J’ai réservé un trajet Montréal → Toronto via Kangaride.

Première réservation : aucune information essentielle sur le chauffeur n’était disponible (aucune validation visible, aucune information sur le véhicule comme la couleur ou la plaque). Ne me sentant pas en sécurité, j’ai annulé immédiatement pour réserver un autre trajet. Malgré cela, aucun remboursement ne m’a été accordé.

Deuxième réservation : l’expérience a été encore plus problématique. Le chauffeur utilisait son téléphone en conduisant, faisait de nombreux arrêts non prévus, ce qui m’a fait manquer un rendez-vous important.

Au retour, le même chauffeur avait plus d’une heure de retard.

Au final : manque de transparence, problèmes de sécurité et absence de support client efficace. Je recommande fortement aux futurs usagers de vérifier tous les détails avant de réserver.

Booking was easy and the fare was about 20% cheaper than the bus. According to the company’s website the driver was taking 2 passengers. In fact, there were 7 passengers crammed into the vehicle. I called the company to complain and during an exchange I was told that the company had no control over the driver taking on more passengers ( maybe those passengers are not Kangaride customers ). It gets better ! The company confirmed the drop off point in writing and the driver dropped the passenger off about 20 km from the confirmed drop off point !
Would I ever consider using this car service again ? Never !

To give you a brief overview, this company is definitely legitimate, so you don't need to worry about it being a scam. I usually drive with Poparide, but due to time sensitivity regarding my schedule, I was forced to find a ride through this platform instead.

In terms of cost and fees, the pricing is transparent: you pay a $5-10 CAD fee to the platform, and the remaining ride cost is payable in person via cash to the driver. In the end, the price is almost the same or a little more expensive compared to Poparide.

In terms of platform suitability, the service surprisingly offers live telephone support from 9 AM to 9 PM, which is a great feature. However, a major functionality gap is that there is no way to communicate with the driver before booking to coordinate, nor is a lot of information about the driver provided.

Finally, in terms of the ride experience, I had mixed feelings. The driver arrived a bit late, which happens with rideshares and isn't a big deal, but the vehicle environment was difficult. There was a noticeable lingering smell in the car, and the temperature was an issue. The driver explained that he would get sleepy if he turned the heat on, which I understand for safety. However, in -8 degree weather, he repeatedly rolled down the front window, sending a chill through the car that was very difficult to tolerate; a senior passenger actually had to use a blanket to stay warm in the freezing air. It was also difficult to resolve this as there was a significant language barrier.

Overall, the platform is reliable for booking, but I hope they can improve their standards for in-car comfort and driver communication.
