I was a bit hesitant using 'My Probate Partner' but they have exceeded my expectations and I can't thank them enough. Mike and Samantha are really helpful, professional and very knowledgeable in their field of work. Their communication is also first class...responding to my queries promptly without hesitation each time. I got my Certificate in 2 weeks. Thank you so much for your help and I will not hesitate to recommend your services to friends and family.

One thing I will say it was the price was a lot lower than solicitors that I enquired about. Also they put me in touch with another solicitor who was also reasonably priced. And I thank them for it.

My Mum left a large but simple estate and I couldn’t see the point of a solicitor, not least because of the time they take and you end up doing all the donkey work yourself anyway. I completely underestimated how tedious it would be to do but My Probate Partner got me through it. I would have fallen at the first hurdle, I’m a smartypants and I think I know stuff, but the process is completely opaque. The instructions I got were clear and comprehensive. And when it all went pear-shaped with the Courts refusing Mum’s will but not telling me why (don’t get me started) Mike was extremely responsive and after 3 attempts we got it through (as it was, there was nothing wrong with it, Mike just knows the rules better than the clerk). I had moments of doubt blaming myself for not getting a solicitor and the Court seemed to resent me “doing it myself”. My Probate Partner gave me answers to everything I needed and being able to keep the ball moving was really important to me, I would have gone crazy waiting for solicitors as I now appreciate it does take time. Top marks, don’t let people intimidate you into using a solicitor! I would reiterate what they say though - you really do need to be detailed oriented, or get someone who is to help you because it’s a mine-field. But so worth the satisfaction! Thank you thank you thank you :)

When my father died, the Lawyer that held his will, advised that we required a Grant of Confirmation (Probate), and for him to deal with it, it would cost £250 per hour plus between £50 - £200 per letter depending on length. He wouldn't entertain a fixed price. He also insisted that I needed to use a lawyer because it is very difficult dealing with the Probate process.
After a bit of investigating, it became clear that if the deceased had a fairly simple estate, and you are brave enough, you could attempt this yourself.
I contacted all parties involved, banks, Insurance companies, stock brokers, pensions etc, and most of them had "bereavement teams" that helped you through the process of closing out the deceased business. After a few weeks I had all the information relating to my fathers estate.
That's when I contacted My Probate Partner. The C1 form requires some legalEase wording, and a certain format for listing Inventory.
Samantha completed the form within a few days, and answered all my questions, some of which were a bit silly. I printed them off and signed them, then took them to my local Sheriff Court. One day later I got a call from the Sheriff Clerk letting me know that everything was in order, and I could pick up my Grant of Confirmation the following day.
All for a fixed cost which would be way below what a lawyer would charge.

They prepared and explained all the documentation and gave completely clear and understandable instructions about what to do. I handed in my application for Confirmation on a Friday morning and got a call on the following Monday to say it had been granted and I could collect it that day. Admittedly, I was lucky with the Sheriff Court I had to use (Paisley) where, I understand, there isn’t the sort of backlog other Courts suffer from and the staff there knew I was only in Scotland for a few days but My Probate Partner have to take credit for having everything so perfectly in order that the Confirmation could go through so smoothly.

After collating everything over a four month period, there was always another cog added to the wheel. I contacted My Probate Partners and they helped me finish the application for Confirmation without any issues. Handed forms in and straight away had it accepted. First class job from them. No hesitation in recommending them to everyone.

Fantastic service from start to finish. We had a very complicated estate to deal with however with the help of Mike and Samantha at My Probate Partner we have our confirmation documents in a little over 8 weeks. So much quicker, less expensive and a lot less troublesome than using a lawyer.

My estate was a simple affair however, didn't want it all made more complicated and expensive using solicitor. Probate Partner solved the issue and I got my Confirmation within two weeks. If you want to retain your autonomy then I would recommend giving them a try.
