional and misleading. It felt like they took advantage of the situation, knowing I was already at the garage.

I wouldn’t even recommend this garage to my enemy.

Market Street Branch Aberdeen. Appalling A187b034975

Market Street Branch Aberdeen.
Booked and paid online for new tyre. Arrived early to be told there was no guarantee that tyre would arrive from Glasgow and that this was a regular occurrence.
Told to call at 12 noon to see if tyre was on the van. Called 5 times and no answer.
Went to the Branch to be met with more defensive and obnoxious attitude.
No-one apologised for all the mess ups and the total waste of half a day. Staff don't care, place is a shambles. Online complaints procedure unavailable due to no agents!
Cross the road and go to Kwik Fit! Avoid this place at all costs.

Wrong tyre fitted

Ordered tyre through Tyre Shopper with fitting at National Tyres. I was told on arrival that for some reason my tyre had not arrived so they would fit a better tyre at no cost to myself. After returning home I see that they have fitted the cheapest possible budget tyre even though it was a mid range that I paid for.

Never again

Never again. My appointment in Aberdeen/Market Street for mot was changed 3 times. Car was there for one week as they were too busy to fix it. Air in the breaks, almost hit in other car when went out of the yard.

Went to fix the puncture after having a…

Went to fix the puncture after having a nail in the tyre, after I picked the car there was a dent in the car doors and the lacquer scratched badly. When noticed and came straight back, was told the manager will contact me next day. I needed to make the call, the manager said over the phone it was a dog scratch and that it was there before. Of course it wasn't, and a dog scratch... No comment, pictures say it all. Still waiting what they will do about it. Avoid the garage at all costs. Will update after further contact.
02/05/2024 Update: I have been ignored by the branch manager Ricky, when promised to be called after all of the above. No answer, made a complaint through the official paths, I have received a call saying to go for a quote, as they could not do car body work. I went, got a quote, sent it to the provided email and had no answer for 3 weeks. I tried to chase it up with Ricky, who is avoiding my calls as he has very important things to do, as I have been informed (obviously damage done to my car is not important at all). As the quote provided for the damage done by them was inconvenient for them, too high, (the assistant told me after being instructed by Ricky who did not bother to come to the phone) I have been told THEY will do the quote, as repairs price will not be accepted by the board, according to the 'assistant'. I have been asked to bring the car for THEM to provide the quote. I have offered this before, that they can choose the garage but Ricky said whichever. So basically nothing has been done to fix the damage their employees caused. Only my time and wellbeing, with no costs to Halfords. I went for a £25 works and came out with £1700 damage.

Will update after I bring the car.

3/5/2024 update: went to the garage for the 'quote', there was the manager at the main desk, asked after couple of minutes how he can help me. I introduced myself, Ricky pretended to not know who I was, and what car damage (evening before he was next to the phone having me on hold, and after I called again giving instructions what to say to his assistant Mark). Then he pretended he did not know I was coming, and then suddenly he managed to recall all above. Amazing. One does not know, to laugh or to cry. Then he went for his assistant to deal with us. He said the quote I provided is for some additional work, he knows as he worked for last 20 years in car body shop, and that the damage is repairable on cheaper costs. I think he did not understand the quote specification, as it was only for the doors replacement, as the garage who provided the quote said it is the only way. Again, the Halfords garage is not doing any car body repairs, so Ricky's opinion is worth the same as his customer service abilities.
No quote was given at Halfords, obviously, as it is not car body repairs garage, and again, I have been asked to provide another quote. All the while he was very impolite and argumentative. I really don't understand why I went there, and more, how is it possible he is the manager there.
It was enough to ask me that over the phone or by email, instead of completely avoiding any communications like a 2 year old, being so unhelpful, avoiding, and stalling. One sentence. I asked for the printed list of garages they will accept the quote from. Will update after.

Very very bad service and very racist…

Very very bad service and very racist people are in the Aberdeen branch. I had the appointment on Tuesday 11.30 staff turned us back by saying tyre hasn’t arrived. Again rebooked appointment for today 1.30pm , waited for hours with 1 year old child but staff didn’t do the work and when I checked with staff they said busy, If can’t more hours, then I have to rebook the appointment. It very frustrating and disappointing. Very unkempt customer waiting area.

Complete waste of time !

Very unimpressed and will definitely not be returning.

Had my MOT booked for the Wednesday at 1.30pm and 15 minutes before they closed they called me to say they couldn't do my MOT today. Absolutely ridiculous !

I was then rescheduled for Thursday at 9.30am and at 8.00am they once again cancelled my MOT due to a suspension with the MOT certifier!

Absolutely shocking and not trust worthy

DO NOT GO HERE !!!!!

3 times i booked my car into have 4…

3 times i booked my car into have 4 wheel alignment done.

1st attempt booked the car in for 4 wheel alignment got there well before my booked time was told they were very busy and a man down and i would have at least a 2 hr wait from my booked time so i couldnt wait and rebooked for another day. A phone call a text message or email could have advised of this and i wouldnt have wasted time and a 60 mile round trip to get there.So im out of pocket for there incompetence.

2nd attempt took the car in for the 4 wheel alignment again left it with them got told they couldn't do it as the drivers side lower ball joint was gone so i cancelled the booking bought a lower ball joint which i later found i did not need as it was fine and it was the passenger side lower wishbone bush that was gone so i bought a part i didn't need i then replaced both lower control arms either side.Another wasted day and 60 mile round trip.

3rd attempt for 4 wheel alignment booked it in again and after previous mentioned work done and they then say they can only do the front as the rear was seized solid took me 10 mins with a bit of penetrative fluid and some heat on either side to get it unseized when i got home.

So overall 3 atrempts to have my wheel alignment done 180 miles of travelling back and forth a part i didn't need and i ended up with only the front wheels alignment done.Now have to pay again to have a proper mechanic do the work.

Totally incompatant they should surely have 1 proper mechanic working there because the staff are useless and clearly have very little knowledge or experience hoing buy there age very disappointed and out of pocket and my time just wasted.

Never again
