Ich habe eine Lampe für meinen Vater bestellt und er ist sehr begeistert. Die Lieferung ging schnell und die Lampe hat bereits einen festen Platz im Wohnzimmer.

Lava Lamp is faulty. The plastic is peeling off, and they are not responding to emails. Their telephone lines are also not being answered. We spent €180 for 2 and are experiencing the worst customer service imaginable. They initially said not to use and promised a replacement, but we've heard nothing since. Both lamps are faulty. Bought as santa gift but they don't care . It took more than 10 emails . I even tried to reach out to director on LinkedIn.
I was offered a pin as goodwill gesture .

Service is king . If you don't have good service and a good product then you don't deserve to be in business .

I’ll say right away that it’s very expensive and not worth the money.
What you get is simply not what they show in the video and photo as advertised
You will get cloudy and not well-emitting lamps, and every time you turn it on you will have to wait 1-2 hours until the process starts and turn it off after 3 hours so as not to break

Think for yourself, do you need to pay so much money for this?
Their employee writes to me that their advertising was filmed in a studio and the quality of light affects this
Okay, why isn’t there any warning about this on their website? And 99.9% of buyers do not have studio light, how do you understand this?
There are many videos on YouTube where everything is clearly visible without light, it’s just an excuse
I will demand a refund through the bank, but it’s deception and lies!
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM, IT'S A SCAM!!!

Helaas een teleurstellende ervaring met de Evo lamp.
De lamp diversen avonden aangezet met kaarsje, maar gaat helemaal niet werken. Na overleg met Mathmos verschillende soorten kaarsje geprobeerd waaronder de duurste Bolsius kaarsjes en uiteraard hun eigen kaarsjes.
Ook het kaarsje hoger geplaatst in de voet wat er niet mooi uitzag, maar toen na 3uur 1 maal een bubbel omhoog.
Kortom de fles is gewoon te groot voor 1 kaarsje hij wordt gewoon niet warm genoeg.
Wellicht zou het nog kunnen gaan werken door de constructie aan te passen zodat er minder warme lucht langs de zijkant verdwijnt.
Maar dan geeft een kaarsjes ook nog te weinig licht om het mooie effect te krijgen zoals bij de Telstar raket lamp (waar ik al jaren erg blij mee ben)
De kleine Fireflow kaarslamp werkt wel trouwens.
Er werd voorgesteld dat ik de lamp kon terug sturen, echter toen ik de voorwaarden las bleek het dat ik 10€ minder zou terug krijgen.
Aangegeven dat ik het daar niet mee eens ben omdat het product gewoon niet goed werkt!
Na alle tijd die ik erin gestoken heb konden ze na overleg in het service team hier niets in veranderen.

Dus je kan begrijpen dat ik naar een andere leuke lamp ga kijken

Helpful, friendly staff in showroom helped with our enquiry and we've got our lamp up and running again. Fab! Think the problem may have been a previous 'wonky' bulb that sat too close to the internal fins on the base. The new round bulb is fine and we don't get the smell of burning (got to be a good thing!!). Great to see all the lava lamps on display too. Thank you.

Well made lavalamp in great handmade quality. Could not be more satisfied.

When I purchased my lava lamp they were doing an offer where you could purchase their overpriced tea lights at a decently reduced price, however they had none in stock.
I tried 4 other brands of tea lights, none of which got the lamp working!!
So when they came back into stock I asked them to honour this discount. They flatly refused!!
A few days later they had an offer where if you spent £65 you qualified for 50% discount, so I ordered 3 boxes at £29 each for a total of £87, which they then discounted to £43.50.
When I paid this invoice for £43.50 they actually took £87 from my account!!
I will never buy anything from this company again, no idea how they have survived as long as they have!!
Update
They refunded me the extra money they had taken with what could just about be taken as an apology.
However I will never have dealings with them again!!

Nan loved the candle powered lamp.

I thought before ordering that is this was going to be a trustable company producing quality products but I’m now unsure.
The delivery was late to start ( not necessarily Mathmos issue) but when it did arrive the liquid volume was significantly below the top cover level which made it look silly.
The worst part was that the bulb then went after only 2 days!! There was a spare bulb included but this didn’t even work at all!
I’m now in situation where this expensive lamp as a gift for my daughter is completely unused and Mathmos appear to have gone silent!
Not a good first experience of Mathmos and their products!
Update: Mathmos subsequently got in touch and sent two more bulbs which was obviously good. That would have been great but only 1 of them worked! With the sale on I wanted to try different bottles so ordered two more (bottles only) with 50% off. One was a turquoise/violet combination. Colours looked good but the turquoise lava had lots of dark debris which spoilt it because it lost the smooth look characterising lava, and isn’t anything I have seen in other lavas. I was told this was dye particles that hadn’t mixed with the wax! But there was no offer to replace it with a bottle where all the dye had been mixed properly! Funnily enough, this was also the only bottle which was packaged differently from the rest! Perhaps a previous customer’s return for the same reason?!
I thought Mathmos was going to be a great company with solid products but this hasn’t quite transpired. I’ve tried 3 bottles and 4 bulbs following all guidance yet all the issues detailed were present.

*Update 1 March:
Following the Mathmos reply I can confirm almost all of what was said was correct and most issues have been resolved through some very good customer service.
The remaining issue is that after 1.5 months of use, the turquoise/violet bottle is still an unsightly problem with dark dye particles not having broken down as suggested they would. As recommended I gave therefore contacted support again.
Finally, the reply stated that a replacement bottle was sent for the under fill issue however that just wasn’t the case. If one was sent, I never got it or any communication to say it was being sent.
Aside from these issues the support has been helpful and resolutions mostly good and hence the increase in star rating.

We decided to visit Mathmos showroom as opposed to just ordering online and I’m glad we did . The showroom is great and has every lava lamp on display that they sell . Staff are friendly and very informative.
Would definitely recommend a visit if you live within a reasonable distance..

One very happy customer. I needed to contact customer services regarding the courier service & it was resolved immediately. The lamp is gorgeous. We followed the instructions carefully and after a few days the display has been beautiful. We look forward to it getting better & better.

Bought a replacement bulb and new lava bottle. Fantastic customer service from Tao with good communications. These lamps are far superior to the generic lava lamps. Highly recommended.

Bought 4 différents bottles all gets bubbles (a lot) and scratches on the glass.
Be prepared.
They will tell you it’s normal. My old bottle had zero scratches.

Great customer service loads of stock to choose from with in shop discount will definitely be returning thanks.

Absolutely brilliant service. Ordered on Friday and delivered by DPD Saturday lunchtime!
The lamp looks great once it gets going and brings back happy memories from my childhood in the 1970s. I've ordered some more bottle in different colours so I can change them to suit each season. Spares for bottles, bulbs, caps and bases are all available from the Mathmos website (dont be tempted to buy cheaper bulbs, its a false economy. The cheap ones only last 3 or 4 weeks). Customer service is also excellent if you need to speak to someone as I did (I ordered the wrong colour bottle).
Don't be fooled by those cheap imitations - Mathmos is the original and the best!

Great experience in the show room today, extremely helpful! It was so nice to see all the different colours and styles to help me make my decision.

Lovely little showroom.
Staff were great, knew the products and were really helpful and engaging with us and the kids today.

The showroom you cannot see at the premesis.
The showroom sign is tiny compared to the building and not really promoted on the website.
We passed by out of interest and only realised there was a showroom at the last minute, really hidden away - you should really promote it more efficiently as its a lovely display of the product.

Four stars as the showrooms not promoted or visible.
