I was a bit unsure about how things would go, but it turned out quite smooth. Dropped off my keys at reception, and everything was explained clearly. Any questions I had were answered nicely, which made me feel more at ease. The work was done on time without any hassle. It felt like they really listened to what I needed, and nothing seemed overlooked. Everything just happened as expected, which was reassuring.

This was the second time we’ve used John Banks Suzuki in Bury St Edmunds both times to buy a Vitara this time a new one. They’re an excellent family business. I booked an MOT and was impressed with the friendly and professional approach. The staff were welcoming and approachable, making the process straightforward. Despite it being a routine service, I felt valued as a customer. The environment was pleasant, and everything was handled smoothly.

My wife and I visited Bury St Edmunds on February 27th 2026 and walked into Charter Square where John Banks BSE had placed a range of vehicles for the public to look at if they wished.
We started to look at the Honda vehicles that were there and took a particular interest in the Honda HRV Hybrid vehicle.
We spoke at length with Paul Dossett who we found to be very knowledgeable and approachable. My wife and I were particularly impressed with the fact that Paul was conversing with both of us and not just me.
We discussed various features of the HRV and we were very impressed with Paul’s overall manor plus his knowledge. He wasn’t pushy and after about 30 minutes we went on our way.
We both decided that we would be very interested in taking things further and arranged a visit to the garage itself and made an appointment to discuss things further with Paul. The date of this appointment was 3rd March 2026. We arrived at the agreed time and also briefly spoke with Paul’s sales manager who was also extremely professional.
Ultimately a deal was struck and John Banks BSE agreed to sell us a new Honda HRV Hybrid and take both our previous vehicles in part exchange.
We were very impressed with Paul Dossett.
He discussed all the trim and colour options
plus the financial options too plus a 5 year service plan and extended warranty.
He also give us details of the optional add ons like Gap Insurance etc etc to think about.
We arranged to pick up the new car on March 13th 2026. Again Paul was quite happy to again explain some of the main features of the vehicle and paired both our mobile phones to the in car system.
Paul Dossett is a credit to John Banks and is very big on the after sales support. He is very professional, knowledgeable and was a pleasure to deal with. Thanks again Paul.
We very much look forward to future visits to John Banks BSE and hopefully dealing further with Paul going forward.

Having purchased two nearly new Honda's from John Banks Bury St Edmunds in the past, I had no worries about purchasing from them again. They have always given great service and I've always found the sales and service staff very fiendly and helpful, either when purchasing, or arranging a service.

The purchase of the car (ex demonstrator Civic Advance) was seemless, and there was no pushy sales pitch for other services, usually offered at the same time when purchasing a car, which was refreshing.

I always say that you don't know how good a company is, until you get a problem. After picking up my car, I noticed a small paint blemish on the bonnet that was easily missed. After contacting Paul at John Banks, I took the car back that day and the blemish was rectified to my full satisfaction within a few hours.

Would highly recommend John Banks, Bury St Edmunds without any qualms.

Rhys was a very friendly and helpful salesman who understood our needs and explained everything clearly to us.

I recently purchased an ex demonstrator Mazda from the Colchester Mazda dealership. Despite being assured the first year service has been carried out I received an automated email service reminder from Mazda and the "MyMazda" app service record shows the first service overdue. The salesman, Sam Wells, appears to be doing his best to sort this but three weeks later the situation remains and neither Mazda nor John Banks seem unable to resolve the issue. I am concerned the incomplete service record could jeopardise the Mazda warranty especially when using another more local dealer for service.
This situation has totally spoilt the experience of the car purchase.
Hopefully this review will prompt a resolution so I can give the review the car deserves.
