Very knowledgeable and excellent service

After an extremely poor customer services experience with VW customer care, located in South Africa and having no perception of logistics and issue with my Tiguan R. 2 weeks later Beth from UK Customer care contacted me as I insisted my breakdown was escalated and not as they had tried to close the case - twice!! Bryan @ John Clark Aberdeen was who took ownership of this, and was absolutely first class with his support and communication. The time and effort he put into resolving the problem which had it been ignored would have damaged the engine significantly. This car I did not originally purchase through their dealership - thank you to Bryan and team @ John Clark Aberdeen VW.

I found the entire process rigid. There was no negotiation and no attempt to reach a settlement from the sales team. It was take it or leave it. Then the sales team wanted me to settle the bill 5 days before picking up the car, as a favour to help reach month end targets!

Great service, fair price for trade in, great service from Adam.
The only thing I would say is that there are too many forms and signatures required.

VW Aberdeen were very professional in all area of purchasing a new car. All in all a stressless procedure from start to finish. Even contacting by phone and email to check all okay with my new car and reminding me to get in touch with any small query I might have. Great service!

We put our car in for a repair under warranty 21 Aug. We went on holiday the following week and were told we could collect the car when we returned. We called once we got back to be told it could take 21 days to get the part. Apparently we should’ve been told that. We were told it’s unlikely to take that long but they’ve got to tell us it can take 21 days. So we said we’d wait. It got to 21 days with no more updates so we called again to be told it shouldn’t take this long but we’ll get a call back. No call back. So we called again to get a rude employee telling us it’s actually 21 business days now. So we called to raise a complaint where they were very helpful and agreed it’s unacceptable to have left us without a courtesy car for this length of time. She said she’d contact the dealership then call us back today. Once again we’ve had no call back. The car isn’t cheap. We’ve had all service and repairs carried out there when we could’ve gone somewhere else that’s cheaper. So for a month we’ve had no car, which we’re still paying for. We’re still paying for insurance, tax, a service plan- all for a car we don’t have. You have absolutely no care that you’ve left a family without a car for almost a month. You’re happy to sell us a car and take our money but couldn’t care less when something’s gone wrong and it also seems like your staff couldn’t care less either. I seriously doubt we’ll ever be buying from here again and won’t be recommending others to either. Car will probably be sold once we get it back.

UPDATE- 31/07/2026. Called yesterday to use warranty as this time an ABS sensor seems to have failed. E-brake isn’t working, loss of power steering and abs isn’t working etc etc

Called and was told we couldn’t get the car booked in until September. And that’s just to view the car, not order any parts/repair it. Again, just an absolute waste of time. Ended up paying someone else to diagnose and fix the repair.

So they expect you to drive around in a car without abs that’s potentially unsafe for a month?

The buying experience from start to finish was very good and ran smoothly.

The overall experience was good. The used car and new car sales teams went out of their way to find a car up to the specifications we were after. We were given a good trade in price for our car and the sales team worked the finance to give us the best deal for our new car. All documents were sent via an online portal, which we managed ok, but less computer savvy customers may struggle with. The number of documents to review and sign seemed excessive. The documents were long and full of sales and legal terms, which at times was confusing. We even had to sign documents for options we had declined during the sales negotiations, which I had to get clarification on before being comfortable to sign off. The finance documents, of which there were several, were also long and very detailed, which all required sign off too. Collecting the car was relatively easy and the salesman went through the instrumentation and settings with us. Overall John Clark were very good and I would definitely buy a car from them again. Just a shame the car industry seems to increase the number of documents to review and sign off. I am sure the sales teams get frustrated with it too.

Stevie Morrison was my salesman. He was really nice & not pushy & was very knowledgeable. It was easier as I knew which car I wanted to get & it was just a matter of what deal I could get that I could afford. Got a test drive of same model car which made my mind up. Between buying it & getting delivery was about 8 days & throughout that period he kept in touch with me. When I went to collect car he went over everything with me & made sure I was comfortable before driving off. He couldn't have been any more helpful.

The service and correspondence that I received from Callum when I first came to see about buying a Tiguan was excellent. He went through every choice of car that was available and is very knowledgeable. He helped me more than I have previously had In buying a car from a different garage and I will have no hesitation in returning to see Callum if I change my car in the future. Callum is a credit to your company and sales team.
