Avoid like the plague!
Absolutely dire experience. I’ve used Mailboxes in the past and they’ve been fine but avoid the Chelmsford one like the plague. Not only did they package two pieces of rare, fragile Edward Bawden wallpaper completely incompetently – taping it to a piece of a cardboard that was too small, which meant that by the time Parcelforce delivered it, there was a whole corner torn off and a fold where previously there had been none. That was upsetting enough (and has cost me a fortune to rectify) but they’ve ignored every single email, including the one with pictures attached, they’ve ignored the email from the head office, and on the two occasions when I’ve FINALLY managed to speak to Sandra, the so-called ‘manager’ I first of all was told it wasn’t their fault, and latterly she yelled at me and put the phone down on me. They DO NOT deserve anyone’s business.

Do not use
Incompetent and useless service. They quoted and collected from auction very promptly and three weeks on, still no delivery. A week after accepting the quote, I sent a follow up email to find out if they had actually collected the items and when to expect them. An email came back saying they were being processed. 4 days later a request for payment, which was paid the next working day. No further communication from them - this was 11 days ago. I asked for a phone call from the owner of this franchise, Sandra, nothing. I rang head office a week ago - they said they would call back, they haven’t. To be fair, other branches are good, it’s just this one. But I still have not received my stuff and now all has gone quiet.

I used the Chelmsford shop for around 7 years, and since it became centralised a year or two ago, it's been utterly dreadful. Such a shame, as I used to know everyone there by name, and they would automatically forward my post according to my preferences. Now, it's so difficult to get through by phone or email. This will be my final year using them, and anyone considering them should give them a miss.

They lost my parcel from auction worth…
They lost my parcel from auction worth almost £500. Communication with them is disgusting 2 weeks of lost time, nerves and money. I paid them £73 for delivery of 1 kg parcel with coverage for the loss of the parcel. But there are no promises, no communication.
Today is already 11.07. The parcel is lost... the money has not been compensated. You take money from clients so quickly and then part with it so reluctantly...

Today I received a full compensation of £549 for the lost parcel. Thank you. I lost a lot of nerve cells, but it's good that at least I didn't lose money.

I strongly urge you to email nso@mbe.uk immediately with all the details of your shipment, including the tracking number, the date it was sent, the value, and the specific Mail Boxes Etc. centre involved. Perhaps the worst attempt I've seen at…
Perhaps the worst attempt I've seen at packing an item for shipping. No attempt had been made to protect the item or even secure is so it didn't get thrown around in the box. I wish I could attach an image to this so you could see it! £70 was charged, the shipping would have cost around £10 so that £60 for packing something which I expect my 5 year old daughter could have made a better job of. I'm sure they will reply to this post as its on a public forum, but strangely all three of my very polite emails complaining about this were completely ignored. I waited three weeks a response but nothing came. The worst kind of company really.
