Worst for Carers. Bottom line.
In over five years of working as a live-in carer, I have never worked with such an agency: underpaid, overworked, zero support, altogether a thoroughly distasteful experience.
Eg standard is 45p per mile. They give you 40p. Once you've signed on the dotted line, you're on your own, Jack.
No thanks. Never again.
Update: Following your latest response, let me elaborate a little.
Firstly, yes, I have used my friend's email as I did not want to be victimised, nor jeopardise my friend's placement which she will be completing soon.
I find it strange that my review has been met with rebuttal and denial, instead of concern.
To confirm:
I definitely have the right company - My Home Touch. I definitely worked through your agency.
I definitely only received 40p per mile (instead of the usual 45p pm)
I hope you do care to take the time to listen to complaints so that you may understand why so many carers are leaving My Home Touch for other introductory agents that offer, for example:
- Working wages
- MAR sheets
- Medication details
- Complete care plans
- Support and follow-up

Carer Support
I went to a client in Torquay she was 92 years and had diabetes. The client woke up a number of times at night using a commode however because of the alarm system l was supposed to wake up during the night to assist her back to bed and cover her.It was not easy having sleepless nights every night but Hometouch was always supportive they called me from time to time to find out wether everything was alright. At one time l was not happy with night check on the care plan, l discussed with them and they moved it to morning instead. Keep it up Hometouch and thank you for your support to carers.

Kate was a wonderful enthusiast member of our household whilst I was away, my husband needs 24hr care and that’s exactly what she provided.
On return from my trip the house was clean and my husband was happy and cared for thank you for the piece of mind.
I will be in touch again soon .

A 4.5 star review. The two carers we had on fortnightly rotation were excellent. They had different approaches, which at times posed challenges. But overall, in the 15 months we used MyHometouch, we could not have asked for better care. MyHometouch were professional, reasonable value ( not the most expensive by any means) and when engaged were supportive, caring. easy to deal with.
To improve to a 5 star rating would require a more proactive system. At the moment the onus seems to be almost all on the client ( and carers) to contact and seek support or help with an issue from the care manager at HQ. A check in every couple of months initiated by the care manager to see that all going well might be worth building into the system?
I have recommended MyHometouch to friends.

Hometouch live in care
I have been using Hometouch live in care for over a year for my Mum.
They have been able to find the right carer for her needs, we have had the same carers on rotation, so they know her well & her needs.
I find the online page easy to navigate care dates, the daily log from the carer & to look at the carer profiles.

Lucky to have had them…
My family and I are so happy with the care, compassion and friendship that the carers gave to our brother.
He was terminally ill and they made him feel safe and gave him the wish that he wanted which was to die in his home they helped make the last 4 months of his life what he wanted, they were all friendly and all of us got on really well with them.
All I can say is if you want your loved one to be cared for in the way that you would want to do yourself but for many reasons cannot this is the company you need.
The biggest thank you to all at Hometouch.

A totally useless company who…
A totally useless company who constantly changed the carers looking after my wife without any reference to myself with 4 carers in the space of 6 weeks with last minute changes. There is no interaction with their management who do not appear capable to liaise with their clientele, they are totally profit orientated and rely on spurious excuses to cover their inadequacies and failings.

I have used Hometouch twice when my mother was hospitalized and Dad couldn’t be left alone. I work in this industry myself (abroad) and recognized they were doing whatever it took to get someone to my father as soon as possible. Both the girls that came ( Elizabeth and Gabby) were excellent and went above and beyond.
They were experienced and caring and my parents loved them both.
I would not hesitate to recommend Hometouch.
The only issue that could arise is that there is a 2 week minimum for live in which I understand but not everyone needs that long. I think the cost is very appropriate for the service they provide.
Being oversees it is very comforting to know my parents are being looked after well.
High quality carers and good support…
Hometouch have provided live-in carers for my elderly mother (who has dementia) for over three years. The main carer has been excellent. I've also been impressed by the experience and approach of the relief carers when she has had a break. Advice and administrative support have also been good. I would certainly recommend Hometouch.
A positive experienceb
We used Hometouch to care for my mother in law for nearly a year . After a very bad first day , (which in fairness Hometouch sorted the issue very quickly ) We had a regular carer who came to understand my mother in laws needs , a regular cover was also found .We were very grateful to be able to care for her at home . I feel the fees were very similar to if she’d had to go to a care home . There was a lot of good backup and support for any health issues that arose .
All in all it was a positive experience.

I would very much recommend Hometouch. I was desperate for my Mum to remain at home when she developed early stages of Vascular dementia. It presented itself very quickly and nursing home care was the only option that I could initially think of but didn’t believe that that was right or necessary. Hometouch as an organisation have been very pleasant and professional to deal with and our Carer has become part of the family. It was not all plain sailing at first, my Mum became quite unsettled, especially as nighttime fell but with kindness and with our carer and I working together it all came good. My Mum lives a happy, comfortable safe and secure life at home with family and friends visiting and taking her out as before. Having Hometouch care at home has made a very difficult situation a happy one.

Hometouch is a super care company ,they took all the stress of sorting care for my mum. Even when one of their carers went of sick they arranged new cover.
