Helpful staff, good advice

I have a 3 year old Discovery Sport, that has had ongoing issues with the emissions system. This has been blamed by Pentland on using the vehicle for short runs. despite the issues only happening when it has been on a long run, the latest happened after 110 mile drive. I am disabled and my car is essential to me, but Pentland now can not repair the car for 5-6 weeks as they are "too busy". Pentland say it is ok to drive it with the warning light on, but would not doubt deny this if it caused further damage. I received a follow up to a review left on another site, saying to contact the dealership, and if I could leave the car with them, they would do their best to get it seen to as quickly as possible. However this has obviously been stated to make their reviews look good, as my husband and I have both phoned several times, only to be told we would need to speak to the service manager who is NEVER available when we call. We are told they will ask him to call us, and the calls never materialise. on the one occasion Pentland did call me back, the phone rang once, I answered and the caller had hung up, this can be verified by my phone log. I am only glad this happened now, as we had fully intended to order a brand new Land Rover in the next 2 weeks, but will now be carefully rethinking that decision, as being disabled, I need a reliable car, not to be left housebound for weeks at Pentland are "too busy" to repair it. It has now been nearly 2 weeks since the fault occured, and we can not even get the car booked in yet, we are just stuck in a loop of calling, being promised a call back and it not happening. Upo until this occasion, we could not fault the service at Pentland, but this has certainly not been the superior consumer experience they promise.

Excellent service provided by Pentland Elgin, George was great from ordering and explaining everything through to delivery, I would certainly recommend.

I have used this Land Rover dealership over last 8 years and it has had its up and downs regarding service however I can honestly say at the moment it’s excellent both in service, staff and overall communication. Happy customer

I appreciate the diagnostic checks found the fault in the infotainment system but after being quoted £1300+ for a new IMC I asked for the part number so I could attempt to source one myself but I was informed it was not possible to pass me this information.
If I’m paying £176 for someone to diagnose a fault, the least I expect is to be provided with the faulty part number so I can decide whether I look for a used replacement or spend £1300+ on a new one.

Service was very efficient and friendly. The cost of the repair was very expensive which was my reason for not giving five stars.

Service receptionist was very good, and work carried out to
my satisfaction.

Getting the car picked up from home and valeted as part of the courtesy, was fab. Also, being able to pay a monthly service plan, is great. Thankfully only required one major repair’ which was very expensive due to labour costs. One corner required a spring was replaced and a nail causing a slow puncture was repaired, which came to over £600 plus. Other than that, service appeared to go as expected from this Land Rover dealership.

Had my Discovery in for a service , requested a Range Rover test drive , all went well an to plan A service staff amazing

Everything was first class. All up to time. Service carried out very efficiently. A relief car was ready for me since I had come some distance It was a major service. Tea or coffee and biscuits was offered by a very pleasant receptionist and there were lots of facilities available in a very modern and pleasant public reception area. The vehicle was ready on time and had been hoovered out and cleaned inside and out. I was well pleased with my visit. They have set the bar very high. 10/10 John[Ian] Murray

From the moment my vehicle was booked in with Pentland Landrover Elgin, I had such courteous experience from all staff. It was also nice for the Service Manager to make time and reassure me that all the work required on my vehicle would be completed that day. Great service indeed.

I had a phone call to say that one of the parts for my car had come in broken so I would have to wait an extra day to get my car back. I totally understand that these things happen and the man who called was extremely polite and helpful. He couldn't apologise enough and said he wanted to make sure everything was done properly. I really appreciated the phone all and the honesty and was more than happy for my car to be in an extra day to get what it needed
