Awesome Experience

Went their with my friends during an off peak session twice now and its great! obviously I don't know about how it used to be still a new comer but the rides are fantastic but you will get some huge ques on popular days from what I've seen online apart from that it was an insane experience which I would highly recommend for rollercoaster experiences and the theming is great too.

We had a great trip

We had a great trip. We got a few fast passes for cbbies land which were well priced but there was so much to do you don't have to get the fast passes. We will have to return as we didnt see any shows which looked great and the kids loved just playing on the park. Make use of the app to check queue times and as we stayed on site we made use of the early morning entry to get on wickerman which seemed to have the longest queue but understandable as its a great ride.

Great day

Visited today on a school inset day so it may have been a bit quieter than usual, but I went along with three teenagers and everyone had a great day. It was very rare that we queued any more than 30 minutes and the rides were rarely closed. The grounds are beautiful and I didn’t feel that the drinks were overly priced particularly, especially the Costa coffee. A flat White was only £4.50 which isn’t a lot more than you would pay normally. It’s a long walk from the car park to the entrance which feels even longer on the way back after a long day walking around Butt altogether we would visit again and had a great day.

A Truly Terrible 2-Day Experience with stay - Avoid!

I recently stayed at the Splash Landings Hotel for 2 days with my disabled son, and it was, without doubt, one of the worst theme park experiences we have ever had.
From the start, the staff at reception were not helpful. We requested a fridge in advance, and it was not in the room upon arrival—we had to waste time chasing this up.
When we went to the park, the experience was shocking. Because it was raining, the majority of rides were closed. Over 2 days, we only managed to get on 3 rides. Two full days, only 3 rides! The park is not fun when this happens, and it is a massive waste of money. Compared to other theme parks, this was extremely disappointing.
We will not be going again. The only plus side was the waterpark, which was fun, but it does not make up for the 2 days of frustration, unhelpful service, and poor ride availability.
Positive: Waterpark.
Negatives: Poor staff, broken promises (fridge), excessive ride closures, low value.

Just got back from 2 days at alton…

Just got back from 2 days at alton towers. Stayed in a woodland cabin. On arrival the cabin was filthy. Toilet leaking over the bathroom floor, Bed looked like they had just been slept in and not made properly. Had red/brown stains on the kids bedsheets dirt over the floor and hairbands left in the kids bedroom, Spoke to reception they said sorry we will send someone out to your cabin. We left for about an hour and came back to find all they done was keep the same bedding and just made the beds. Same stained sheets left on the bed. By this time its 9.30pm and kids needed to go to bed. 10.30pm knock at the door saying I'm here to clean your room??? (Failed at cleaning it the last 2 times) honestly the cleaners need sacking you pay £450 to stay for a night and the park and this is how they treat guests. Disgusting hygiene.

Frustrating lack of communication and customer support

My daughter visited Alton Towers on Wednesday and unfortunately lost her bag, which had been tied to her granddad’s rucksack and appears to have fallen off during the day.

As soon as they arrived home and realised it was missing, I immediately logged the lost property report online. The following afternoon, I received a message asking for more details, which I provided straight away. The item is quite distinctive, so I was hopeful this would help.

However, nearly 48 hours later, I have heard nothing further.

I attempted to contact Alton Towers by phone on Friday, only to find the helpline closes at 4pm, and there is no way to speak to anyone over the weekend. I have also tried online chat, but was simply told to “wait” as there is nothing they can do.

In 2026, it is extremely disappointing that there is no effective way to communicate with a major attraction like this. The lack of accessible customer support is frustrating and, frankly, unacceptable. It gives the impression that there are not enough staff or systems in place to handle basic customer concerns.

This situation is made more stressful because the lost item includes a mobile phone. I now have to decide whether to cancel it due to potential security and cost risks, without any update on whether it has been found. From a safety perspective, this is also concerning as my daughter relies on that phone to stay in contact.

I completely understand that items can be lost and that processes take time. However, the real issue here is the lack of communication and customer care. Not being able to speak to anyone or get a meaningful update is incredibly frustrating.

I would strongly urge Alton Towers to improve their lost property process and, most importantly, make customer support more accessible.

WHAT AN ABSOLUTE JOKE OF A PLACE.

WHAT AN ABSOLUTE JOKE OF A PLACE.
PLEASE I BEG YOU DO NOT GO THERE
My daughter left home at 8am and arrived back home at 7pm after paying £91 for 2 tickets and parking.
spent hours queueing for rides that had 'technical issues' and then had to go and queue for a different ride that then also had 'technical issues'.
From being there all day she had 3 rides and 2 of them were the same thing!!!!
£91 for 2 rides and a repeat ride ARE YOU KIDDING.
THE BEST BIT IS YOU CANNOT MAKE A COMPLAINT OR ANYTHING APPROACHING IT ON THE WEB SITE!!!
never ever go there again and i urge anybody who values their money and where they spend it not to go either
I only gave 1 star so i could write the review -5 stars would be more appropriate

Catalogue of failures

Catalogue of failures. Arrive early just to be sent to the 'additional parking' area, over 1 mile away from the entrance. Their parking policies make no sense, you arrive last and get the best spaces. Then have to pay £15 for the privilege of parking! Monorail not working and the only transport offered was a small bus which again, had an enormous queue!!
The queues for rides were insane, including the Bluey ride which was 120 mins. Hardly got on anything at all with the opening times. Had to exit out of the main entrance, think it would be worth allowing people out of different exits. Pinball Wizzer broke down in the rain, leaving people stranded on it. The staff got the harnesses and hard hats on to help, however a sloth would have been quicker, the poor people were left for ages.
Such a shame as used to be a great place.

It was a shockingly awful day

It was a shockingly awful day. We arrived at 9am with our 2 children (10yrs old and 7 yrs old) who had been really looking forward to our visit. We got there an hour before the rides actually opened at 10am - but had a 30minute walk from the car park because the monorail wasn’t working. We started queuing for The Wicker Man before it opened at 9.50am. We were told the wait time would be 105minutes … 2hrs later we eventually got onto the ride. We then headed to Rita, queued up for 45mins and then found out it was closed down due to a fault. We then headed for Oblivion and same thing again, we queued for 45 mins and the ride was closed down for a fault. At this point Thirteen and The Smiler were also closed down. So we trekked across the gardens to Nemisis Reborn and queued for 2.5hrs+ (the app said it was 130min wait). Then after being in the park standing up for 8hrs+ and 2 rides later, we decided ‘enough was enough’ so we then trekked 30mins back to the car. The park felt under staffed and that the rides were in desperate need of some investment for maintenance and modernisation.

Don’t bother wasting your time coming…

Don’t bother wasting your time coming to this park. Just look at all the reviews to start with. No wonder the park is in trouble.
Travelled 3 hours to get here to find 4 of the main rides closed and the ones that were open had a 3 hour wait even though it displayed 90 mins. Deceiving people into thinking it’s not that bad. One ride we managed which was oblivion. The place is a huge rip off and we for sure will never be returning and advising others not to either. Who wants to pay a fortune to get in and then spend 3 hours to get on one ride?

A awful day at Alton Towers

It was generally poor as a whole. Ride queues were 2-3hours and were not listed as said time. Me and my family only managed to get on one ride being the wicker man. On the Alton towers app it was listed as a 90 minute wait but it turned out to take 2h 30, which for a park of the size is extremely poor and outrageous. I was planning on visiting a few different individual rides but quite honestly after a 2h 30min wait who else would have the mind set to do it. We payed the price of three people and got the worth of nothing. If I had of known the quality of a “well structured” park would have been so awful I wouldn’t have taken the time to go. As a hole we wasted 6h of our lives waiting in a queue and driving there n back. Truly a misery and wouldn’t go again.

Further more, after a long queue of hours we decided to get an ice cream from a Ben and Jerrys machine, beer in mind that this pot of ice cream was purposefully made smaller than others and was around 1/2 the size of a normal pot. They proceeded to give me the wrong pot of ice cream which I know sounds petty but when they have the audacity to charge £4 for a pot of ice cream it generally makes the experience even worse. I firmly felt that Alton towers had seen a decline in general standards & other points of interest. I believe on a hole that it feels like more of an endless money pit than a theme park and yes I can see why they are struggling. The fact
that there are only 8 (correct me if I’m wrong) major attractions (oblivion, Rita etc) and three of that eight were closed is truly shocking. A horrible experience and not one to be missed.

Alton towers, pull yourself together.

No help and things went wrong

Had a nightmare of an overnight stay and trying to complain is hard. After a couple of days I got to send a message. It takes 10 to 14 days to get a reply.
I had problems from tickets not working.
Rude staff.
Ride staff letting people they know do as they like.
Missing a day in the park.
Much more. Wasted over £500

The queues & costs are ridiculous for what used to a fun theme park.

The queues & costs are now out of hand.
Parking was £15.
Two tickets were £74.
Bought a packet of crisps for £1.80.
Spent £16 on prize games to win a quids worth of a stuffed Dragon 😂.
They wanted £30 for photos (which we didn't partake).

We arrived at 1000 hours.
Queued for the first ride, Sonic Spinball, which broke down after 40mins of waiting.
So we headed to Oblivion, queued for 30mins before that also broke down.
Queued for 50mins for Smiler, got on it. Great ride, lots of spins & lifts. Loved it.
So from parking up, till getting on a ride (including the 15min walk from the carpark as the monorail was closed), took 2h15m! It was around 1230 hours before we got to go on a ride. WOW!
We went back to Oblivion & queued for another 45mins before that was closed again due to a break down.
We didn't get to ride Oblivion having spent 75mins queuing.
So we quit that section of the park.
The Sky Ride was also closed, so we walked to the next zone.
Where we got on Thirteen we queued for 30mins. Again, a great coaster.
We queued for Rita which was next to it for 30mins. Easily my favourite ride, so smooth & fast as heck.
Normally, in the 10+ times we've been there, we'd go for a walk through the gardens, but there was barriers on most of it, & time was limited. First time we've never got to enjoy the gardens.
Next stop was Wickerman. A wooden coaster that throws you wonderfully as a wooden coaster should. A delight to ride, but the queue was 80mins. People were leaving the queue due to back & legs pains. There was a shop at the halfway point for people to get seriously overpriced drinks & food. We got a packet of crisps £1.80. The couple next to us got a packet of Chocolate Buttons for £4.80. Robbery!
Be aware, there is a section before the ride where there are flickering lights (part of the show). They say to ask a member of staff if you don't like a dark enclosed space or flickering lights. I have photosensitive epilepsy. Couldn't find anyone to speak to so I could skip that...
We walked to Nemesis, & got on that within 15mins, which was fantastic. The ride was still as smooth as it used to be. I do love Nemesis.
I debated Galactica, but with a 40min queue & time running out, I quit after 30mins to head to the exit & try & get onto Sonic Spinball. We got on that at about 40mins.
We left at 1800 hours as the park closed having spent £106 not including the chug to get there.
Six rides in Eight hours, £14.83 per ride.
The rides are great, but the queues & costs have meant this is the last time we go there.

Worse them park I've had the misfortune to go. Went there for my daughters birthday and it was absolutely horrendous. In 6 hours Grace got to go on 1 ride. She also took her friend we paid for, what a waste of time.
We waited hours for 1 ride then the next ride hours again only to be told it was cancelled right before we got on.
No one apologised when we complained at their desk no one cared. My daughters first and last time there, my it's gone down hill that place

We was quite disappointed as it was our daughters birthday who turned 3 and although the shows was really good and she really enjoyed them a lot of the rides was closed (even the new Bluey ride that came out the day before) which kind of spoiled the day as we paid a lot of money and travelled quite far to come see the new ride and it wasn’t operating for the whole day along with many others, not only that I don’t think there was many food accommodating places for toddlers as there was only one inside the cbeebies land and it was full to the brim so we had to eat our sandwiches outside in the freezing cold rain… overall though we had a great day but the rides was the biggest let down for us.

Too many rides closed

Everyone complains about pricing but I think it’s reasonable if you book in advance. The park itself is great, rides are great, but the big issue is that they close the rides too much, as the other 1000 reviews say too. Yesterday, oblivion, 13, and Smiler were closed all day, I don’t really agree you can charge full price if you don’t have all the attractions open. Wicker man, galactic, nemesis, were all closed at some point. Don’t know what they changed in the last 12 months but never used to be like this. Weather wasn’t ideal but was good enough to open the rides. Be prepared to be disappointed for at least 3 or 4 rides. Opening times aren’t great either (10-4)
