This was not a very SEN-friendly experience, and we won’t be returning.
I visited with my autistic child, and unfortunately the day was extremely overwhelming for them. I specifically booked after the Easter holidays expecting it to be quieter, but it was still very busy and full of tourists. There were hardly any free places to sit, which made it difficult to take breaks when needed.
We were also unable to use the Ride Access Pass properly. There were no staff members available to assist, and other guests wouldn’t let us access the ride queue as instructed. As a result, we couldn’t go on any rides at all.
The accessible toilets were another major issue. The facility requiring a key was very dirty and had a strong unpleasant smell. My child refused to go inside, so I wasn’t able to change their nappy, which was extremely stressful.
In comparison, we visited Paultons Park and even Alton Towers recently, and both were much cleaner and far more accommodating for SEN needs.
Overall, this experience was very disappointing. We ended up leaving without going on any rides. I wouldn’t recommend this for families with SEN children.

Terrible place between rude staff and a perv staff member called johnboy utterly dissapointed with our exspiernce id given over 300 ponds in tickets and not including hotel and parking and dining to have paid soo much to have quees going nearly an hour long' food prices OMG and little gifts my mortgage fee for the month was cheaper than bringing my kids to legoland not worth it prefer to go to my local park its free and theres no hour long ques and less of a chance to find pervert called johnboy its a win win people
We love legoland
We have had many brilliant trips with the kids to legoland. So much to do for all of the family. No real thrill seaker rides but lots of fun and the models made from the lego are brilliant.
The worst day out I have ever…
The worst day out I have ever experienced. We took our 5 year old for his Christmas present and it cost our family over £160.00 plus parking. Signage was dreadful, staff were rude, toilets were dirty, food was very limited and cost a fortune and we didn't go on any rides due to the hour + waiting times, my five year old would never have stood in a queue for that long. The park overall is tired and everything that had a bearable queue cost a bomb like face painting for £15! Definitely will not be returning, total rip off.
We queued in traffic for a hour to…
We queued in traffic for a hour to actually get there. Then queued to enter and scan tickets. Then queued for the toilets. Then thought we’d head for a ride. Queue times all at least an hour, even very simple rides. No choice but to get in a queue. We left our hotel (13 min drive away) at 9:30 for opening at 10am. We first managed to go on a ride at 1:30pm. It was hot so we wanted an ice cream. Queue for this too. Staff seemed overwhelmed and unhappy, sometimes rude. Rides were underwhelming as were the shows. It’s not geared up for the amount of people visiting. Guess what? As we left, queues for the toilets then massive queue to drive out. Never again!
If you have time and money to waste and…
If you have time and money to waste and children to upset perhaps Legoland is the place for you.
I’ve visited a lot of theme parks across the uk and the experience had at Legoland easily tops the number 1 spot for worst experiences.
You can’t enjoy yourself here, you can barely move in the crowds of tourists, waiting times of between 1hr-100mins for main rides whilst smaller rides that you’d find at your local summer fair had waiting times of 45-1hour.
We waited twice for rides only to get to the front of the queue to be told they are closing the ride as it’s broken. Come back later! A total waste of two hours of our day.
£200 spent for a day trip for a family of 4 and a grand total of 5 rides went on. It’s simply not worth the money.
Staff were over worked, confused and lacking any kind of motivation. I asked staff near the performance area when the next show was and they had no idea, there were no times up on the notice boards so waiting for that seemed like a lost cause.
Everything felt rushed (quick we better get in line for something else so we actually get to experience a ride) rather than let’s enjoy the Lego figures, let’s see what’s in here. You just felt hounded to “get your moneys worth”
If getting a Rapid access pass is your thing (at a further cost of £80 per person) Then ok yeah sure some of the smaller rides you could jump on quickly but you’re still waiting 30-45 mins in the rapid access queue for the bigger rides. What’s the point? And remember you’ve already spent £200 to get in so why are you paying more for the privilege to use the services provided 🤷♀️
The children’s review of the place went as so “this is the worst place I’ve ever been” Eight year old daughter after being turned away from a broken down ride.
“I liked swimming at the hotel (hotel was not a Legoland hotel)” six year old son when asked what his favourite part of the weekend was.
Yeah don’t waste your money, spend it on something you’re going to enjoy and experience together as a family. Literally anywhere else would be better than a Merlin theme park
Too many people stops visitor enjoyment
We didn't realise the carpark was an extra £12.
Not many toilets compared to similar sized attractions we'd been to.
At least a 45min wait on most of the rides, which meant we didn't go on many. We downloaded the app to keep an eye on wait times, but they were all busy.
The main problem is there are far too many visitors for the park to cope with. There is the space for them but if you pay a hugh price you expect to be able to experience everything and not stand bored in queue all day. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone or return.
Extremely disappointing and upsetting…
Extremely disappointing and upsetting experience at Legoland Windsor.
We visited as a group of 9, including two young children, expecting a fun family day — but it was completely ruined by the behaviour of staff.
A 4-year-old child in our group innocently approached a staff member and lightly touched them to say hello. The staff member reacted by raising his voice and saying “don’t touch me,” which immediately scared the child and made him upset. This was completely inappropriate given the situation.
When the child’s mother calmly addressed this, the situation escalated unnecessarily. A staff member (who appeared to be a manager) loudly stated “I will make sure you are removed” without any attempt to understand what had happened.
Security then arrived and handled the situation very aggressively. They threatened to remove the entire group and even call the police, which caused panic — especially as some members of our group do not speak English and didn’t understand what was happening. The children were also visibly distressed.
Despite attempts to calmly explain that this was a misunderstanding, security stated they “did not care” and forced the mother to leave.
She was left with no choice but to leave the park alone, separated from her 4-year-old child for the rest of the day to avoid causing further distress to him. This is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about how families are treated.
What should have been a special day turned into a stressful and upsetting experience for all of us.
Very poor handling, lack of professionalism, and no consideration for children or families. Deeply disappointed.
Awful place
Awful place. Queues for every ride ( even the baby ones ) 45 mins +. Even a queue to exit the car park as the barriers were broken and the company decided they would employ 1 person to check everyone's app on exit whilst cars merged into 1 lane - ridiculous. Only place there wasn't a queue was to enter this awful place - Instead of a queue they welcome you in via a chap who has zero communication skills and decides to search your bag to see what flavour sandwichea you have. I honestly can't describe in a fit for publishing words how awful this place is. Please do not visit z do not spend your hard earned income on this rabble. The staff are all utterly demotivated which shows in the 10 mins + it takes to changeover a ride..... awful staff, awful, theme park....keep clear and go elsewhere.
We wait longer in queue there no member…
We wait longer in queue there no member staffs . Long queue and only 1 staff they mange to queue and doing other things. Waste of my family Time very bad experience never come again. Full day only 2 rides
If I could give 0 starts I would but…
If I could give 0 stars I would but it’s not an option. Arrival was awful queuing for an hour just to get on site. Once parked another mass unorganised queue before a pointless bag search ( either do it properly or don’t bother). Then once in ……queue’s as far as the eye can see, over an hour queue to spend 60 seconds going up & down. Value is awful, food prices are criminal. Rides take much longer than needed to start because of the very bad fast pass system (spend the extra on a member of staff per ride to sort this properly or don’t bother)
Lego has always held a place in my heart, after a day here I hate it…..
HOWEVER…….if you are looking for a place to go to loose at lot of money, and waste time standing around in queues, then this is the place to go!!
Oh and also the water park closed on the hottest day of the year in half term…… well done 👍🏼
For lovers of queuing
If you love queuing - you’re going to have the time of your life.
Queuing from the beginning to the end:
Parking, every little ride (even baby rides have 30 min queues), ice cream ( we queued for 30 min to be told that they don’t have the ice cream we ordered 30 min ago anymore - and whether something else was ok - well who is going to say no to whatever after waiting for 30 min?), leaving. We queued for 50 min to leave the parking.
I don’t understand why some people return to this place.
Avoid
Avoid. Such a shame. Used to go there years ago and the whole family always enjoyed. Gone so far down hill. Whole experience was bad. Feels old and outrageous queues (caused partly by the fast track system) so you need to pay for the exorbitant fast track to have any chance of getting on a decent amount of rides. Food massively overpriced and so bad. Theme park food never the best I know but food served cold with overflowing bins while staff stand around chatting.
And so many rides now that little ones can’t go on? What is that all about. Do they know their target audience??
And the harbour show is a shadow of it former self. Real let down.
Such a shame. So clearly all about money these days.
Why are we paying £12 for parking when…
Why are we paying £12 for parking when we already paid for park entrance that cost £1 away from £40?! The queues were way too long, the staff are so slow and getting people off the rides and onto the rides causing delays. It was mad packed! Couldn’t enjoy let alone move.
What’s gone wrong?????
Not the same park we visited 20years ago, to say it’s gone down hill is an understatement. Lots of faded and tired statues which is disappointing as it’s the 30th anniversary. Food and drink prices diabolical (take you own if can find somewhere to sit) under staffed and most drinks machines won’t read your card (no cash options) queued for food for 20 minutes and then told the person serving had gone on her break with no one to replace her. Queues for most rides 45minutes plus providing it doesn’t break down. Overall not a good experience and then robbed another £12 to sit in a queue to get out the car park. Needs a total revamp and few more willing staff. Won’t be coming again!!!!
Poor Value
Echo most of the comments by other reviewers.
The park is indeed looking extremely tired now and the waiting times for the rides essentially limited us to a mere 3 rides in our 6 hour visit.
Maybe it is just me, but it seems the only way to complete the rides in a days visit is to purchase the fast pass for an additional cost.
Our child is autistic and simply could not spend such a long time waiting in a queuing system, often becoming agitated after 30 minutes of queuing before giving up and walking out of the queue, looking for an alternative ride only to repeat the same cycle.
Very disappointed and won’t give any more money again for such little in return.
Safety concern
Apart from extortionate pricing and too many visitors let in the day was ruined by three things in particular: first and most important the dangerous mini drivers ride - young children allowed to drive on their own, no proper safety instruction, no checking of seat belts (the kids had to fix their own) some cars drive headlong into each other, how the kids were not injured is a miracle; incredibly poor catering in the pizza and pasta cafe - how the almost inedible pasta on offer could be described as bolognaise is a wonder; an amateur ninja show which the only people clapping were Legoland staff; finally, we thought there might be some quality a ‘Ben and Jerry’s’ outlet but of course run by the incompetent Park’s managent - after half an hour wait we had to ask why the wait and only then were told ‘the systems are down’ - a lot of visitors very upset, I asked for my money back that ‘wasn’t possible’ a manager was called but after another half hour we left. Em route we reported this, particular the safety concern to ‘Guest Services’ and he said I would have to fill out a form…Remember this is the same company which runs Alton Towers where there was loss of life. Disgraceful!
Complete rip off
Complete rip off. Queues of 40 mins for even basic kids rides. No point getting a fast track pass as everyone has done the same thing so you’ll wait just as long just in a different queue. Stay well away. I wish I could give it minus stars.
Great experience although needs a few changes
Great staff all around hotel & park. Yes staying is pricey but worth it for the whole experience, we stayed only 1 night for our grandsons 6th birthday, booked 2 rooms which included our tickets for 1 day park. ( we knew this as Wednesday park was closed) meant grandson got to enjoy the playroom & his room facilities on day of arrival.
1 room was ready at 1pm & when we went to drop our bags in it the 4 cleaners were having a break inside it, telling us we must have the wrong room!
We ate in the buffet restaurant which was over priced in my opinion. Food was barely warm, although there was a good choice we didnt eat much as nothing was hot. Drinks are not included & we had booked a table for 5.15 but were kept waiting until almost 5.45 in a queue to be seated. Personally I wouldn't use the buffet again non us 5 people enjoyed it.
Breakfast was much the same but as included in cost can make do with choices. Do think for costs that cappuccino/latte etc by machine should be included. Very penny pinching to charge extra for them.
Pre booked a mobility scooter which was well worth the cost & the receptionist arranged for it too be brought down to reception for us. Great service.
Lots of food /drink outlets were closed in the park which was not expected, couldn't find a water fountain that worked to refill bottles with either.
We bought the digital photo pass....DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON BUYING IT!! We downloaded it before arrival it worked but as soon as we tried to add any pictures they wouldn't load. Customer service told us to take photos /scan them at the rides and they will all ge there once leave park. After left park did this and it is asking for payment off photos. Legoland have replied to an email.but as it is outsourced not there system it has been passed on to the company that is paid for the service. I await for their reply.
Legoland drop.is expensive! My grandson spent all his birthday money over £200 & got no discounts no free gifts. Would be great to offer a discount for people staying in hotel , poor form that it would have vost less to buy in a shop off site.
Overall we had a great time & would go back, definitely before holiday season & gets crazy busy. No ride was longer than 10 min wait.
Extremely disappointing
Extremely disappointing – poor operations and wasted day!!! We travelled over 4 hours from Plymouth to visit LEGOLAND Windsor and left incredibly disappointed. From the moment we arrived, queue times were excessive across almost every ride, largely due to poor operations and lack of staff rather than just demand.
We paid extra for Fast Track passes to try and salvage the day, but these were essentially pointless—still facing 20–30 minute waits, which is not acceptable, especially with young children. One ride even broke down after we’d waited and used our Fast Track, and we were told to rejoin the queue with no real help from staff.
Customer service was equally frustrating—staff were unhelpful, lacked empathy, and simply directed us elsewhere rather than resolving issues. After all this, we were still charged £12 for parking despite raising our complaints. Overall, we spent over £350 for what turned out to be the worst theme park experience we’ve had. It felt disorganised, understaffed, and poorly managed throughout. Sadly, this was a complete waste of a day and very upsetting for our children.
