I’ve been with namesco for many years and cannot fault them. They respond very quickly to any queries. Recently I asked the help desk how to do something and they responded immediately, with a very comprehensive description of how to achieve what I wanted, and even what to do if this didn’t work. I wouldn’t get my domains from anywhere else. OP

I was with Freeparking.co.uk and had been for over 15 years and then names.co.uk took over free parking.co.uk and the service went down hill. My account was suspended for no reason and I was locked out and despite many calls it was never resolved. I lost 3 domains in the process which I had owned for years as I couldn’t renew due to the suspended account.

I really wouldn’t trust this service at all and if you have any issues, good luck with getting them resolved. Never have I dealt with such a rude and incompetent business who have a total disregard for their customers. Register with them at your own peril.

I offer no apology regarding comments I made in relation to your staff, I have just been honest and if you have an issue with that I would look a bit closer to home. Perhaps if you were as quick to respond to my difficulties as you were this post neither of us would be in this situation. As I have now suffered the loss of my domains and I will never use or recommend your services I see no upside in going any further with yourselves.

Jordan was tremendously helpful when I needed advice about my billing and options for optimising a package that meets my needs. It's great having telephone and online ticket support and everything is followed up with emails and all comms are stored on the system to keep track of the customer's engagement with the service.

Few times bought domains to be infirmwd few days later they can not register. They simply selling names they do not own. Promised in3-5 days refund never arrived. Taking them court . Crap customer service and commonication.

I signed up for the 70 pound 2gb email service. What I did not know is that this does not allow you to send emails! Whoever heard of an email service that can't send emails? I had to pay another 65 pounds to be able to send emails. I am not a happy customer.

IVE Been with Names well over 20 years and sorry to say the last couple of years they have been very poor,i,m having to call in and report site down or domain not pointing and opening site folling site SSL rewnamals,I FEEL MISLEAD & OVER CHARGED regards to SSL now need for domains not webite as i was previously told /purchased,THEY REALLY HAVE GONE DOWN HILL,Names want £196 to add an SSL to my 2nd domain thats been there 26 years and points it to its own site,Another company has offered ssl free to change or max of £50 LOOK ELSEWHERE BEFORE TO BUY FROM NAMES Co

I have been doing business with namesco for many years. If there is a better business out there I would be very surprised. There has never been a time when they have not delivered a truly amazing level of customer service across all areas. A highly recommended business that does exactly what you need consistently. I have been a loyal client with Names.co.uk for ten years until now. I discovered that in 2016 Namesco and Basekit inserted into my website an invalid.domain marker making my site insecure. When I questioned this
and said that having discovered this fact by checking with SSL checker and also whynopadlock.com I wanted this invalid.domain removed. The reply I was given was very unsatisfactory telling me that the invalic.domain was a placemarker. What on earth. Then they offer to rectify this by suggesting that I buy their services for an SSL certificate for 113 pounds GBS per year. What on Earth is going on??? I had told them that I had already purchased an SSL certificate myself, not one of theirs, and wish to install it into my website. This Comodo SSL certificate from CheapSSLSecurity cost me $19 for three years and is better value than the Names.co.uk hugely exorbitant yearly price for security . Since then I have discovered that Lets Encrypt offers FREE SSL certificates and so I requested that Names.co.uk insert a Lets Encrypt SSL certificate into my website to make it safe and remove the invalid.domain certificate which apparently is making my website unsafe but they refused telling me that it was not possible and then offered security to me that I should have to pay them for. This is a deceptive practice as they have caused the problem in the first place by having Basekit intert this into my website without my knowledge
Not happy with Names.co.uk behaviour I thought I should check out their reputation as a company and have discovered in many of my inquiries that Names.co.uk has extremely poor ratings for billing and dubious billing practices and is considered old fashioned and out of date. Most hosting companies now include a free SSL certificate inserted into websites and also free renewal of the SSL not a yearly huge payment.
I also discovered that Names.co.uk are charging clients for a Lets Encrypt SSL certificate which is free. All of this overcharging and also the insertion of an invalid.domain placekeeper into my website so that I might be forced to have to purchase from them a Lets Encrypt free SSL certificiate to make my website safe. This comes under the Deceptive and Unfair Trade regulations.
Below I have posted their last reply to me regarding their explanation for the invalid.domain placekeeper in my website. I might have a very small personal website but to trivialise it in their reply does not show an awareness of me as fee-paying customer for the last ten years.

I have reviewed the screenshots you provided from the SSL lookup tools and would like to clarify why these results are appearing.

The invalid.domain certificate shown in your screenshots is a generic server default certificate rather than a specific SSL certificate issued for your domain. This placeholder is automatically present on the hosting server to manage basic connection requests but does not provide security or validation for your specific website. This is why the external tools are reporting a name mismatch and stating the certificate cannot be validated.

Regarding your hosting service, your website is currently on our Freesite hosting package. This specific plan is a basic offering that has never included an integrated SSL certificate.

According to our billing records, we have no history of receiving payment for an SSL certificate or an installation service on this account prior to your recent purchase.

If you have evidence of a previous payment for an SSL service, such as an invoice number or bank statement, please provide this so we can investigate the matter further.

Without a prior SSL purchase, the server would simply default to the placeholder certificate you are currently seeing. To resolve this and secure your site, we will need to proceed with the installation of the new certificate we have left orders in your Saved Orders for.

Once the valid certificate is correctly mapped to your domain, it will override the server default placeholder and the errors shown in your screenshots will be resolved.
