Went to test drive a car and decided not to even test drive! I was made to feel incredibly pressured to buy before even seeing the landrover and felt I was being forced into a sale it seemed very sketchy and desperate! Made me feel very uncomfortable when I said I would go away and think about it… glad I didn’t after seeing all the reviews!

Bought a van from this "showroom" which was a deathtrap as verified by an independent garage. They had it back twice for repairs which they didnt actually do!. Rejected it and demanded a refund. Finally after 6 long weeks we got most of our money back as it appears they are winding up that part of the business. The worst experience ever
Disappointing service
Disappointing service and now not responding to emails. Trust Pilot gives a much clearer picture of this dealer, than the Google reviews.
Anyone buying a car from Landmark should start with a simple question. ‘What is included in your 120 point inspection and pre delivery inspection?’ Ideally with evidence provided. A simple question I am yet to get an answer to.
My Land Rover Discovery Sport got an engine warning light on the dash within 10mins of leaving the garage, with none of the various issues that followed noted on either of these inspections.
The lack of contact lead me to a complaint to trading standards. I notice there is currently a pop up on their website advising they are currently closed, refurbishing their premises, and advising customers to get in touch with the warranty company with any issues before they follow up with their own email. They clearly get a lot of warranty calls and emails to make it the default advice. No surprise!
This is the worst experience of a car…
This is the worst experience of a car purchase ever as follows. I paid nearly 20k for a Land Rover discovery4 I was told the vehicle had been checked out serviced and ready to drive away. The rear tyres on this car were illegal and when I checked the Mot certificate 4 months prior to the purchase it noted as an advisory the rear tyres on this vehicle were on the legal limit and needed changing. I had a blow out on the rear tyre locally and thankfully not on the motorway carrying my family. The mobile tyre company could not use the spare as that also was split. I went back to Landmark as they said they would provide me with a new tyre. They threw me an old tyre in the boot that was also illegal. When I purchased the car it had a suspension fault which was a compressor failure. The very rude service manager said they would sort it out I dropped off the car 2 days later picked it up after a phone call telling me it was done. I drove away and the suspension warning light was back on. I have now booked the car into a garage to sort but have to put nearly a £100 to the cost of the repair as well as 3new tyres £420 and 5 litres of oil £52 as the critical low oil light came on I made numerous phone calls to the company and spoke to the English people who work there but was fobbed off and blanked. I would never take the car back for a trade in at any cost. My advice is stay away. Ps. The toilets are filthy and you are not offered a tea or coffee. As the car I purchased came with no car mats. They did throw a filthy one in from a scrap car which I threw back in the Garage
Please do your homework
Maybe it’s me but when I go to test drive a vehicle being sold for over £20,000 I’d expect it to be clean and in working order. Immediately on starting up the vehicle the dash was lit up like a Christmas tree and displaying error messages. The guy showing the vehicle acted surprised and assured me it drives ‘perfectly fine’ and any issues would be rectified before pick up if I bought it. I’m sorry but why would I pay so much for a vehicle that had so many issues that you couldn’t be bothered to check before selling it. Was also advertised as one previous owner which technically is true however found out that the one owner was actually a hire firm so it had been driven by hundreds of people. Looking at previous reviews of people having issues with engine lights coming on soon after pick up etc and numerous problems I’m glad I walked away without buying.
ZERO STARS AND AVOID!
ZERO STARS AND AVOID!
we bought a discovery and the engine management light came on within an hour of purchase we contacted landmark and we agreed to take it to our local landrover mechanic. My mechanic diagnosed several Eml/ dpf faults and advised us to return the car to landmark 4x4. But trying to contact these guys is impossible there are ill,of stick, in hospital, gone for dinner the list goes on. We took a chance and drove to landmark and a salesman very oddly rushed the car in the garage and 3 minutes later mechanic returns with car saying no fault anymore and they needed to do a regeneration and a refund wasn't an option! We was well within out 30 day consumer rights but Danny was patronising saying we didn't have a legal right to return it and they should get a chance to fix it but we still said we wanted a refund. On this day we left the car at landmark as again no-one was available to make a decision of a refund over a week passed and we had no contact from them they finally replied saying the car had been checked and no faults were found ( were have the faults gone then since Friday? What did they do?... we still stated we wanted a refund but they still declined! citizens advice was contacted and they followed on a report to trading standards and a formal letter was written. They have now had the car back 20 days and still have £29.400.00 of our money so today we have contacted our solicitor because they are now saying the dpf wasn't covered in the terms and conditions but I'm advised they are as the car was sold with these issues and they came to light in the first hour.
I wouldn't even purchase a tyre from these people and they try to lay down there own rules on the law. So of to court we go
AVOID!!!!
UPDATE
JUST COLLECTED THE CAR INCASE THE COMPANY FOLDS WHY ITS BEING PROCESSED THROUGH THE COURT AND THEY HAVE BEEN USING THE CAR AND NEVER ISSUED A REFUND AND ARE STRUGGLING TO COME UP WITH A REPORT FOR THE 124 POINT BULLSHIT INSPECTION THEY SO CALLED DID!
Avoid unlikely they have serviced the car or done any repairs
Went to look at another car with the intention of buying. But that car was in a state. Didn't even bother test drive. Had come along way so looked at different car. Looked at Range Rover, which seemed ok. When checked MOts saw shock was leaking oil - needs fixing. Was told by Danny that they could replace that if I waited. Agreed waited approx 5 hours, purchased car on way home sat Nav didn't work.
Spoke to Landmark they said prob battery issue. Just needs disconnecting. Went to local specialist garage so they could disconnect the battery and just check faults. Asked them to look see if Shock had been changed as still looked old and used to me. Reported shock had t been changed and was still leaking oil. So Landmark had made me wait for nothing as they hadn't changed the agreed shock absorber.
Phoned them and e mailed them on numerous occasions to sort out. Euan very polite helpful but nothing ever happened.
The excuse you will hear are - can't speak to you right now with a customer.
We did fix that and you got the reciept -( obviously I checked and the oart was checked by a specialist garage ) so obvious it's lie.
"Euan had gone home early"
"Euan had gone to the hospital"
" Euan is the only manager who can deal with this "
" no we can't put you through to the owner or other manager they are busy and we can't give you his name"
I can't not recommend thus company enough. For all the protection and reply you will get. Might as well be buying off someone's drive
Landmark 4x4 is in the middle of nowhere which isn't an issue. But the name of a previous company is still up on an outside wall. It's basically an old mill/factory.
Update
Unsurprisingly Landmark 4x4 have closed down. Phone number has been changed to go to DWP in Preston . I'm sure this fly by night company will start up again ( maybe in the same location ) with a slightly different name. Check the address and if another company opens up there selling cars don't touch them. We've reported to trading standards and the police. Hoping to get money back as we bought some on credit card.
What we learned ( apart from Landmark 4x4 are crooks)
Citizens advice give good advice( but most of which can be found on line, AI can generate letters)
Referrals to trading standards do t really do much
Police say it's a civil matter, however it's worth reporting as build a picture.
Always pay for some of the purchase on credit card even if it's the deposit.
Never trade a car to the dealer your buying the car from.. sell privately or sell via on line car buying ( you then have cash which counts should you need to go back to your bank).
Reject the car within 30 days, but be prepared to go to court to Enforce it.
Trust your gut feelings
Almost caught by this dealer
Dealt with Danny the so called boss on the phone as I was coming from Northern Ireland. Everything sounded good and professional over the phone, when I got there it was far from it. He rang on the Friday, the day before I had planned to travel over and was told Danny wouldn't be in and to speak to Eddie. Flights and uber booked, i reached the so called dealership on Saturday at 4pm. Eddie was a gent from the start!, told me where the pick up was sitting and gave me the keys for a look over. When I got to the pickup, I noticed damage on the rear passenger door at the window along with other marks and scrapes along the vehicle that were never mentioned to me or writen in the vehicle discription. From opening the driver door, the driver seat had a large rip on the side of the seat. After speaking to Eddie about the issues, he rang Danny and agreed to drop to a cash back of £1000. After having a think about it i decided to have more of a look over it, that's when I noticed rust on the undercarriage and my partner who also had a quick look under and noticed 2 cables red and black in colour cut. After saying to Eddie about the cut cables, he then told us the side lights dont work also..another thing that wasn't mentioned in the ad or in the numerous conversations I had before flying over. The bodywork had issues and the lights were all sun damaged and scraped too and the handle of the canopy on the pickup was corroded and would've needed completely replaced also.
I've 2 young children that I wouldn't have felt comfortable or safe driving in the pickup after what I saw and the fact of how much wasn't disclosed to me.
Whilst on the phone to try and get a lift and flight home arranged, I had a look around the premises and was far from impressed. The mechanic was running about in crocs with no socks, and for a garage it was dirty and not very well equipped, and from what I saw I wouldn't have trusted any work they would've done on the pickup. The BMW jeep parked beside the pickup also was leaking a large amount oil which was as black as coal, which shows the jeep is on the market without a service or oil change at all.. giving this dealership a one star is over doing it. I'm out £500 in travel costs and £400 in insurance plus a day of my life I won't get back that I could've spent at home with my 2 young kids.
I just wish I took more photos to show what type of facility people are dealing with before wasting their time and money coming here.
Be warned this place is in the middle of nowhere and has no signal so have a backup plan prepared.
Very Disappointing
I had a very disappointing experience with this garage and feel it’s important to warn others before they decide to use them.
The initial service from Danny was outstanding — he could not have been more helpful. However, once we had received the car, the service from Euan and Danny became frustrating, disappointing and rude. Phone calls were ignored and I repeatedly felt fobbed off when trying to resolve the issue. On one occasion I was placed on hold and left there for ten minutes before eventually hanging up.
When the vehicle was delivered it had several issues that should not have been present at the point of sale. These included a tyre already at the legal limit, missing trim, and an interior that had clearly not been properly valeted. The person who delivered the car confirmed that it had not been valeted due to their valeter suffering a bereavement. We completely understood the situation and agreed with Danny that we would arrange a valet ourselves and send the bill for the valet and other items to Landmark for reimbursement.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods supplied by a motor trader must be of satisfactory quality at the point of sale. A tyre at the legal limit, missing trim, and an unvaleted interior fall below that standard. As these issues were present immediately upon delivery, we are entitled to reimbursement of the reasonable costs incurred to correct them.
Despite raising this with the garage, the total amount of around £250 that we incurred to rectify these issues remains unpaid. Considering the high-end cars this garage sells, it is surprising that they are unwilling to resolve such a relatively small amount. We have kept all receipts, emails, and text messages documenting every interaction.
Overall, this experience has been very disappointing. I would advise others to be cautious before using this garage.
AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!!!
Avoid this company, totally unprofessional, absolute lies, cant believe anything thats said when they do communicate back to you with more lies.
Avoid this company, rude, disrespectful, uncooperative, once they have your money they forget you were even a customer. Lost over £7000.00, 9 months of hassle
Never ever have dealings with this outfit, EVER!!
Just found out today that the 3 year warranty advised to take out with landmark for £1200.00 had been cancelled by themselves without permission and not informed us, leaving no warranty and took the money, not refunded in anyway,
Car was knackered, unroadworthy, no warranty as it comes to being found today, Landmark non contactable via phone, email and their based in the middle of nowhere with no phone signal.
Hope Karma comes for this outfit, the whole experience was an utterly nightmare i cannot stress enough to AVOID, AVOID, AVOID
If I can save 1 person this misery and level of corrupt deception then that's something.
I WANT TO WARN PEOPLE TO AVOID THIS COMPANY
I WANT TO WARN PEOPLE TO AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.
Our story started last October when I was part exchanging my Range Rover sport for a Mercedes G Wagon. After the deal went through we had to travel from South Wales to Preston as they had let us down to start with when they said they would deliver the vehicle at our cost. We travelled 4.5 hours and arrived at the garage at 8.10pm. Where the new vehicle was parked it was in a dark area. They took my Range Rover to have a look at it and stated that a sensor light was on. As it was so late and dark in the night they demanded that we put down another 5k in case the light was an indication of something very wrong with the vehicle . They stated that it would be examined the following day and whatever the cost was, it would be deducted from the 5k and the balance would be sent back. 3 days later we asked them why they hadn’t sent a report and we questioned our 5k. We asked them for a receipt of what they supposedly had done to the Range Rover. A receipt came through and it was not our Range Rover but another car.. they sent us the wrong receipt and claimed it was for our car. We searched their website and our car was up for sale on the forecourt just 36 hours after we left it there. They stole the £5k and it was never mentioned again. It was a simple job that needed doing. When the new car was examined there was no paperwork, all the wheels were scratched, no mot or tax. The sale was an absolute joke from beginning to end. They even used a black marker pen to cover the scratches on the wheels. Every time we called them they never returned any calls and there was always a new salesman on the phone because the previous salesman had just up and left . The whole company is an absolute joke and they are ripping people off from the very start . We have had to rectify everything that was wrong with the car, bearing in mind that the vehicle cost over 80k . All they wanted was for us to go away. They ripped us off for the car and also stole £5k of our money . AVOID AT ALL COSTS AS THEY SHOULD NOT BE TRADING !!!!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!!!!!
Bought a RR sport
Bought a RR sport
Was looked after by Danny who couldn’t do enough throughout the purchase.
Would recommend if you go to Landmark try and get Danny, top man and nothing was too much trouble.
5 star service
Would recommend to friends and family.
Don't go there
Very poor buying experience iv had problems with my vehicle in the first two months of ownership items that should of been spotted in the so called 124 point inspection they carry out, I believe there's no such inspection otherwise my problems would of been spotted and wouldn't of cost me over a thousand pounds to put right, when contacting them to report the issues you get completely ignored, the vehicle should of been serviced before collection it wasn't as the service warning has just come on after only two thousand miles, be very careful buying from this garage if you find an equivalent vehicle elsewhere get that one.
This is the worst place you can buy a car
This is the worst place you can buy a car, and unfortunately, it was also the first place I bought a car in the UK.
I am a well-established businessman working in the property sector and deal with large volumes of business regularly. I understand how professional businesses should operate, which makes this experience extremely disappointing.
I purchased the car on 5th September 2025 from Landmark 4x4, Preston, and I dealt mainly with a salesman named Adeel. Initially, Adeel came across as polite and convincing. He told me this was the best car in the showroom and assured me there would be no issues once I took delivery.
However, when I started the car at the dealership, the engine warning light was already on. I questioned this and was told it was only a DPF issue and that it would be fully sorted before delivery. As this was my first car in the UK and I had saved for a long time, I trusted what I was told.
I paid the deposit, completed the purchase, and the car was delivered to my property about a week later.
The car arrived in a very poor and neglected condition, with multiple unresolved issues:
• Engine warning light still on (DPF issue never fixed)
• Passenger side door not working
• Passenger seat heating not working
• Promised repairs and checks were not carried out at all
I contacted them immediately and was told everything would be sorted within a week. I waited. Nothing happened.
Throughout November and December, I made multiple calls and follow-ups, receiving no proper response and constant delays. Each time, I was told to wait, email details again, or bring the car back later — but no action was taken.
When I checked the warranty that I was told was included, I discovered it had been cancelled, without any explanation.
The most frustrating part is that the main issue is simply a DPF warning light, something they promised to fix before delivery but never even attempted to resolve.
If you visit their showroom, you’ll see many cars, but I strongly advise people to be very careful. Also, be cautious of the online reviews — negative reviews appear to be removed or hidden, which explains the high number of five-star ratings.
This experience has caused unnecessary stress and disappointment.
My advice:
Do not buy a car from this dealership. Choose a reputable and trustworthy dealer instead — it will save you time, money, and stress.
I am not backing down from this issue. I am simply asking for what was promised.
Just rung a garage to see if they could…
Just rung a garage to see if they could have a look at our car as it's under warranty. When asked where we got the car from I told them it was landmark 4×4 which he grumbled. He told me that they are a nightmare for doing anything and also fob you off to get rid of you. What does that say about the company that some people think the sun shines out of their backsides. Believe me it doesn't. They are CONMEN who cut corners, use parts of other cars so they say. What a bunch of liars.
I wish I could leave a positive review…
I wish I could leave a positive review but after my experience its not possible.
After asking has all levels been checked and promised they had, had warning lights up before I had even pulled out the showroom. AdBLue was empty, service light on. Needed to replace all windows wipers before I got home, tyre pressure light came on after asking if it had been sorted because previously coming on during test drive. Service sheet stipulated it had a electronic health check, I scanned car and it had 1 live permanent fault and 10 historical faults. Questioned them and they said oh we wouldn't clear them but quite happy to send you away with faults still on the car. The answer from them was to claim on warranty. Noticed knocking on car on way home and had it checked and it looks like it needs front and rear swaybar bushes and ball joints but being confirmed tomorrow. They have even put wrong address down for the V5, wouldn't recommend them to anyone if am honest. Last point, couldn't even clean the inside, still had suckerer marks on inside of window screen and crumbs in arm rest. My valeting company said its been a long time since it has seen polish. Promise you everything and deliver nothing. Very disappointing.
A very unprofessional company
A very unprofessional company. The car's ad didn't mention any faults, and when I bought the car, there were many hidden ones. After reporting them, they refused to help. I was ignored. The car was dirty upon pickup. I wouldn't buy another car from them, and as a warning, anyone planning to buy one should have it thoroughly inspected.
