Great service, helped me find the part number for my turbocharger and ordered through their website, received the turbo the next day!

I purchased a reconditioned turbo from London Turbos for £396, advertised with a 24-month warranty. Unfortunately, the turbo failed after approximately 4 months.

I returned it under warranty, but London Turbos rejected the claim, stating the failure was due to oil starvation/oil pressure and excessive exhaust back pressure. They specifically stated that the turbo shaft had “turned a blue colour”, which they said was clear evidence of excessive heat caused by insufficient oil supply.

I am a mechanic myself and disputed this diagnosis. As I needed the vehicle back on the road, I reluctantly paid a further £126 for the turbo to be reconditioned again, but specifically requested that the original failed cartridge and shaft were returned to me.

I have now received and inspected those original components. I cannot see the blue heat discolouration of the shaft that they specifically relied upon when rejecting the warranty.

I contacted London Turbos again and asked them to reconsider the claim or identify where the alleged blue discolouration could be seen. They refused and stated that their warranty rejection was their “final decision”.

I fully accept that genuine oil starvation or an external engine fault could invalidate a turbo warranty. My problem is that I do not believe the components returned to me support the specific evidence they gave for rejecting mine.

I have retained the failed components, photographs, invoices and the complete correspondence.

Based on my experience, I would be very cautious about relying on the advertised 24-month warranty.

Worst company, I ordered and paid for turbo which never turned up so asked for my money back,I am still asking for my money back, and considering taking them to court.
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM, DODGY AS

Turbo is working fine but is leaking past the actuator arm. This would imply it's worn beyond normal spec. I'm not going to fix because I cba, but when asked they said it was normal. I don't think exhaust soot visible on the outside of a turbo is "normal". They did say to send it back in for testing, but obviously I'm then without a car so I'm leaving it. Would suggest all they do is replace the turbo core, not all the parts on the turbo itself.

Also would probably ignore the 5* reviews. They send a leaflet with the turbo offering you merch if you leave a review. I imagine most people do that straight away and when they have an issue don't update the review....

In short, turbo works fine boosts fine but has a minor issue of leaking. I was sceptical at first purely because of the leaflet.

AVOID AVOID AVOID

Turbo faulty and failed to accept fault, charged me for a new actuator to fit to the turbo they just supplied. They didnt refund me for the original actuator, still have the same fault now refusing to send a replacement part. Customer service is appalling the way they speak to you and also put the phone down on you. Would not recommend

Opening confession - I didn't deal with London Turbos directly, it was through a garage in Enfield that did my engine work.

The Enfield garage rebuilt the top end of my engine following a failed head gasket. They told me I needed a refurbished turbo, which the garage supplied and fitted from London Turbos. All was good until I got 1.5 hours into the drive home when the EML came on and the car went into limp mode. Got the car home and into my local garage. Error code was related to under boost from the turbo. Local garage removed turbo and London Turbos provided a replacement refurbished turbo. 8 hours labour to do the job (remove and replace); old turbo was filthy and covered in silicone. New turbo was bright and shiny.

Local garage refitted turbo, but a new error code came up, still related to boost pressure. Local garage replaced MAF sensor, boost pressure sensor and a couple of intercooler pipes, all new gaskets and checked for leaks of which there were none. All good sensible stuff. Error code still there, so car has been taken to a turbo specialist.

Conclusion - London Turbos had not properly calibrated the turbo which needs stripping down and sorting properly. Will cost me more than the original refurbished turbo.

False economy by Enfield garage has cost me well over £2k to sort and still going. London Turbos have offered to replace turbo (for the third time) but I have little confidence they can accurately calibrate the turbo and they won't pay for the 8 hours labour to replace the turbo even though the turbo is under warranty.

I was very suspicious at first, never really came across a company that charged a surcharge for a part before, that and the fact I was given a time limit of 14 days to get the old part returned to them or else lose my £90. However, I have to say I am very pleased with London turbos, they were very understanding when it came to my issue with returning my old unit, I kept them informed of the situation and they helped me with time scales. Thanks a bunch London turbos, and I can recommend them

My BMW X5 M50D needed turbo repairs, and London Turbos offered a much more affordable refurbishment compared to buying new from BMW. The team was friendly, the turnaround was quick, and they recommended an excellent mechanic (Nik from Car MD in Kent) who did a great job with the fitting. Highly recommend London Turbos for fair prices and reliable service.

amazing turbochargers cannot fault them, have been using london turbos for over 4 years for my garage based in Essex and have not had single problem once. Very wide range of turbochargers in stock and they are the cheapest around. Thank you to Nedas for his amazing customer service and always looking after us.

Used these guys before. Can't recommend them enough. Arrived this morning Saturday 19/7/25 with a VW crafter turbo. Tbh I was expecting to buy a reconditioned turbo and exchange mine. They looked at the condition took it out the back and cleaned viens adjusted and re calibrated the actuator. Can't believe how helpful they we're. Not one for reviews but these guys have helped me get van back on road ready for work.
