Keyme charged me $399.75 to change 2 locks. They are a true rip off!

Never Ever Ever Go Here!!! Absolute SCAM!!! Tried to get my car key duplicated and not only is it made off site they reference dealership prices when giving you your "dEaL" 60 discount to 40 bucks a pop. Go to Lowes they got me set in less then a minute for 6 dollars. KEYME SHOULD BE ASHAMED YOU SELLOUTS bet they have a deal with the dealership >=[

SCAM artists. My daughter locked her keys in her car at college with her car loaded to come home for summer break. She called KeyMe and the guy charged her $362 to get her keys out, plus he dented her car!!! This guy clearly took advantage of a female college student! We got the dent out and are trying to get a refund. Locksmith said she could only pay with CashApp or Zelle, which neither have recourse for refund, payment protection, etc. Now we are fighting with KeyMe just trying to speak with someone and they are giving us the run-around, not accepting our calls, etc. The addressed that pulls up in this review shows it's a shopping center.

Order a key. It gave me an offer to get a 2nd key 50% off. So i did that. They sent me only one key. They gave me a refund right away but didn't ask what I wanted done. I replied back that i wanted the key and not a refund. They gave me an offer for 25%. When I said I got that key for 50% they thanked for my feedback but didn't make things right for what I paid. I definitely will not use again.

BEWARE! SCAM ARTISTS - Key Me Locksmith - EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND OVERCHARGED!**

I am writing to warn others about the terrible experience I had with Key Me Locksmith on April 23, 2025. My wife was at home with our two young children when we needed a locksmith. Unfortunately, this company took complete advantage of the situation.

The locksmith insisted on drilling out our deadbolt, claiming it couldn't be picked. However, a reputable locksmith later confirmed that the lock could have easily been picked, avoiding unnecessary damage and expense. The charge for this unnecessary drill-out was an exorbitant $650.

Before even starting the destructive drilling process, the locksmith made no attempt to communicate pricing or what the job entailed. He proceeded to create a mess of metal shavings without any regard for our home.

He offered a 10% discount for cash payment, which we agreed to. However, as soon as he had the cash in hand, he abruptly left without completing the job! The drilled-out deadbolt was still in the door, rendering it insecure.

I had to call the company just to get a new " technician" to come out and finish the job that we just paid $600 for.

Furthermore, the installation of the new lock was done incorrectly. He even tried to leave without attaching the crucial metal strike plate to the door frame, which is essential for the lock to function properly and securely.

This company operates what appears to be a scam, with multiple locations designed to ensure they are the first ones you call in an emergency. Their pricing is clearly not transparent, and we were not given a clear quote before the unnecessary drilling began.

The service was unprofessional, overpriced, and incomplete. They left a mess, didn't install the lock correctly, and took advantage of my wife's vulnerable situation at home with our children.

Scam scam scam!!! Save yourself the time energy and money! I was charged for innacurate services quoted a different amount from charged. And they refuse to release the name of the technician i worked with. The company is not licensed when looked up on the BBB. LADY HANGS UP ON ME EVERYTIME I CALL TO GET THE TECHNICIAN AND THIRD PARTY COMPANY CONTACY INFO! Very unprofessional

They lie to you tell you 30 minutes later for tech to get to job , they take payment, then have you waiting hours . So unprofessional

The locksmith who showed up had no idea what to do, could not unlock the door, had the wrong tools and still charged us for the service call.

The only reason I give two stars is because they unlocked my car quickly.
Things that I didn't like:
Them not giving me a timeframe. They just said we'll be right there every time we called. It was about an hour or more that we waited.
They didn't tell us how much it would cost. The phone rep told us there was a $40 service fee but happened to not mention the $225 price to unlock the car (in five minutes of work).
When they got there they wouldn't have even told us the price if I hadn't asked them and then treated me in a way that I didn't feel like I could back out.
Their invoice didn't have enough information for my insurance to process it to not we have to go through everything.
Update: the invoice the technician gave me didn't have enough information for the insurance to process so the whole payment was out of pocket.

I left a positive review after using the machine at Las Vegas Walmart but that was based on how quick the process was. I should have waited. The machine did not give a receipt and Walmart said I needed to call KeyMe. And the machine did not give me a key, said it would be mailed in a week. A month and no key. Was told to go online, enter order number and I would get a refund. But did not get a receipt so I did not have an order number. Will absolutely never use them again.

I was charged $297 for 10 seconds of work. Not to mention the $40 service fee if you use a card to pay. None of this was disclosed to me prior to providing service. Predatory pricing at its finest. I highly recommend giving your business to someone who will not take advantage of you when you’re locked out of your car.

I was locked out of my car and called KeyMe. They told me the price range was $19-$200. When the technician arrived he charged me $360 and would not explain why, he just kept repeating "This is what the company charges".
I paid this ridiculous amount only because I was alone and felt very intimidated. I figured I could work out the correct price with the company later. Nope. I called customer service and they told me the technician can change the price, the quotes are not honored, and I had agreed to pay $360 and that is that. I asked for an itemized receipt which I have not received. Avoid this company at all costs.

Be prepared for incompetence and aggravation. The locksmith (Javier) installed a keypad lock so that one handle faced the hinges while the other faced the door frame. He insisted that’s the only way it could be installed. I called the manufacturer after the visit who said this wasn’t true. When I spoke with the locksmith he was adamant and didn’t seem to be willing to consider he might be wrong. I called their complaints dept. and asked for a different technician. I was told they’d have to charge us again. The original guy came back, refused my offer to connect him with the manufacturer, tried drilling another hole in the handle that didn’t work, went out and bought a new lock (same model at my insistence), and installed it fine. It took over a week to get it done right. The only reason there’s one star instead of none is that he came back a second time to make it right.

I needed 5 keys made for work and NONE of the keys worked for me. When I called customer service, they refunded me quickly and asked what else they could help me with. When I asked how can I make the keys so they work and the response was "hold the key firmer into the machine while it makes the copies." That's what I did, as the screen directed me to do so... I'm not happy with the service or the response received. Now I have to go out of my way again to find a different location to make copies. I will never use the KeyMe again!

I called to have 3 doors rekeyed and one keyless lock installed. The person on the phone could not give me an estimate, had to have a tech call. He said hed be out in 45 minutes (no quote). Half an hour later he calls back to say he got stuck on a job, another hour and ten minutes. He finally arrives and looks at the locks. He quotes me $1800!! I reiterated i wanted them rekeyed not changed. He tells me he cannot do that. Absolutely not. He was mad and left, thankfully without trying to charge me for his time. All locksmiths should be able to rekey a door.

I purchased a KeyMe. Never received after 3 weeks. Went to the wrong address and their response was that they could not send another order and refunded me.

Called for a quote. When called back told them I didn't need the quote. Told me they had to charge me nearly $100. For what I don't know considering I found my keys right before they called me back. Told them no and hung up. Now I'm getting nothing but spam calls from my area code. 7 alone today. Block and report but they still keep coming up with new numbers. One of which said on Google belonged to an older deceased person. Nothing but a scam thinking people are stupid enough to pay that much just for making a call to ask for a call back on a quote.

Don’t use key me. Unprofessional and the aren’t able to answer simple questions. It’s always we will have a technician call you. When I the technician called I asked if I was able to use the kiosk he started yelling. I called back to asked to speak to supervisor. They would not let me. I called again to asked to speak to someone else. The guy kept hanging up on me. Very rude. I rather pay the money at the dealer
